Fighters and promoters say these things because they are selling the fight at the end of the day. Eddie being nice about Wilder does nothing but he makes a comment like " I don't rate Wilder" only adds fuel to the fire and creates more hype for AJ v Wilder and gets people talking like this comment section. These guys are always promoting in every interview, fight week or no fight week, whether it's for the present fight or one in the future. Money never sleeps.
Look the belts the belt at the end of the day but the true champion is the person to fight everyone in the division and take the true tests
As a hypothetical; assuming Joshua wins, Wilder loses and Miller wins this will inform the public demand for the next fight. So what Eddie and Joshua have said is entirely reasonable.
