  • Following on from my recent 'Day In The Life Of A Chronically Ill Writer' video, on this day last week I thought I'd share a few snippets of a less productive, more symptomatic day, and how I pass the time until I'm feeling a bit better. Would love to hear how you get through days like these, too!

    This is a fairly average day for me at the moment. I'm glad someone has vlogged a bit of what it's like so thanks for that. I can only watch trash because my brain won't follow anything with much storyline or thought involved. I find TV can make my headaches worse. I've started watching TH-cam vlogs of people going shopping, going for a walk somewhere nice, doing little DIY projects, cooking and doing makeup tutorials. They are easy watching and it means I can (in a way) look around shops, streets, the countryside, etc without being physically able to. I find puzzles and adult colouring books okay to get through a bit of the day as well. I also listen to meditation music, sometimes in the bath with candles if I can manage it. The Calm App is great! I find audiobooks easier than reading although both are can be hard to follow when your brain is foggy.

    It's nice to know I'm not alone in those "biggest exercise ever to go lie down on a sofa instead on a bed" days. I still feel unproductive, but less so. Thank you and wish you a better day soon! (Lol, autocorrected to spoon)

    Loving the references to Friends and Dance Moms (also trash for both shows!). Thank you for making this video and giving both sides of being chronically ill - it’s so important that people understand that it fluctuates and that it can be difficult to deal with. Have you got any recommendations for podcasts/songs/meditation etc to listen to when having a bad day? Would love to hear your suggestions❤️

      Thank you lovely! I'm actively on the lookout for podcasts myself so not much help on that front, but Spotify have some really lovely playlists... Detox and Ambient Relaxation are my go-to at the mo, and once you listen to them enough, the Daily Mix the app recommends to you also becomes fab!
