I know very keenly that since I watched "Dancing With The Stars" (The USA equivalent of "Strictly") and "Championship Ballroom Dancing" in the 1980s, they say that rumba is still "the dance of love". Especially in International Rumba, you will see a lot of L Fan positions and some of its famous variations - the leader in fan would do like a deep lunge in that position, or even a cantilever stretch. Static poses and stretch lines are commonly done by advanced rumba dancers as great choreographic elements to the basic rumba school figures, like the walks, New Yorkers, spot turns, spirals, various cucarachas and Cuban breaks, Reverse and Natural Tops, alemanas, hockey sticks, opening outs, and of course, Cuban rocks.
