I used to take tram when I was a kid living in HK island, I didn't like that because they were too slow. After watching your video, I wanna take a ride right now.

Great video of the Hong Kong Trams. I especially like the special Tram car in the opening & closing shots. Great job Luke!

I love to sit in the front upstairs and just watch life go by in the bustling city!

They are also great for cheap transport around the Northern coast of the island, only takes about $2.30 HKD last time I took it, takes about 30 minutes to go from Central Library in Causeway Bay to Central MTR Station near the Central Piers and City Hall

The least accident prone vehicle in Hong Kong and also the safest and most enjoyable.

The tram is best known as 'Ding Ding' by the local !

In your last shot of tram, I wish I could have been on board that tourism style tram bus!

James Wong I wish I could have ridden that open top tram too! I think it was chartered by a private group.

Luke Starkenburg The Hong Kong tram do have a website. Just Google it. Maybe you can find out more from them. I think they run the tram on the last bit of the video every weekends or something, and also on chartered basis. Just check it out.

Love your video, but I do agree on the everyday living costs, it's very expensive, especially if you live in an Asian country. Just hope that I can go there. They do plan to use the trams forever don't they?

There has been talk of removing the tram system or modernizing it, but I think it will stay in its current form for a very long time. Locals and tourist love it!

    • @endercomt2380
      @endercomt2380 4 ปีที่แล้ว

The talks about removing the tram is dead and people now talk about the police brutality in Hong Kong, but yeah the only thing that will change is that the rolling stock will be modernized or made to be air cooled

@@Luke_Starkenburg Indeed, why ruin a good thing? They did have a few ultra modern trams but didn't go down well and the idea was abandoned. For short trips there's no need for fancy stuff.

Are they going like every 30 seconds or are there just some heavy delays and thats why they`re queing up? And how did you like Hong Kong itself? Would you recommend it? Very nice Video once again!

Jan Bobrowski I definitely would recommend visiting Hong Kong; it's a great city! There is so much to do and see in Hong Kong as well as the surrounding area. Visiting the Big Buddha via cable car, hiking Lantau Peak, visiting the small fishing village, Tai O!

    • @Luke_Starkenburg

Jan Bobrowski the trams do bunch up a bit because of traffic and stop lights, but the trams do run almost every 30 seconds during peak times and in the middle of the route. There are multiple lines and trams turn around half way through. What you saw on the video is very typical, nothing out of ordinary. A few scenes were early Sunday morning when it is very quiet in Hong Kong with not much tram or vehicle traffic.

halo! Thank you very much for your video. It is great!
I am Joyce, a local university student in Hong Kong. Currently I am working on a self-introduction video for a job interview. in which i would like to include the 'dingding' sound of tram in your video. Would you please kindly allow me to do so? Please let me know in the reply below. Loads of thanks!!
