    God of mercy God of grace
    Hear our sad, repentant songs.
    O restore Thy suppliant race,
    Thou to whom our praise belongs!
    Deep regret for follies past,
    Talents wasted, time misspent;
    Hearts debased by worldly cares,
    Thankless for the blessings lent:
    Foolish fears and fond desires,
    Vain regrets for things as vain:
    Lips too seldom taught to praise,
    Oft to murmur and complain;
    These, and every secret fault,
    Filled with grief and shame, we own.
    Humbled at Thy feet we lie,
    Seeking pardon from Thy throne.++++++++++++-

    Praying the rosary the Dominican way has made the difference between praying one chaplet and four per day. I am so very grateful, thank you from the bottom of my heart! I appreciate you taking the time to make videos for TH-cam quite a bit. I also very much appreciate the fact that you include the luminous mysteries, as the deep meditations from a Latin website I use, do not include them. This is the most powerful and important gift you could have given us lay people, in my opinion. It has literally changed my life. I cannot emphasize that enough. Thank you, again. From Portland Oregon! (Please pray for me and my 6 grown children, my name is Maureen. My children's names are john, Therese, Michaelyn, patrick, liam, Daniel). Thank you!
    ❤️❤️❤️🙏

      This is the original Dominican version. The O My Jesus prayer was not included when Mary first gave the rosary to St. Dominic. This is at least my understanding. God bless.

      The "oh my Jesus Prayer" is the Fatima prayer, which is optional. It was added by Pope John Paul II, I believe.
      The Apostle's Creed is optional as are the Luminous mysteries, Instituted by Pope John Paul II.
      The Dominican rosary is a no frills, no fluff, no enbelishment rosary, beautiful in its simplicity. There are no distractions. Our attention is constantly focused on
      meditation of the mysteries and
      On Mary, Queen of the Rosary & Co -Redemptrix. The Dominican rosary is, perhaps, the most elegant of all.Simplicity
      Is elegance. Thank you to the 2 OP priests who lead it with the dignity and reverence it deserves.

    I'm a Protestant. I'm curious about the prayers and why they are repeated. I revere Mary ,full of Grace, the mother of God who acknowledged her need of a Savior ,her Son. She is the perfect role model for all women in whatever walk of life they might find themselves in. I do not pray to her. I go straight to her Son, my Savior and hers. What is going on here? I am seeking answers. Thank you. God bless.

      The prayers being repeated makes it better for meditation on the mysteries.
      Praying to Mary is like just asking a friend to pray for you. We give our requests to Mary so that she can give them to God just like a friend would pray to God on your behalf.

      For Catholics, Mary is our co-redemptor with Jesus. She has a special place, both in heaven as the earthly mother of the incarnation of God among the saints, and on earth as the heavenly queen of all men. In the Wedding at Cana, the third Luminous Mystery, we meditate on how Jesus performed his first public miracle, after the prompting of his mother.

      Thank you for your question. Yes the Hail Mary is repetitive, but biblical. Lk. 1:28, 41, 42, 43, James 5:16. The meditation on the assigned mysteries for each decade occupy our mind, while the words of the prayer occupy our body. The rosary also includes the Lord's Prayer Matt 6:9. As members of the Body, who include the Saints in heaven, we can ask for prayers from other members. The title of "Mother of God" is more about Jesus than Mary in that Jesus is God and Jesus had a mother, but she did not give "birth" to His Divinity as His Divine Nature already existed although His human and divine nature are united. Jesus is fully God and fully man; the indivisible hypostatic union. Yes, Mary needed salvation, just as we all do, but it was granted to her outside of time. (God is not subject to time or anything else.) She is "The Immaculate Conception" - as she was conceived without the stain of original sin and we honor her (not worship her) as the greatest of all the saints. She is the Ark of the New Covenant. Please compare 2 Samuel 6 and Luke Chpt. 1. Her role in God's plan is important (past and future). Rev. 12:1

      Every word uttered by Jesus during the Passion is also an instruction, and He gave Mary, His mother to John, as his mother, and John to Mary as her son, in doing this, He gave Mary, to us all, His mother, is our mother. We can come to Mary, as our mother, asking for guidance, for prayer...nobody loved Mary more than Jesus...and when it is written in the Bible, at the wedding feast, our mother tells us, " Do whatever He tells you" ...that is to us.
      To come to Jesus, through Mary is such a blessed gift.
