I'm not an engineer or anything close, but I believe helical cut gears are stronger because each tooth is substantially longer giving more area for contact and absorbing the load/force applied to them.
I'm currently designing a DIY project similar to the Sierra cars, they have been a huge inspiration for me to design a race car in a country where cars are taxed @280%
as an rc car guy I can relate that buggy is an army knife of cars as it can go both on and of road with just some mods on suspension and weight transfer.
That dude on the Pikes Peak run was completely HAULIN BALLS the entire time too. I think there 3 turns where he had to drop down slower than 50 mph. The rest was insane...
American sportsworks carbide 150cc fun kart has all the same features, adjustable dirtbike full suspension, hydraulic brakes, rear view mirror, super sturdy frame, etc. The engine it comes with is good for 55mph but a swap is easy the way the engine is mounted on them floated.
When I was stationed in Germany I could ride my Yamaha raptor on the street. It had plates and I gave it the beans everywhere. You should do an episode on why I can't do that in my own country 🇺🇸. I guess why other people can't do it either lol
You guys should do a video on USAC Midgets. 1100 pound cars (with the driver) with over 400hp. Naturally aspirated on alcohol and run around 10,000 RPM. We are talking near F1 power to weight, but with direct drive, no transmission, and no clutch.
You guys should do a video on USAC midgets. Go to the Chili Bowl Midget Nationals in Tulsa in January. Under 1000lb cars with over 400hp. Chili Bowl has all the best drivers from NASCAR, Indy Car, dirt cars, even had some rally guys come over. Over 300 cars pitting and racing inside a building for 4 days. It the cars are the real stars. Under 1000lbs, 400hp, no clutch or transmission.
They should make a racing series for these cars like the ARENA TRUCK SERIES. They drive from Blacktop to OFF road all in the same track. That would be awesome.

As a car loving gay human you cannot measure my smile when I heard the power bottom joke and the way it was made! You guys are nice people.
I snorted😂
With EV cars setting pikes peak records alongside these, it would be cool to see one of these EV swapped. Lose about 80lb of motor and trans, pick up an extra 500lb of battery, and find an extra 100hp to lug those batteries around
There was something like this but I think it was a rzr with a tesla model 3 rear drive unit out at sema last year.
And they powered it with a believe a custom pack made from 2 disassembled zero battery pack's. Looked cool but couldn't find much on it. 🤔
Would be best to put the motors at the wheels, which might not be possible with an open wheel setup like this?
@@wiegraf9009 0.o make the wheels a bit bigger and put the motors IN the wheels lol if you're comfortable stringing 800volt lines across the struts lol
I could care less about cars or car culture but I still really enjoy these Donut Media videos. They’re informational, witty, well produced and entertaining. Even though I don’t know shit about cars you guys are good at breaking everything down to where I understand what you’re talking about lol
It may officially street legal, but nobody is going to drive a car without a reverse gear on the street.
How did they make it street legal?
I do it all the time in my shitbox 😅
Its light enough to be pushed backwards, so a trade off wiling to make
It may have electric reverse but don’t quote me on that.
I wanted to hate this video because I thought dude was obnoxious but honestly it was a fun ride and he's funny. Owning one of these toys would be a dream. I wanna take one for a rip in the desert.
Investing in crypto now should be in every wise individuals list, in some months time you'll be ecstatic with the decision you made today.
My first investment with Mr Greg Gonzalez gave me the assurance that have made me invest without the fear of losing, I got four of my friends involved with him already
This is just insane!! I need one in the future. Goal!
I've been wanting to see Grind Hard Plumbing build their take on one of these for awhile now. Such a cool concept.
Always dig the engineering breakdowns in this series. Nicely done.
The family tree at 0:23 is pure art
As a long time, Pikes Peak motorbike competitor, I can safely say that ball of fur is a marmot. Excellent information on this RX3, entertaining as well. I want! Cheers...
3:46 - And who said motosport isn't eco friendly. That dude clearly just saved that saved that little four-legged dude from death by speed.

It is a riot to drive a Sierra RX-3. I would love to do it again. Wish I could afford to buy one
Happy to say I’m building one of these soon!! Gonna upload the process on my channel :)
That hat is super sick. I like how it's not branded like most TH-cam merch
I 100% would watch a racing series with all the varieties of course with a field of these.
Thank god someone finally made vids about kross karts
I can def see snow ski's being developed for the front and sand tires in the rear for a Deep Snow RX-3
He said inside wheels rotate faster than the outside wheels, that was backwards.

Your editor gotta improve his audio editing skills lol 15:07. Great video tho, entertaining and informing as always 👌
We are talking near F1 power to weight, but with direct drive, no transmission, and no clutch.
thanks for getting my hopes up, watched the video and was pumped! went to the website.
STARTING PRICE............$68,000$
NOT 30,000
same
Not really a car, it's a toy ... a brilliant, wonderful and joyful .. toy !
This is the BEST SPRINT CAR i ever drove.
It would be sick to see a few episodes of pure driving by the Donut boys. We’ve seen bits and pieces, but let’s put those skills to the test!
This makes me even more excited for my DF goblin build coming in May
