    What I do to mainly grow my hair is wash shampoo/ condition and deep condition my hair then give my hair a trim if needed then get knot less box braids with no tension then repeat the same thing but in between i give my hair breaks. Like I big chopped last year July 19 2019 and its about to be a year and my hair is already armpit length. Tovae Naturally do you think that's a good routine to maintain my length and also do you think my hair could grow waist length by this then end of 2021 or 2022? im only 13 though and i don't use any type of gels and just stick to protective styles then when my hair gets longer im gonna start wearing it out and trying new things out. Love your content!

      Yessss you have an amazing routine ! 😍😍 definitely continue doing that and also apply ur oils to ur scalp when u get ur braids done. You’ll definitely be waist length by next year. Good luck and congrats on dedicating to ur natural hair journey ❤️. & thank you!

    Thank you, sister, for all your deep explanations, and as we all see, your hair paid you back for all the love you give. Im from ethiopia but after i came yo dubai when i get busy at work i decided actually its like i get the advice fro hair salon to do relaxednd after i done i get it very manageable and i do like 4 times after that but finally it tunes my hair to nothing, very destroy, i would like to ask you my hair is now about 7 months start transition back from relaxed to natural hair and i been waiting to cut the relaxed part when im reached 1 year, so my question is after a big chop im planing to do a keratin or protein treatment in salone.is it damaged my natural hair that i was working for a months or not please im waiting for your answer. My hair is just the same type as you, so im very curaged by you

    What deep conditioners do you use? I have been looking for moisturizing deep conditioners. Do you have any recommendations? I have already tried Miche Beauty, shea moisture, and Camille Rose and none of them have worked.

    • @tovaeashae
      @tovaeashae  4 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      My fav deep conditioner is the Shea moisture manuka honey and mafura oil. You said you’ve tried Shea moisture so not sure if you tried that one but that’s my fav. When you say don’t work what do mean? Your hair doesn’t have to change excessively but should at least feel healthier after rinsing it out.

    • @tat21able
      @tat21able 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@tovaeashae When I say that it didn't work for me, I mean that the product just sat on top of my head even when the use of heat. There was no real difference in how my hair felt. After I would rinse the deep conditioner out my hair would still feel dry.

    • @justjenny581
      @justjenny581 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@tat21able have you tried adding oils to your deep conditioner?? Olive oil and avocado oil works best for me. I also add blended avocado or half a banana if I have it. Good luck.

    Thank you for this help. I would have never guessed you did protein treatments once a month. Do you mean protein conditioners like the mielle babassu or a protein treatment like aphogee? Do you still seal with castor oil? thank you

    • @tovaeashae
      @tovaeashae  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Protein mask like Miche protein mask or ur own DIY (avocados / egg&Mayo) etc. I don’t seal with castor oil no .. but you can if you want to ! I like to use oils on my roots and massage it in :). You’re welcome!

      The home made protein treatment is done before shampooing. But if it’s a regular protein treatment that you bought from the store, it’s after ur regular conditioner

  • @gigi-gc8gu

    I am still confused with hair porosity. So if your hair has low porosity than it’s harder for moisture to penetrate the strands?

    • @tovaeashae
      @tovaeashae  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yes.. so you have to use warm water to open up the strands. The strands are tighter and harder to let moisture in so heat does the work 🤗

    • @tovaeashae
      @tovaeashae  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Drying your hair with a diffuser/blow dryer on low heat or even a hooded dryer is good too
