Oh thank goodness. I've been hunting around for Aussie booktubers with similar book interests. Your accent makes it easier to hold my sorry excuse for an attention span. So many of these are on my TBR. The used bookstore is my vice.
The Powder Mage Trilogy is one of my favorite things ever 😊 Aaand again, to make you feel better: my kindle library is completely out of control with over 1.000 unread books. 🙈
Wow! Lustbader brings me back - his thrillers were some of my favorite books. When I was 13, though, so take that with a grain of salt. I strongly suspect his writing won't hold up, but I hope I'm wrong.
Hamilton is super interesting. First 3-4 books were pretty solid urban fantasy, then it took a heavy erotic turn. I read and enjoyed at least the first dozen.
You have to read Katherin Kerr! Her Deverry Cycle is one of my favorite series. It's a story with reincarnation as the driving force of the narrative. I actually created this channel so I could talk about the series. I uploaded an introduction video to the series. The sad thing is "The Red Wyvern" is actually book 1 of Act 3 in the series. Technically it is the 9th book in the series. You need to start with "Daggerspell." If you like audiobooks they have 1 audiobook that contains the first 4 books of the series all in one. Also, I've enjoyed your channel. When I have more time, I hope to start posting more videos myself.
Ohhh thank you for the heads up! My wife actually has Daggerspell but that 4 book combo is mighty tempting! Thank you for the kind words! I’ll check out your channel 🤩
I have City of Brass and The Lies of Locke Lamora on my kindle... have been there for years... still need to read them. And so many people are telling me to read Kushiel's Dart... I may try to get a physical copy of that if everyone says I will enjoy it.
Ohh, I also have a Maggie Furey that I picked up second hand ages ago that I really should get to. Poppy Wars is one I want to get to too. A Darker Shade of Magic I really loved when it came out, but I never actually finished the series, and I probably won't go back to it. I will read Fifth Season and Jasmine Throne probably next month and am very excited for them! I actually loved Kushiel's Dart - it does drag in places and there's definitely things about it that scream 90s, but even as a very ace person, I actually read the entire trilogy twice even though it's so chunky
@@AFictionalEscapist I hope you enjoy if and when you read the series! Oh, also you mention a discord a few times in some videos but I can't seem to find an invite, does it no longer exist or am I just missing something obvious?
ExCusE MEEEE, how have you not read Gentleman Bastards yet?!?! And A Chorus of Dragons!! Get on those!!!! Other ones I have highly enjoyed are Notorious Sorcerer (read it for the queer panic), anything by VE Schwab, and The Chronicle of the Unhewn Throne. And for me, Kushiel's Dart, The Gutter Prayer and Soul Keeper are high on my TBR as well!
Oh god not the Chronicle of the Unhewn Throne.... lolol I am actually pretty good at reading my physical books I am somewhere around 75% of my owned TBR I have read I also feel personally attacked that you still haven't read Guilty Pleasures, and the series is only up to book 30 so.... NOT 40 or 50 lmao
And Notorious Sorcerer. Absolutely one of my favorite series!
Good to hear!!! I love the covers and the premise!

Welcome in and thanks for joining!!
Katherine Kerr is AMAZING!! Also love Brian McClellan and Furies of Calderon is really great too!
Good to hear about Katherine Kerr! I realised my wife also has Daggerspell after filming this video!!!
A lot of these look awesome - I have a few myself. I am full of shame myself 😂

1000! Daymnnnn I think that even tops my insane number of unread books 🤣 last I checked I was close to 600
@@AFictionalEscapist well... Yes, it's insane :'D enough to read for the next 10 years yay 😂 👍

Oh that’s interesting about Kushiel’s Dart! You’ve made me more curious (I also love me some 90’s vibes 😅) happy reading!
