    Your video is very helpful.
    I’m planning on doing this next week with my Yamaha XMAX scooter. It has a center stand and a kickstand , so I’m wondering if I should use the center stand for this. The main thing that I will have to do different than what you did in this video is I will have to put the loop (my straps have handlebar loops and S hooks on them) around the handlebar grips because there is a plastic body surrounding the rest of the handlebars.

    Might be better to drop the hook behind the wood (will it fit?) wrap it around and hook it onto itself. Can do the same with the hooks/straps at the bike end for a makeshift soft strap.
    Can even thread the loose end through the hook eyelet for added security.

      Loading it was scary but worked fine. I just rode it up the ramp with two friends spotting left and right. I might have room to spin the bike around and ride it back down the ramp. Is that how you got it off?

    • @tims-garage

      @@tims-garage Gotcha thanks. Unfortunately the ramp is too narrow on my U-Haul for me to put my feet down at all. 🤔

    • @tims-garage
      @tims-garage  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@craigweaver5671 Yeah, no you dont sit on it. You back it out slowly standing next to the bike with your hand on the brake. That is if the truck you rented is low to the ground. If you got one of those really high ones, then its more difficult for sure

      Not sure. You might want to call a U-Haul and ask

    • @MPHOTO-eo5fg
      @MPHOTO-eo5fg 4 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Rental van is better because it has more spots to tie down and also easy to load because of low clearance, but unfortunately no body rents cargo van one way so you are forced to pay extra for the 10 ft moving truck, the smallest truck they will rent one way.

    • @MPHOTO-eo5fg
      @MPHOTO-eo5fg 4 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Not helpful at all because you didn't video the part where you loaded the bike going through the ramp, that is the most difficult part.

    Awesome; I may try this myself. I'm thinking of renting a truck for moving and they charge $1800 one way; or $1350 with mileage for a round trip; or $300 if I return it about 40 miles from where I pick it up (with unlimited mileage). Guess they didn't think someone would drive it 1000 miles and then return it almost back where he got it, with a motorcycle in back for the ride home.

    • @tims-garage
      @tims-garage  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Wow prices have gone up! I think this cost me $350 one way

    • @deanosmarhebert4258
      @deanosmarhebert4258 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@tims-garage I'm going 450 miles. It just amazes me that there's this loophole in the pricing structure where I can get unlimited miles if I can return it like 40 miles from where I pick it up, and get it for less than it costs me to make 4-5 runs with my pickup and trailer.

    NO kickstand...it inhibits the suspension from assisting with the load!

    • @tims-garage
      @tims-garage  2 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@philtil8977 depends on how it's tied down, no? If it was strapped tightly to the floor I could understand. But I'm a box truck there was no other good way of ensuring that it stayed upright

    • @heathturner1749
      @heathturner1749 27 วันที่ผ่านมา

      I was curious about that too. I was told have the stand down could potentially cause frame damage if there’s a bad bump or shift.
      You can buy a wheel chuck from Harbor Freight for 30 or 40 bucks to assist with keeping it upright. I did that with a hydraulic lift under center to keep mine upright.
