I realized after filming this that I never bled the cooling system before riding. That's probably why it was overheating. We have a lot of parts coming for this build to make it as fast as possible. Then We race the supercharged buggy!!! STAY TUNED!
Being a dirt bike guy and knowing a lot about engines, I was inspired by this channel and somehow convinced my teacher to let us build a 250 2 stroke shifter kart to do colorful burnouts at our football games, it’s gonna be sick 🔥💯
I absolutely love watching these videos,y’all know these engines inside and out, literally. You give people inspiration to get good at building these engines. Your process of building shows people how to build up their engines in a straight forward, highly technical tutorials basically.
@@RedBeardsGaragesame I went to Cascade School in Wartrace Tennessee everyone when to our house and built stuff with Dad and I in our shop after school and summer
Awesome job ! The yz 450 is my favorite engine. I’ve built quite a few, my son turned me on to them. I had always run 2 stroke 250z till I drove my sons 4 stroke 450 5 valves in that head to get the gas needed to feed that beast! It turns like a 2 stroke ! It won’t let you down!!!
Speaking of PB Blaster, got their dry graphite spray for my toolbox bearing sliders and the drawers open a lot smoother now. Also their garage door spray is a must have for the torsion springs and hinges. Spray those once a year and you'll extend the life of the door and springs.
Kickstarting tip from 15yr experience as a Yamaha tech. Slowly cycle the kick lever until you roll up on the beginning of the compression stroke, reset the lever, then curb stomp that mufuggin’ kickstart American History X style!
Damn, son, she rips! Great build. I’m glad y’all add the scriptures in the videos too. It can’t hurt to give people a little taste of faith, when it’s so needed these days. Maybe it’ll help get people to be thankful for their blessings.
So I'm a die hard Yamaha guy. Not sure what year that engine is but it looks like an old 5 valve engine which is good because the valves are titanium. The 4 valve engines are great but they won't make as much power as these are capable of. My dune queen is a 2003 yz450. I put a 505 big bore kit in it, weisco forged piston, ported and polished the head myself, did a custom grind on the cams, I run it on c16. She makes 73 hp at the rear wheel. It's an absolute monster. I've gotten her to 240-250° and I've never had any issues. They're by far and away the most reliable liquid cooled 450cc engine there is end of story. I've owned them all, honduuuh, ktm, kawisucki, Suzuki, and Yamaha won my heart because of the reliability. If you wanna get rid of the popping lash the valves. And ur gonna want to change that oil and the filter every 8 hours. Also look into a power now valve and a billet lectron carb.
Get that fan buzzing! As heavy as that is it will be maximum fun if you are shifting into 4th at 50mph (assuming you have 6 gears). The gearing will also help keep it cooler.
And even better idea for the Kickstarter would be if it was removable. Make a place to store it built into the frame Until you need it. That way you don't have a chunky weird thing sticking off the side
Super cool buggy. Looks great. Looks like it all works great. That motor should be on gravy bones. That sweet buggy wants one of them single cylinder 600 units. Sure would look good with gold and purple. Nice job
Burris racing products sent me to this channel, Holy Ship Anchors I didn't realize Blaster had that many products, time to order them all up. Great channel
I have some YFZ Rads in the shop, and 2-3 fans we can send back with you, I’m so impressed it actually ran as good as it did considering your water issues! With the gearing and mods you’re about the throw at this, we should get close to RZR 800 power this is gonna be fun!
Congratulations Team RedBeard ! You worked on this hard when you had chances, and it's paid off with a real Ripper, that looks pretty smooth over the surfaces you were testing on.
Most definitely would move the radiator or add a splash shield to your neck area. Just seems like a big risk if something were to happen and it boiled out the cap or blew a line. Would hate to see anyone get hurt. As for everything else it seems awesome! Hope your having fun with it!
All you have to do to pop start it is hold up on the shifter so the clutch is engaged, and once it is rolling, let it down. It's just like dumping the clutch.
This dud is really cool great job on building it looked sounded great and like u said change the gears will be spot on !! I would love to ride it for sure looks like a blast !!
I love how rbg is telling use how he needs to add a battery and get he fan working before they ride it again, then immediately cut to Lonny ripping it. At least it’s been peer reviewed lol
I don't get why Christians use fake cuss words when we all know that you mean the same thing.. just be truthful, it doesn't make you a bad person ..you guys build cool stuff. You're not going to hell for saying what you mean...Being a good person is all it takes as I'm sure you are.. I just moved back to Florida from Maryville TN due to work. I sure miss it there.. .. Great job guys..
Haha fast little bugger when you can't get past 2nd gear. For me I would of liked the shifter handle to be shorter and put a big Qball on it. Killer show as always RB 🎉 ✌️💛🙏 to you and the fam.
That thing is way to heavy for that engine. That is why people put street bike engines in them. You have double the weight that engine was designed to move. So, while the cart is really cool, that engine will fail very soon. They dont even last that many hours in the 200 pound dirtbike. Get you a used 4 cylinder street bike engine and put that in there. Then you can pull wheelies with your cart and not have to worry about hurting the engine. You will be a lot happier with the performance! Great fab work BTW!!
Alright that looked like so much fun. I have a 1980 something Chenoweth that was powered by a VW and the plan is to repower it with something like a J32. Would love to do a manual setup. Right now I've got a couple other projects ahead of this one, like rebuilding a IH TD-6 and refurbing a DoAll bandsaw. I'm contemplating moving the engine up front on the Chenoweth and making it AWD. Either way watching you drive that gets me excited about my project as well. Thinking about doing a turbocharged J32 and running E85 because it's cheap and easy to get by me. Either way rear engine and 2wd or front engine and AWD it should be a hoot to drive when it's done.
The Yz450 crosskart reminds me of our Single seat mini rail buggies dad built us growing up they are all over your area in Tennessee dad built all 5 of us our own buggies and all the neighborhood kids he also built UTV trucks similar to Polaris Rangers and John deere gators out of Riding lawn movers and Garden Tractors we also built off-road mowers
I live in western North Carolina and I would love to come over and fly my paramotor from your field. It's a 2 stroke and off road lol so it kinda goes along with your channel! Lol
Can you weld a bracket on the tubing? Close to the kick start and put a large return Spring on it. But connect to the Kickstarter to help Return to place. It's not that big of a deal lifting with your foot.
Maybe get a bigger radiator dual fan setup mounted high higher on the roll bar and just build a fan shroud with a roof air scoop and build the body and fairings off of tha andt built for functional airflow
The rad would be good in front, mounted with a little Slant with the fan only problem coolant hoses. You might have to some how engineer some cool air induction ports for radiator since it's in the rear. I just opened the video and the red was the first thing I noticed, in the fan are you pushing or pulling air and how does that work, maybe get a bigger radiator? I can see there's going to be overheating problems. The suspension looks really good
Cool, very cool build, I like what you're doing. TH-cam is great, I might be wrong but it seems like guys feed off of other guys ideas and the result is some really cool creations. there's a decompression lobe on the exhaust cam of that engine
