Divergent Sims is such an overlooked gem, I love how challenging it makes keeping up with grades, getting a degree, holding on a job, sooo realistic imo, also a dark suggestion but I love to pair the traits of PTSD from Divergent Sims with Woohoo Trauma Survivor from RPO, they go really well together for those who enjoy challenging storylines edit: also basemental drugs is one of my faves and adds so much to storytelling, can't live without it hahaha it paired up with divergent sims is my bread and butter for troubled sims
@@brightea I looove basemental lol i can't ever take it out of my game! Oh yes I've hsed those mods combined also, it does make things really hard. I'm currently playing a family where each generation for the past 3 gens have all had PTSD for different reasons and it makes the game really hard 😭 thwir needs go down so fast. One of them makes jewelry so she's started making jewelry to help with her needs lol it helps a bit for her. For the others I do love the extra challenge!
@starstruck_sims I think the most messed up gameplay I had recently was of a celebrity writer, he is a poet and an absolute trainwreck, every book he wrote was titled after a deppressing song that I like hahaha, he married Angela Pleasant bless her poor soul he cheated on her so many times, he has every possible ED, bpd and a bunch of addictions, when she finally broke up with him and I loaded the savefile after so long playing with other families he was drunk having an emotional meltdown in front of her house at 2AM wearing nothing but his underpants and shoes, what an awful sim he is I love him so much
@brightea hahahaha omg I love that so much. We do have a similar playstyle lol sll the drama possible 😅 I love olaying with celebrity sims (and occults...and celebrity occults lol)vand seeing all the drama they get into
@@starstruck_sims I've never tried playing much with occult sims, maybe I should give them a go I have no idea how they work hahaha, I wish I could find some darker mods for messed up dating and friendships, something toxic and dramatic but not necessarily graphic, also if you know of any mods that can make adolescence more hectic I'd love to hear about it in a video or something, I'm used to playing with young adults so this is new territory for me in my latest save file, I appreciate your suggestions, you're the best mod curator I've seen so far
@brightea wow thank you so much!! I'm going to share more mod videos soon and also just general gameplay idea videos. I have some on occult gameplay, but more so for teens! I'll see if I can make more occult gameplay idea videos for all ages! If I had to recommend one of the occults, I'd definitely say werewolves are the most fleshed out with a lot of personality in the game! I'll see if I can make videos on the other things you mentioned too, I'm always looking for new mods for realism and drama lol
Adeepindigo and Lumpino are my two favs!!!!! I checked out Sim Spawn Overhaul as an alternative to Kuttoe’s Home Regions to see if I like the features better. (Also experimented with Carl’s Sim Spawner which also does some world restricting). None of them are bad mods, I am just use to Home Regions and it is just doing what I want/need it to so been sticking with it as my ‘walkby regulator’ but yeah it use to frustrate me so much when I moved a Sim from like home to the ‘big city’ (San Myshuno) and they would just be running into the same old faces. Also hate getting a new pack with a new world and just ending up running into the Goths and Pancakes at the local bar. Like go back to Willow Creek!!!
@@TheDawnofVanlife right, it's so annoying when that happens lol! I love the freedom of traveling to different worlds as opposed to the older Sims games, but hate that my sims can't meet anybody new 😭😭 And ooh I haven't tried those two mods but maybe I'll check them out sometime, although this one's been working fine for me so far! Good to know other options exist though
Thank you for this video and the suggestions! I will definitely get the school and sim spawn mod for my game! I don't know how much you know about the more technical programs for handling mods (this is the first time I encountered your channel so I only just subscribed!), but I would love it if you could explain how to use TS4 Tray Importer and TS4 Studio to fix mod issues! Please don't feel pressured by this suggestion! I will 100% keep watching whatever you upload - you just explain things really well and you seem so nice!
@@radiantpotato thank you so much for watching and subscribing, I hope you like the mods!! Ooh I have those programs but unfortunately I'm not too good at using them. I still need to learn them myself to be honest haha, I have some broken CC that I need to remove 😅 If I become good at them in the future, I'll probably make a video! Thanks for the suggestion 😊 Those kinds of things are really helpful to know!
Thank you for this - such good suggestions. I particularly like what the Divergent mod adds - can see that really helping to individualise sims and guide my choices for them, same for the Relationship and Pregnancy one. I would love to give all of these a try but one thing that has me hesitating is how to manage them with all the game updates we've been having lately. How do you manage your mods/playing your saves while waiting for mods to be cleared/updated? I know it must be possible because you've had your legacy save for a long time now so any hints on the best way handle these bigger mods would be greatly appreciated. Thank you again for this video - hope I'm not asking too many questions 😅
@@SamJones-qx9hz I love the questions so no worries haha! The updates are a challenge, especially with expansion packs and bug fixes. What I do varies. Sometimes I play offline and won't update my game for about a week (so I don't do the big update before an expansion, I don't download the expansion, and I wait for patch fixes to come out in the days after the expansion pack's release). Then one day I'll just download all the updates and the expansion - this makes things much less stressful lol. But if I'm really excited for an expansion and don't want to wait, then I'll just update the biggest mods (like MCCC and UI cheats), since those updates are done pretty fast, and deal with any glitches for other mods, like the ones in this video, until updates are out. With these mods it usually takes a few days, but then after any patch updates for a new pack, they might have to update the mods again. So it can be a pain to keep track, but these specific mods don't break my game with updates - they might just not fully work like they should until I update them (like maybe my sim can't go to their psychiatrist appointment, for example). Some mods are more game breaking with updates lol not these though, in my experience. There are also EA Forums and Reddit posts about which mods are broken after every update so it's easy to search for your mods there. For my legacy save, I do back it up occasionally. And if there are every any crazy glitches that I'm worried might mess up the families, I'll close without saving and try to find the problem. There is also a mod called Better Exceptions that can locate any problems with your mods (I only use it after updates because it pops up a lot while playing). Lastly, if you're kinda new to mods, I would say to make sure to read the whole post on the creators' pages before downloading, because some of these require you to download some small mods alongside the main one, and some of them have a few different versions of the mod you can choose from, and some have optional add-ons that you can choose to keep or delete once you download them. It might be useful to keep a document with all the links and any useful information like which version you downloaded and when etc. I don't do that but if you only have a few mods then that might be good. I might start doing that for my bigger mods
@@starstruck_sims Thank you so much for taking the time to answer my questions. I think I'll try these out and see how I go - might start in a save that isn't too precious and perhaps wait until this latest event gets going. It was always my intention to wait until the game has finished releasing new packs to start my modding adventures but that doesn't look like it's happening any time soon so maybe it's time to just do it 😄
