  • Installing LED lights and drilling mounting holes, fabricating space saving passenger seat out of plywood, redoing the hood scoop and adding electric fan to make the engine cooling more forced, fabricating hitch ball mount, installing bilge pump and prepping the tub for paint next week by welding all the seams on the upper body. More is yet to come. Stay tuned. We'll be riding this thing soon! Can't wait!

Suggest you face the hood scoop to the rear. You will still have plenty of air flow to the engine due to the fan and in case you take water over the front, you won't have a direct flow path for the water to flood the engine. Add a couple drain holes at the front of the scoop and any water that gets into the scoop should flow back out around the fan ring. Something to think about. Very impressive build and you are one heck of a fabricator.

I have the scoop the way I have it just because of the rain - I will keep this vehicle outside and the bonnet is in the rain so I don't want the rain water to flow in to the tub. I will slowly go in the water so there will be no wake in front of the vehicle big enough to submerge the thing. Hopefully. 😀

hey Donn if your plan is to drive the tracks from just the rear tires you will probably need some chain configuration to the front tires also; otherwise hills ,heavier loads as well certain snow conditions will cause the drive tire to spin inside track or want to bind track in between tires
.Great videos I have learned lots from them, thank you.

    • @DonnDIY

The metal parts of the tracks have small edges on them that bite in to the rear tires with soft rubber. The tires are tightened with tire pressure. I've seen it done before. Let's hope it's not going to be a problem. 👍

Cheers man! I'm still working on small bits and pieces just before the paint. Hoping to finish all the prep work today and tow it to the paintshop tomorrow or the day after that. 👍
