Just got brought to absolute tears. I wish I could say I’ve been a fan of Chris Cornell for years, but I’ve really only begun to dig into him as a person and his music for the past few months. And jesus, such a beautiful and talented soul lost. I wish I could’ve had the chance to see him when he was here, but I hope he’s resting peacefully 🤍
Fuck I love this song. 30 years later and I never get sick of it. Chris.. Your music and singing was nothing short of mesmerizing and amazing. Rest in peace
This man’s voice was so beautiful. Another amazing artist that had more than one can ever want and need. Guess he like many more couldn’t live in their own skin. Deep seeded pain causes one to take their lives. Felt that way many times especially this last year and a half. Just seems too much sometimes!! Rest in paradise Chris Cornell! ❤️🙏
Janet Bellini a phenomenal musician who will live on in his music. I’m glad I got to see him solo and in Soundgarden. Both were perfect performances in perth 🤘🏻
Just because Chris was a big fan of led Zeppelin, I'll say this..I feel blessed that this world had two incredible Voices: first Robert Plant for generation of our parents, and Chris Cornell is the voice of our generation
You call me a dog, well, that's fair enough 'Cause it ain't no use to pretend you're wrong You call me out I can't hide anymore I have no disguise you can see through You say it's bad luck to have fallen for me What can I do to make it good for you? You wore me out like an old winter coat Trying to be safe from the cold But when it's my time To throw the next stone I call you beautiful If I call at all You call me dog And you tell me I'm low 'cause I slept on the floor And out in the watch with the badgers and wolves You threw me out 'cause I went digging for gold And I came home with a hand full of coal But when it's my time To throw the next stone I call you beautiful if I call at all And when it's my time To call your bluff I call you beautiful or leave it alone Yeah, you call me a dog That's fair enough It doesn't bother me as long as you know The bad luck will follow you If you keep me on a leash and you drag me along But when it's my time To throw the next stone I call you beautiful If I call at all But when it's my time To call your bluff, ooh I call you beautiful I'll leave it alone, yeah You call me dog
I love watching different live performances of the same songs at different points in time and hearing his voice change. Here his voice has a bit more rasp kinda breathy where if you go way back or just a few years ahead his voice is a lot cleaner. Really interesting.
He does it on purpose. That is why he is the greatest of them all. Depending on venue, scenario and feeling he will change the way he pronounces words and what pallet to use to sing. That is the treasure of having 4 octave range. You can make the same song sound unique every time. Most times he doesnt want the sound too clean. He likes to carry specific syllables to create a kind of sonic wave. It is quite remarkable.
This is a great song. He had so much talent. his performances were truly unique and his voice was so incredible. he could sing so many different songs, and that's what made him interesting. I like to watch his performances and it makes me feel better. can't think of anyone else that sounds similar to him. really sad he passed away
Unheard and underrated? I don't agree with that statement at all. There are a few artists out there that have stuff a lot of people never listened to, but Chris wasn't one of them. The only dud he ever released was that ill fated solo album produced by timbaland(?) He was already an MTV star by the time temple of the dog released this album.
@freshtendrills5969 I actually liked that album. I know most didn't but he was pretty good in that one too. I'm more of a a heavy rock type but I really did like Scream

They took him
This dude could have sang the phone book and it would have been a hit.
Why did he have a telephone on stage?
Jeff Buckley's Mum gave it to him after he passed away and he took it on tour with him after I believe for many of his solo shows.
Hey Jeff, this sounds so good! Well done :) - It would be awesome to work together someday!
dude was sweating
although I'm no equal, I think I came pretty close, done in one take: th-cam.com/video/GVOTaml9Lko/w-d-xo.html
