    I am not German, I am not Jewish, but watching this brings me to tears. How could one Human be so cruel and evil to another human? God, please forgive us for our evils to each other

      They didn't see them as human as the video says.
      But they were okay to steal their wealth from. All of the property that Jews brought with them on train transports was repurposed and sent back to Germany. Thousands of items.

    Wow. If one knew absolutely nothing of how or why the Final Solution ever came to be, this eloquent, succinct, cogent explanation is pretty much all you would ever need to know. Brilliant.

    You would think that if their goal was a contradiction, that someone would have spoken up and said " maybe our goal is wrong"

      One reason he does not mention is that the Nazis realised that the no-one cared what they did to the Jews. Most countries, the USA in particular turned away Jews desperate to flee the Nazis not like today when anyone can enter

    “Vernichtung” is a strange word, being a negation- it is to make nothing out of something. Another term the Nazis used was “Ausrottung,” used frequently to mean extermination.

    Great analysis. Thank you. In my view this doesn’t explain Holocaust by Bullets (HbB), which began with Barbarossa, before the US entered the war. What I understood was that HbB was the reason (perhaps the catalyst?) of the Final Solution, because of the logistic problems of killing Jews on the spot. Where am I wrong?

    All good points, but there's more and the explanation isn't sufficient.
    1. Why did they talk about the Jews in that way? Why did they scapegoat them? One theory could be Rene Girard's mimetic desire theory. The Germans were very ambitious and still growing into their very long-awaited unity as a people. They were frustrated (to put it lightly) by the losses from WWI, and were very envious of American success and standards of living. According to Girard's theory, this contributes to mimetic rivalry and thus scapegoating as an outlet of the rage without taking on the model/rival.
    2. Please read Timothy Snyder's 'Black Earth: The Holocaust as History and Warning'. One major point he makes is the necessity of the destruction of states in killing Jews. Jews were much more likely to be killed in places where the Soviets first destroyed the state's apparatuses and then the Germans did the same. It wasn't just the antisemitism per se, because nearly all European countries then were antisemitic, including the Western European nations.

      What you have to understand is that the Nazis were borrowing from centuries of scapegoating Jews. From the time of Christ's Crucifixion, Jews have been the scapegoat for everything from Christ's Crucifixion to the Black Death. The Nazis just borrowed from that.

    • @holocaustchampion9978
      @holocaustchampion9978 6 หลายเดือนก่อน

      The Nazis talked about the Jews this way for the same reason. They were simply borrowing what had been said about the Jews for centuries. Antisemitism is called the oldest evil for a reason. It's been around since the time of Christ. For centuries, Jews were prejudiced, treated like deadly diseases and expelled from lands they owned. This was the springboard for Nazi thinking and the catalyst was the so called "stab in the back" theory that blamed the Jews and other political enemies for Germany's loss in the First World War. They simply couldn't accept that Germany had been defeated on the battlefield.

    This is all very well and good, but with so much going on during that period it would be easy to avoid or ignore some key aspects, such as the Muslim contribution, which continues to this day.

    We dont understand antisemitism where I am because we dont have it here, but this is really helpful for me to have a grasp of how key people's minds worked and how it had led to such an unimaginable thing as the holocaust. I have always been unable make sense of it before, though they repeatedly teach about it in world history in school.

      You’re gonna have to show some examples of that. And I’ll find an equal number of Leftist/BLM/Antifa examples calling for violence.
      Except the Leftists actually carry through on their threats.
