I loved this episode. What a great and vibrant guest appearance. She should publish a book of her photography. Johns as always I enjoy your presentation. Wonderfully prepared and charming.
Very interesting! I don't live in Baltimore anymore but grew up there. I guess I took those signs completely for granted. Now I want to go back and find some of them. I am glad Lashelle is photographing as many as she can find ... or as many as find her.
Yep, there was one at the alley on Streeper St near Jefferson that is gone. There was also a building size painted sign in black and white on Mount Royal near the Fallsway for the Maryland Anti-Vivisection Society. Saw it every weekday on my way to school at the Maryland Institute. Thank you for your work!
Does anyone remember at the corner of Minnesota Avenue and Chesterfield just down the hill from Blair Road? There was a convenience store called Docs? There was a large sign on the side of the building of Bugs Bunny holding a tray of lunch meat? I would love to have a picture of that.
Thanks so much -- this was fascinating, and I loved Ms. Bynum's enthusiasm and dedication to historic preservation.
Thank you
I feel like so many things from our past that are slipping away, attempts should be made to coat and preserve any of theses fading works of art.
I feel the same way...Thanx
This is such a wholesome content! I love that both of you are smiling throughout the entire video! So glad I found this channel!!!
Sorry for the late reply, but welcome!
Thank you, Lashelle!!

My favorite is the Prohibition sign in Fells Point. Quite appropriate.
There was also one in "Little Italy."
St. Louis is FULL of these ghost signs too! I've been calling them "label scars" and started documenting them. Cool subject!
Would like to touch base with you about the ones in St.Louis. My email : ladorniap@yahoo.com
Those double ones are amazing - I can see the Stafford Hotel one from my window, and I love it!
Yes, I have Stafford Hotel. I luv that one as well !!!
yes, they are my favorites...Thanx

I believe i saw one on Eastern Ave. about the block before you get the City Hospital or Franco Scott Key if you goong on the direction of East point.
Sad when they covered the Brooklyn sign on the train bridge
when you pass over the hanover street bridge on your right once you enter into the city you see a sign about coal on the side of a building.
Going to find that one today, Thanx !!!
she was great
Wish they would seal these signs to prevent further decay or something, declair them a historical thing.
me too... Thanx, for looking
Personally, I'd like to see some restored.
I think Atlantic Southwest in canton was touched up on Boston st
you and me both.....
Very wonderful clip. Thanks. Can this fellows name really be “Johns Hopkins”??? I mean with his own prestigious university and all….
yep..
I drive by that sign every day. The building looks to be a church but has no windows.
The paint should be stabilized or there will be no ghost signs.
There's a really good ghost sign at Ostend St and Hanover St. intersection
Thank you for telling us!
Thanx for all the comments !! I will be going to photograph the ones that were left in the comments..Thamx, for telling where they are …..
Is your name really Johns hopkins? did your dad name you after the college?
Pompeii was destroyed in 79 CE (AD), not BCE (BC). But otherwise a great talk as always!
Impotent but could penetrate and hold hats too.
