-Madea: "Sonny, your wife smells like kente oil, the sheets smell like kente oil, he smells like kente oil. Sonny, what does all that tell you?!?!" -Sonny: huh?!?!?!? -Madea: "Sonny if little Tommy......" What a time we had watching the plays!!! They were the best! Bootleg and all. 🤣🤣😂😂🤣🤣😂😂
I would appreciate at least one more Madea play! Tyler knows Madea is still one of his Money makers 🤷🏾♀️💯 My cousin and I went to see “Madea on the Run” 😂 It was hilarious!
So many walk around with childhood trauma & some of Tyler Perry’s movies addressed situations that created conversations that were necessary. 2 things about Lynn Whitfield 1. She has never played broke since The women of Brewster place😂 & 2. She definitely gives off that in control Woman of a particular age & era I must say that the opening scene had me fooled too I liked this movie please review THE FAMILY THAT PREYS I am so interested to hear your take on certain characters & scenes. Great review as usual
I really enjoyed Alex Cross, too. The Family That Preys is the best. He should do more action movies after he gets writers. I remember seeing this at the movies with the church youth choir in 11th grade. It was hard to get through with Lisa being abused and Vanessa telling how she was raped by Lisa's father (growing up in an environment with domestic abuse, being sexually assaulted while watching this movie by another choir member and my cousin seeing it, her acting like I was doing something wrong while I tried moving away from him, thinking it was my fault at the time for being a lesbian). Blair Underwood running the bath was sinister knowing he was beating her. A salt bath wasn't making anything better. He was abusive in Mama Flora's Family, too. uncle joe was disgusting with the incestuous ogling of girls in their family. The way Vanessa said tell her was kinda funny. Maya Angelou reciting her poem at the wedding was my favorite part. I hated Blair Underwood and Lynn Whitfield for awhile after this movie. Tyler really needs to stop with the trauma and colorism.
I liked Diary of a Mad Black woman the movie, Daddy's Little Girls, Meet the Browns. I also liked Madea goes to Jail until Keshia Knight Pulliam showed up then I was like get her off my screen, Family that Preys was good, and Madea's Big Happy Family wasn't too bad.
It’s just frustrating how someone like Tyler Perry has access to some of the best talent in Hollywood, yet he insists on putting out very low brow and chitlin circuit type films. We know you have the budget and the resources for something more quality so why not go down that route?
Omg I thought I was the only one who liked him in Alex Cross and that Don't look up movie. I also kinda wish some of his other characters (family members) would make appearances in other movies besides brown and cora it may have made his movies a bit more cohesive.
All of Tyler’s plays are great . The begging movies was great . It wasn’t til he got on Netflix to where things change . Some of the Netflix ones been really good to me . I liked a jazzmans blues & a fall from grace . Family funeral was funny
Hey Ashley! Loved your movie review and cant wait to see more reviews like this one. Its the way this was the first Tyler Perry movie I ever watched, and the way it make me laugh, cry and piss me off all at the same time is crazy. While I loved watching Carlos get his ass beat, it would've been even more satisfied to see him get arrested and sent to jail for everything he did to that woman. Also thank you for pointing out the bath scene in the beginning, that scene went way over my head. Excellent use of foreshadowing. As for Victoria I never truly grasped the severity of what she did to her daughter when I was little (cuz I was a middle schooler when I first saw this film) but as I grew older and thought about Vanessa's revelation about what Victoria did to her, Victoria deserves nothing but to rot in a nursing home and burn in hell for what she did and how she treated her after the fact. And I know another one of Tyler's tropes is learning how to forgive the people who did awful things to you, but in this scenario Victoria doesnt deserve forgiveness, or anything for that matter. She put your daughters in the most awful situations just so she could have the life she felt she deserved after the horrible situation her mother put her in, and while I do feel bad that she had to go through that type of abuse, It doesnt exuse the hell she put her children through. I would've loved to see a scene where Lisa's in therapy talking about everything Carlos put her through, and to watch her rebuild herself, but watching her finally stand up to him was good too.
Thanks for this review !! Everyone played the hell out of their roles . Especially Lynn Whitfield & Blair Underwood !! I couldn’t stand Lynn Whitfields character Victoria she was the mother from hell .. Generational trauma/ Generational curses are real. I really felt for Lisa & Vanessa… As a Sexual Abuse survivor I can totally relate to Lisa you don’t really trust nobody!! We can’t HEAL what we don’t REVEAL
Lyriq bent in acrimony? Good deeds? Witness protection? Homecoming? Boo? Not sure about funeral. Tough love? Single mom’s club? Christmas? Big happy family? Jail? Family that preys? I’m not saying he’s not repetitive cs we all know he is but it’s some more to his work I really feel like the idea be there it’s just we need to go about it a different way lol
Tyler is doing the story of the 6Triple 8, predominately Black WACs, WWII who cleared a serious backlog of postal materials that were negatively affecting morale. They were expected to fail but as usual, they "kilt it". This project, for Netflix, is definitely outside of TP's general range. We will get a chance to see what he does with such a crucial, historical story. I hope he does it justice.
Ashley the killer part is I’m pretty sure Madea knew everything that Victoria did to them kids because Victoria’s mother was MADEA’S other daughter remember Madea had 3 kids, 2 daughters and a son, that’s why Lisa and Vanessa are her great granddaughters.
hey Ashley, can you please review "A Day Late and a Dollar Short" from 2014? It's a Lifetime movie based on the Terry McMillan novel. Starring: Whoopi Goldberg, Ving Rhames, Tichina Arnold, Kimberly Elise & more. me and my wife watched for the first time, and we enjoyed it.
“OH HELL NO! MADEA!” Bruh that part will forever be funny 😂 I quote that line every time that scene come on
-Madea: "Sonny, your wife smells like kente oil, the sheets smell like kente oil, he smells like kente oil. Sonny, what does all that tell you?!?!"
-Sonny: huh?!?!?!?
-Madea: "Sonny if little Tommy......"

Ms. Cicely’s speech was more like a speech to Black America!! But we needed to hear it!!
Lol,I actually loved that wedding theme in Madea's Family Reunion.
Who wears heels to a family reunion? When Victoria walks up to the house is my favorite part.
The way they ate her up on that porch was EPIC 😂
Mine too 😂😂😂😂
Yes! This is hot Georgia! We don’t wear dresses 😂😂😂😂

My favorite 😍
@@Holy_MysticMy son is a Cartwright.
My favorite thing to say for absolutely no reason loudly is “MY MOTHER WAS A REAL WH🤬RE!!” in the kitchen cooking or folding clothes. Just randomly.
When he was in one of my favorite movies “Gone Girl”. I enjoyed him Ben affleck’s friend.
I absolutely LOVE Gone Girl!! It was wonderful and all the characters were so amazing.
Ashleyyyy!!! Your hair is 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥❤❤❤
I love Madea Witness Protection. And my favorite is the family that preys

I love why did I get married the first one and diary of a mad black woman are 2 of my favorite movies.
They way I would never talk to my momma again if I was Vanessa

Both Carlos and Victoria will be on my on sight list!!
The best part of this movie: Dr. Maya Angelou at the wedding.
He needs to spend longer than a week making movies.

The family that preys together is my mother's favorite movie.
It’s crazy how Blair Underwood played the same role far as a Banker in this movie and in “ Set it off”. But with different personalities.
Yes ! Another movie corner !
This is my favorite out of all the Madea movies 😂❤

Literal plot in all his movies… wife getting abused by husband 😑
Don't forget rich husband lol
Then he meets a good man with bad hair that saves the day.

I like this one too but I am still mad about Shemar Moore wig😅

Remember the actor Terrell Carter, he was always a main actor on Tyler Perry films. I wonder what happen with him.
He's still acting he was on Empire and a couple of Tubi movies
Did a good job in Nina Turtle movie too
What about the part where the old men looking at the young girls with short shorts?
Right!!!! That was cringe as hell
