I bought this product a while ago for a fight game (tekken).
Input lag performance is really important for fight game arcade sticks.
When I connected wireless 2.4g to my computer, there was very little input lag.
    It's a great performance.
If you play street fighters and Tekken on a computer, this arcade stick would be a very good choice.

    • @rolux4853

      But how would that work?
Regular TVs are way to dark and slow for that.
Maybe the latest OLEDs with HDR could be bright enough to emulate the glowing phosphor.
I just bought a Samsung S95D and it is really bright, but I don’t know if its bright enough to trigger the photo cell of the light gun, like a CRT does.
      The second problem is latency.
Only analogue CRTs are latency free.
Modern TVs and monitors have very low latency, but it still isn’t zero and on the same frame.
The exact same frame however is necessary for the light gun to work at all.
Maybe they could develop a whole new technology for lightguns.
But I think if thats possible someone would’ve done that already.
We switched to less precise options like cameras and motion sensors when CRTs went away.
Just imagine a huge modern OLED with a Retrotink 4K and a working lightgun!
It would be the absolute best looking gaming ever!
Bigger and better than the original CRTs we had in the nineties.

I've been using the Switch/PC/Android version with Bluetooth and 2.4ghz on my Xbox for years now. All that's needed is an adapter from wingman. I'd recommend getting the "Switch" version of the arcade stick since it's only $89. Add the wingman adapter on there and it's a little bit more than the Xbox stick. But it also works on everything then.

This is pretty dope for a few reasons. That being the wireless part but also that it's xbox certified meaning it won't get banned in the upcoming ban wave. Also pretty decent mod options is nice. The price is low though in a world where other sticks kind of have fantasy land prices these days. It's not the most high end thing of course but 99% of people will be just fine with this as it is stock quite frankly.

  • @ADreamingTraveler

For anyone buying this for PC...this is 100% identical to the Nintendo style one they already released but it costs $30 more than it due to Xbox licensing fees. If you're getting this for PC get that version if you wanna save $30 since it's $90. This Xbox version is $120.
Also it's weird you say you were wanting to pick up this specific one because it works on PC when the original 8BitDo Arcade Stick this is based on was also designed for PC and costs $30 less. It's literally the same thing as this. The $90 stick actually has customized lights that change depending on if you're using Xbox layout buttons or Nintendo buttons which this one lacks

I purchased this and wanted to replace the joystick with a Sanwa joystick and it is not the same as the 8bitdo Switch PC version. I'm kind of lost on what to do. I did cut the solder wires off the joystick and I did try to splice the yellow wire together with the red wire from the Sanwa 5 pin cable and has a yellow wire that is ground too but did not get any direction input. I was told that I have to solder the wires to the PCboard for it to work. Really like this joystick and if it was very easy to mod I would like it better. Thanks for the great video!

Just do a google search for "8bitdo arcade stick review and unbox - NO SOLDER REQUIRED" to watch how to do it.

The updated 8bitdo Ultimate Software doesn't have the "Sticks" settings to change it from 4 direction to 8 direction.

Just got mine yesterday. Only complain is that the Joystick is WAY to loose for my taste. Trying to find a way to replace it without soldering.

Just do a google search for "8bitdo arcade stick review and unbox - NO SOLDER REQUIRED". I really don't know why so many people seem to think you need to solder? It's as easy as undoing 4 screws and pulling a cable out and connecting a new 5 pin cable.

Quick question, for street 6 I like to play world tour mode, am I going to move the camera around with this? Since it doesn’t have a “ right analog “ stick ?

    • @cjthespy
      @cjthespy ปีที่แล้ว

There is am option to use the stick as either right or left or if you set it to the middle function you can tap the top right map able button to turn right or left by taping that after turning the stick right or left. Just discovered this playing world tour myself. The button on the left side becomes l3 sprint in this instance too.

I wonder if 8bitdo will make an RC car like controller for racing gaming. where you have a mini steering wheel and buttons to control the game. that would be sick for those of us that can't use our legs with a legit wheel/pedal setup.

You should actually test the input latency on the wire. The Switch version has surprising results on the MiSTER input lag spreadsheet that indicate that wired is as slow as 2.4ghz which is actually 3ms slower on average than the Bluetooth connection. All of them are close to sub-10ms and playable though. The old wisdom that 2.4 gig is faster than BT, and that wired has no lag, is largely inaccurate and needs to be tested device-to-device. Search for the mister input latency doc. Links in comments are usually removed.

Depends on the design. Some arcades stick pcb's that'll def do 1ms. rp2040 is my favorite. Sub 1ms and open source powered. Better to build your own stick if you want the best latency.
