Mine will TX on 27mhz but only put out about .5 watts and a bit more on 28mhz not really used it on 27mhz will do and have a play and see whats happens
Funny....a 2E0 (UK) who make a video bout the clone of the clone of the McHF from M0NKA and no mentioning him is....well there's a "special skill" on Amateur Radio, and it's called Ethic . Sorry, you lack on it .
@@2j4ez The point I'm making IS, it wouldn't get FCC type approval because of this. Besides my Yaesu 1000MP does most of what this can do, except digital.
Bought one couple of years ago. Switched on and listened only, no mic ever attached. Ran all of 10 mins then blew the main IC. Supplier didn't want to know. Left it too long to get eBay or PayPal help to recover money. I advise avoid. Seems the problem is poor quality, unreliable components.
i am going to have one of these. seems like a good kit. very portable, and a lot cheaper than the 705.
5:30 ON USB it receive CW signal but in CW MODE it doesn't receive signal, why?
I was donated one of these and this video is great as up until now I’ve not been able to get away with it. Mine is in to a efw
AM mode is possible? With MODE BUTTON I receive only SSB and Digital. there is not AM.
Another informative video Jez. Nice one. Looks a sturdy little rig.
Why is not possible to set LSB or USB in freedom? It set and block the mode in the band.
Bonjour. Pouvez-vous me dire si le rs918 fait tx sur 27Mhz ? Et la puissance sur 27Mhz ? Merci cher ami
1.115 KHz doesn't receive AM signal, he start to receive at 2,5 Mhz when the color of the frequency is white?
great kit, i have one, but they're generous with the output power spec, more like 5-8 watts max,
It should be 15w more like 5-8 and even lower on 10-11m
@@2j4ez its not that great an issue portable, i'm looking at the matching 50w linear too👍👍
Nice bit of kit Jez.
yes it seems a good radio ill try connecting to my mac or my linux machine
Great Video, Nice kit.
Wondering what antenna your using.
Looks like it picks up HF very well. 1548 UK-Gold ;-)

it was just connected to my 11m antenna just for receiving only if i use a ATU my 11m antenna will do 20m
Have fun with it Jez 👍👏👏
I've never before heard anyone use the term Carrier Wave. CW stands for Continuous Wave.

If you transmit on 27MHz it transmit (I receive signal in a near radio) but non appear power or swr signal meter. Why?
Mine will TX on 27mhz but only put out about .5 watts and a bit more on 28mhz not really used it on 27mhz will do and have a play and see whats happens
I see that the spec doesn't mention 11m, but you said at one point that it does TX on 11. Will it cover the entire UK40?
Yes it will tx out of band and will cover all uk 40
@@2j4ez mine will tx on 11m but does not put out correct wattage, only does 50mv on 11meter. any idea how to change this.
@@26DR715 Ive not tested the wattage on mine ill have to test it on 11m

Hmmmmm, transmits out of band!! I doubt it would get FCC approval here in the US, I'll stay with the big three.
You can turn the option on or off so if you tx on 11m it won’t tx

@@yauwohn You should ( like everyone else ) get the original McHF from M0NKA .
Better off with a xiegu g90 - cheaper, does more, auto-tunes, etc.
