Thank you. Yes we hope it will make the driving much easier - it’s already made a big difference Thanks for watching - hope you’re having a good week 👍👍👍
The A66 was scary enough in the wind in a regular family car! Can’t imagine how hard it was in the motorhome! Really pleased that you have had this fitted so that you can feel much safer 👍🏻😊
Thanks Sah. Yes it’s already made a big difference - it was pretty tiring fighting with the van on even slightly windy days! So we’re so glad we’ve had this done 👍👍
We’re really pleased with it. We weren’t going to go for it, but the A66 changed our minds!! 😃. It has made a really big difference - no more fighting with the van in the wind. 👍👍👍

Happy Wednesday Dave and Sue and congratulations on the upgrade and the times ahead with safer and less demanding driving. Of course I am a bit sceptical about a system called MAD, but it looks good with airbags under the vehicle and the chance to adjust the pressure depending on the situation. And when you do long-distance driving in all kinds of weather this kind of upgrade makes life a lot easier on the road! Florrie will be a lot happier on the road now:) All the best, Ant
It is a good system - ha yes I know what you mean about the name. We had spoken to the guys in October, but we were not going to go for it. However, the trip over the mountain road in a big storm in January changed our mind. The van that we were supposed to be buying had this semi air suspension as standard. But this Motorhome didn't. Anyway, it's been a big difference in the driving experience, and you can adjust the pressure to suit the conditions. Thanks for watching mate, it's all back to grey but mild here. And the river flooding again 🤦♂️🤦♂️
@NBNatureTrailvan With experience, we are able to make more informed decisions. And that winter driving did point the way, so I think you will be very happy with a bit of MADness in Florrie (could not help writing that 😀
On the A66 a month back in some of the bad weather there were quite a few overturned lorries and they ended up closing the road. I can imagine how hard it is to drive the motorhome in weather like that. Looks like they done some good work for you, glad it’s making a difference to drive. 😊
Thanks Yasmin. Yes that A66 drive was so scary!! A couple of times I thought we were going over. We weren’t going to have this job done, but that trip convinced us!! 😃😃 Thanks for watching, hope you’re having a good week 👍👍👍
Wonderful upgrade! Many of the units on this side of the pond has the adjustable air suspension. Mine didn't, but I have only heard good things. Smooth rides ahead!
Cheers Bruce. Yes, it’s already making a big difference. I think the drive across the A66 was my scariest ever drive. A couple of vehicles went over that day. And so that’s what convinced us to get the job done Hope that Snow isn’t too bad Bruce and that you can get out this weekend. 👍👍👍
Thats a clever piece of kit Dave, well worth the upgrade, anything to make your travels that bit safer. It’s a pity it wasn’t included in the original van price. All the best , Ivor.
Indeed Ivor. Another thing we’ve learned. Some vans are sold with all the bells and whistles and some are not! There is so much added stuff in vans/ motorhomes But glad we had this done - it’s made a really big difference!! Have a great weekend mate - hope things are well. 👍👍👍
I haven’t driven a high sided vehicle before - great that these airbags make such a positive change to the handling - make your driving so much easier. I know what you mean about the pull on the vehicle when passing big trucks, we get that on the highway too. Very interesting to learn some details about the airbags! 👌👍👍 Have a great weekend, 😄 Jen

Hello. Just watched your VLOG ref the Semi air suspension. (Very good). How much additional height do you gain on the rear end and middle area of your motorhome when inflating the suspension.? Many thanks. Philip
Hi Philip. Thanks for your kind comment. I’m estimating now as I haven’t measured this but my view is that the air bellows raise the back over the rear suspension by around 2.5cm per 0.5 bar. The advise is to drive at somewhere between 2.5 to 3.5 bar. So at 2.5 bar that would be a standard height (equivalent to base height without air suspension). When we drove onto a ferry from Mull to Ardnamurchan last month I raised the air suspension to full height (6.0 bar) as the ramps were very steep so in effect raising the height over the rear axle by around 10cm. Our motorhome has a long overhang so the back end would have been at least an estimated 18-20cm higher, (maybe more). We had no trouble getting on the ferry without grounding. We drive at around 3.5bar and the driving experience is markedly different- vastly reduced wind drag on motorways and lessened impact on side winds too as the cushions reduce the swaying. 3.5 is the max advised driving height Hope this helps
We drive a Swift Voyager 594, which is 7.85m & has a long over hang. From what you have said it's sounds very promising that once fitted the fear of grounding out could be removed. Thankyou.
@@Philip.Goodwin definitely! On one ferry the crew member thought we would ground on the ramp and he was going to lay some wooden slats but we managed fine 👍👍👍
Ah yep. I had no idea about any of this Dave, but apparently they do Leaf Spring and Al-KO as well. Plus a full levelling system which I’ve seen on some. I must admit, the van is completely different to drive. Wasn’t going to have it done but a trip across the A66 changed our minds. 😃😃🌬🌬💨💨
Hi, I’ve just bought a 75-4DL, great Motorhome, but it’s very low at the back, and catches my sloping drive. Also I’m looking at fitting a tow bar to tow a small car. What increase in height can you get at max pressure? Thanks and great video.
Hi Steven Cheers for the kind words. I can’t be absolutely sure, but I remember from the Glide Rite chats initially that 0.5 bar increase raises the back by about 2.5cm. The normal travelling pressure should be between 2 and 3 bar. (2 being the lowest) And can be raised to a max of 6 bar for ferry ramps etc. so in theory the increase in height will be 4 x 2.5cm = 10cm. 4 inches Writing all that now seems to give a low result as I was sure it was six inches so to get a fully accurate number, I would give the guys at Glide Rite a call. Karl is a good guy and will assist I’m sure. 👍
Hello friends. 🏆I really believe that this is a good choice that the installation will be successful. A really nice camper. 😍🤗 I want it to make you comfortable. 💯 Greetings from us. ✌
Hi guys. It’s been just brilliant for us. Has made such a huge difference!! A lot less stressful driving in wind. 👍 Thanks for watching and have a brilliant weekend 👍👍👍
It really has Rich!! It’s like driving a different van. We were supposed to be getting an Auto Sleepers van conversion that had this system as standard but we ended up with the Motorhome ( long boring story) We weren’t going to go for it but the A66 trip in Storm Isha changed our minds!!! You can adjust the ride a bit too - we’ve set it at a fairly hard ride and we will change it up a bit to see how it goes. Expensive but we feel it’s been worth it 👍👍👍 Hope you two have a great weekend.
Hi David. It certainly seems to stop the big crashes at the rear when you hit potholes. Sue says it feels softer to travel in and it is an absolutely different van to drive. Still a few rattles around if we don’t secure stuff as always in any van but it’s the motorway driving and wind issues that have reduced dramatically plus roundabouts where you don’t have to fight the sway. Just arrived back from Suffolk. Cross winds were very rough - it would have been a lot worse without the air suspension I think. The Ford auto driving is superb even without the suspension 👍👍👍 Enjoy 👍👍👍 With our without I reckon you’ll love your Adamo
Hi Kev. We’re on a Ford Transit chassis with leaf spring suspension so it may be different on other chassis. But we paid £1,350. The guys at Glide Rite offered us a courtesy car or a ride into Liverpool city centre while it’s being done It’s made a massive difference to the van - driving through very high side winds last week and it was so much easier. 👍
This whole air suspension thing sounds like a game-changer! 🚐💨 I bet it makes those windy motorway drives so much less stressful. Glad to hear it went so well for you guys. I'm curious, did you notice any difference in how it handles bumps and potholes? 🤔 Seems like the ride must be way smoother now!
Thanks 🙏. Yes the vehicle handles so much better now. The Motorways are much easier - and before it was like fighting the wheel all the time - now it’s a doddle. We’ve noticed a big difference with potholes too. Before when you hit a pothole the whole back of the van seemed to bang and then crash!! Now you don’t hear a thing. It’s been amazing!! Thanks again - and hope you have a brilliant weekend. 👍👍👍
Looks great. Hope it works well for you. Looks like it will help for sure. Take care and have a great day.
