You have a good point about the clockspring. Moving forward, I will be rotating both ways to find center first, before installing. Been lucky so far, with the 2 I replaced in the past, without doing that. No SPROING on those....lol.
Just bought a 2003 saab 95 with a manual trans 5 speed im new to manual so gonna burn the clutch but it’s got a whopping 256,000 miles on it and it’s still going
On the two sim tabs, gently drive a small thin flathead screwdriver or wedge of some sort, into each tab's gap, enough to lift the tab past the catch, and then easily pull the assembly off the wheel. Much less likely to have a heart attack, get cut or break a tab. Still it is an interesting design to put all that together in one module.
Thanks. I've bought a replacement clockspring, but I've been afraid to do the replacement. Can you give a little instruction on how to safely remove the steering wheel & airbag. What is the best tool to pull the tabs at the beginning? Shouldn't the first step be disconnecting the battery?
Oh man I need that steering wheel looks real good hopefully they aren’t sold out by now 😂 … very informative video about to be doing this job to my friends 2.8 aero dude before had a dead ecu double gasketed injectors autozone coilpacks and faulty oil pressure sensor 😂 it’s all fixed now but the airbag needs to get fixed or it won’t pass inspection rip
Guys, I have a problem. Had my car parked for a while. Battery died, replaced it with a new one. I went to turn it on and now my key won't turn. Took ism off, bypassed the lock in it, reinstalled ism and key turned , but car will not start. Some else said something to do with the steering wheel....any idea what happened that made the car not start?
there's a bypass on the positive battery terminal that you can do that I think would solve your problem. I can't post a photo in the comments, but there's good info online about it

Wow amazing my one has 200,000 so it makes me feel better about the mileage lol

my 2005 93 aero cab has airbag light & no horn ( tried cleaning seat posi sensors, no dice ) so looks like it will be my next project
Have you done it yet have the same problem rn with mines
What’s a clock spring do
Connects the electronics to your wheel so there aren't wires spinning around in the steering shaft.

When my battery was low, I got the Stability Control Failure light on. When I replaced the battery, it went away. Thanks for posting 👍
Excellent work , anyone can get in the shit it's getting out of it that's the skill
Good job...

Had the stability control failure on my 9-5 a few years ago, was solved by resetting the steering wheel position sensor with Tech2
👌
No pain no gain 😭🤣
