    I am a 73 year old White guy. I listened to Amos & Andy on the radio and I loved them. I didn't have a TV until I was in my twenties so I never saw them on TV. I did love this episode and I will be looking forward to more of them.

    I use to look forward each and every week when I was a kid to watch this show and laugh like crazy, extremely talented actors and writers, there was nothing wrong with this show, it made millions of people laugh, which was excellent for the human brain.

      It would be AWESOME if they used the technology they have available to them today and reproduce these episodes in color that gave millions of people laughter and enjoyment years ago, it would be one of the best if not the best comedy show ever produced for television, once again there was nothing wrong with these comedies, just brilliant actors and brilliant writers that made people feel good laughing and enjoying these episodes, why they took these episodes off the air I'll never understand.

    Loved this show growing up. Loved "I Love Lucy" and "The Honeymooners" too. All of these shows were hilarious Then someone decided it was racist and it disappered. My family is white and we never thought "Let's watch the black show". Everyone liked "Amos and Andy". I'm happy I can watch it again. It's funny as hell. A sitcom like any other about everyday life and the situations that arise. Love this show and feel the players didn't get the recognition they deserved. They were great!!!

      Bookum Danno my white uncle adopted 3 african american kids from chicago. When nobody else wanted them. They are adults now one fought in afganastan, another is a social worker working with the poor and another is a fashion designer. In ww2 at the battle of okinawa a black sailor named s1c jimmy wade from east texas saved my dads life from a japanese suicide plane attack! If your going to cry racism the look in the mirror! If americans cant get it together then the country will fall from within and the world falls under a dictatorship! Question: what are you doing?🗽

    Tim Moore (Kingfish) and Spencer Williams (Andy) were great. I watched this show when I was about eight years old.and I loved it. It compared to other slapstick shows like Sid Caesar and Imogene Coca and I did not look at it as racist and insulting. It was a funny show. No sexual suggestiveness and foul language, just good clean humor. Let's stop judging the past by today's standards.

    I just love these ladies and gentlemen that were apart of this show. It was because of political correctness that it was taken off the air. What a shame to break the heart of a little fella. that got so much enjoyment with this comedy This is where I learned that black people were real and funny. I thought, and I still think, that they were/are hilarious and that these folks were/are great comedians. (Yes, I can see where someone could find a problem with them but, I say, "It's in the eye of the beholder". These shows are [still] cute and funny. 😊

    Thank you Mary I did to whatever happen to common decency allowing people to give an opinion about a subject and then leave it be you aren’t attacking them they act as if the people they are on a video or whatever as if the person is there mom and they will scream at you over someone who certainly doesn’t know you not really does the defenders . I really should cut that kind of negative behavior out of my day I don’t hurt anyone I’m 65 years old and I don’t believe in this behavior and most likely aren’t either so you have a very wonderful Holidays with your family and I’m going to enjoy my beautiful family and the day the lord gives us to be kind happy and healthy and we loved the program on our old worn zenith tv 📺 which I’m not sure if you remember or not not everyone had a tv my families aunts and members couldn’t afford that they were old an on pensions so as a large fam does momma would always cook something wonderful and relatives would come for a visit an if something was special on they would visit eat snacks an watch the snowy screen 📺 until something happened and a program would come on to entertain us for a bit and then we turned it off and we all went to the screened in front porch my uncles an aunts would tell family stories and now an then ghost stories and it was wonderful I wouldn’t trade a moment of my childhood for we had love friends kindness and if we needed to be corrected as children any single or uncle a adult family would correct you and you were always feeling very uncomfortable with them watching over . I believe people have forgotten about what matters and it family friends respect love life and my goodness never behave like these folks do on TH-cam. Today I was disgusted at that man attacking the other over that ancient innocent show those folks were actors an it was there job but that man was sickening and disrespectful immoral behavior women were on there but he did not care. I decided not me I’m going . Take care please excuse my reasoning for the way I feel about today . You have Very Merry Christmas and May God Bless you mam I m sorry I’ve kept you so long Thank you 🙏

    I happen to be white --- and I was in an all black bar on Chicago's south side back in the 70's, and we were talking about TV -- and I mentioned that I missed Amos and Andy since the reruns had been taken off the air. You'd have thought I just said the "n" word ...dead silence! I looked around. Everyone had heard me and they were staring at me. I said, "What? ...What did I say? Something wrong? ..." One guy gave me a look of disgust and went back to his conversation. Another rolled his eyes. The guy I had been talking to said, "Not cool, man." I was really taken aback and tried to explain that I surely meant nothing wrong. It was a comedy, wasn't it? Yeah, they were black and the Kingfish and Andy were portrayed as a couple of dumbbells, but surely no worse than Ralph Kramden and Ed Norton ...Right? Finally, the guy explained the problem. It went like this:
    Yeah, Kramden and Norton were dummies, but that was ONE program out of a hundred. Andy and the Kingfish were dummies too, BUT it was the ONLY black TV program on the air !
    Well, I got the message -- loud and clear.

    What? Nobody bellyaching about how "racist and wrong" this comedy is? I'm amazed!! Too bad they can't rerun this stuff because it was funny. We used to come home from school and watch it in the late 50's. Never have been able to see the difference between A&A or Sanford and Son, Beverly Hillbillies or All in the Family.

    This is one of the really good Amos n andy tv episodes .for those who are familiar with the original radio episodes lightnin was absolutely hilarious everytime he appeared in radio but the TV lightnin was presented as an idiot or fool ,also I beleave the TV king fish andy and Amos were perfect in a select few tv episodes of which this is one where they were realy compatible with the original radio show

      @mwilliams1330 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      You realize the radio show was white men portraying black men. The TV show was produced by the creators and actors of the radio show, the actors for TV had to be black. The writers were all white, and often just reused old radio scripts adapted for TV (common practice for many shows brought to TV from radio, see jack benny, Dragnet, Gunsmoke, etc.)

    Great television show. I believe they had to put darker makeup on Alvin Childress who portrayed Amos.
