Tbh I really wish that John Lasseter made the other movies. Andy probably would've been the toys' owner still

John Lasseter directed the first two films. Lee Unkrich directed Toy Story 3 because Lasseter was busy directing Cars 2. John Lasseter was originally going to return to direct Toy Story 4. But he became to busy because he was still chief creative officer at Disney and Pixar (he later left Pixar because of the sexual harassment allegations). So Josh Cooley took over as director

Pixar couldn't make another Toy Story movie with Andy anymore because his voice actor John Morris got too old to play the role of him when he was a kid. That's why they chose to make the Andy character 10 years older in Toy Story 3 to match his voice actor who was 10 years older himself at that point. Now with Bonnie they chose to make her the same age but give her a different voice actress, that's one of my problems I have with TS4 is its lack of consistency with the timeline.
