I wanted an extended episode just so I could know what was in the letter, who it was written by, who it was sent to, and who they were in society at that day in age.

The answer highly likely to be it was it was a novelty/side-show prop.
Apparently people that ran traveling museums and such back in the early 20th century used to cobble these together with real antiques they got from god knows where so the items themselves are effectively authentic but the kit itself is a forgery.

Even with the internet, time and money are two factors. He has to wait for someone to find it who wants it, and has the money to buy it. Even if he finds and calls specific people who have museums for this stuff that doesn't mean they have the money to buy it right then.

Hmm, hey, i lost this like a 100 years ago!
Imagine a movie where its either found footage or professional camera film of a Vampire Hunter fighting it out with Vampires long long ago and in the end of the movie his gear ends up in a pawn shop being sold centuries later like in this show.
Some stuff on this show I can't imagine people parting with. Selling a motorcycle or something is one thing, but a solidified piece of fringe history like this? No way dude. I'd keep that for life.

The kit has already garnered a bit of notoriety, as it recently appeared on an episode of History Channel’s Pawn Stars, where Gold & Silver Pawn Shop wound up paying $16,000 for the kit that was originally obtained in an estate sale. In the episode the kit was valued at $25,000 to upwards of $30,000 by Alex Cranmer, CEO of International Military Antiques, the company now selling the kit online for $24,995.00.

Even tho his initial offer was 6k it would be stupid to sell knowing its worth around 25k and you could get that online or at a auction of some sorts. He could always get that information and just walk out
