I don’t think people truly grasp just how exceptional those pilots were. The footage of the crash indicated a complete lack of elevator control and a severe phugoid oscillation. I cannot imagine what was going through the minds of the pilots on that flightdeck, but the fact that 32 people survived is a testament to their skill under nearly impossible circumstances.
It was 100% shot down. Other footage shows exit and entry holes. Which rules out an inboard detonation. Given the damage pattern is fairly even, with no high damage concentration indicates it was not a device on the outside of the plane. This only leaves a shoot down, nothing else.
There was an ongoing Ukrainian drone attack on Grozny, they have been in the news before, air defence was active. The pilot maybe did not have enough fuel to divert, regardless flying through airspace during an active air attack with active air defence is not advised. Similar to MH17 in Ukraine, no other plane was flying there, it was closed airspace due to war, no one knows why MH17 flew through Eastern Ukraine. Russia also wouldn't allow the plane to land in Kazakhstan. the Azerbaijan aircraft declared emergency and asked for permission to land and Russia denied it, thats why they were forced to circle and ditch into the Caspian sea. Russia was probably hoping the evidence would sink and dissappear.

It’s likely the damage to the hydraulics systems and the damage to the rear stab had the pilots fighting to control the aircraft at all and choose the easiest option with regards to “choice” of airfield in which to attempt a landing at. The fact the decisions they made to attempt a crash landing near an airport ensured that some passengers had a chance of survival. There’s a similar story of an aircraft landing without hydraulics in the US. The damage was to the same part of the aircraft too, resulting to an engine fan exploding and it’s blades piecing vital hydraulic lines.

The only in flight damage I could see came from video recorded in the cabin, yet everyone is talking about holes in the tail which CLEARLY were not present before it crashed into ground covered in rocks, as seen in HD footage of its flight prior to impact where it can be seen listing to one side, gaining and losing altitude several times.

I want to start by saying this first and foremost: *Let the investigation run its course*. I was working media in Donets’k in 2014 so this brings back haunting memories of MH 17. I do feel that this looks like the same thing as then considering the damage shown is reminiscent of any SAM where the missile doesn’t actually strike the aircraft, but uses a proximity fuse to blast pellets into the target. This has happened on a number of occasions, though it is sadly at least the third shot down mistakenly by Russian forces, the others being the aforementioned Malaysian Airlines flight MH 17 hit by a Russian Buk-2 missile and Korean Airlines flight KAL 007 which was shot down by a Russian Su-15 after straying off course over Sakhalin, an area a USAF RC-135 was operating near and the Russian pilot only identified the 4 engines of the aircraft and assumed the worst. It happened recently in Iran when they mistakenly shot down Ukraine International Airlines flight 752, and further back when the US Navy ship USS Vincennes shot down Iran Air flight 655 not trusting the transponder having picked up a radar return from an Iranian F-14 at the airport at the same time as the Iran Air flight was leaving. The fact is, jamming and signal masking are being used by both Russia and Ukraine right now and these could have played a part or, like the other flights shot down, it could simply be down to a mixture of uncertainty and urgency. For all my anger at Russia for the war that has taken several friends from me, I do not believe there is anything more than mistaken identity as with all the others shot down and though those responsible in all of the previous incidents have never been held legally responsible, it may be less easy for them to live with the personal guilt each may feel, though I cannot do more than speculate on other people’s empathy and emotions. Right now we have some clear signs of what happened, but the CVR will give a clearer picture of what the crew were dealing with after being hit. There’s a lot of similarities to the way United flight 232 came down with 3 pilots doing their best to control oscillations with the remaining engines until the breakup on landing, though as with this flight, there were many survivors as a result of the flight crews actions. It holds more similarities with the DHL A300 cargo flight shot down out of Baghdad in 2003, though crippled, the pilots managed to bring that flight back around. Sadly it seems this flight couldn’t manage the same but it does seem clear that the pilots were trying everything to the very end from flight data and witness reports. That’s rubbish. You need to stop getting your information from call of duty. Proximity detonation AA missiles simply splatter the target with debris. That can be seen here. It takes out vital systems of the aircraft, leading it to eventually crash, which it did.

This isnt the 1940's with anti aircraft shells. Russia's modern air defence systems can track and identify hundreds of targets at a time and would have destroyed this plane at altitude leaving it to plumet to the ground with no survivors. This aircraft broke up on hitting the ground. It deployed its oxygen masks at altitude and then decended to low level fligh as the mobile footage shows. To early yet to call it

Well don't fly passenger planes in a war zone and since Russia invaded Ukraine you need to consider all of Russia as a war zone.
Russia also wouldn't allow the plane to land in Kazakhstan. the Azerbaijan aircraft declared emergency and asked for permission to land and Russia denied it, thats why they were forced to circle and ditch into the Caspian sea. Russia was probably hoping the evidence would sink and dissappear.

It was hit by a Russian weapon. It’s likely the damage to the hydraulics systems and the damage to the rear stab had the pilots fighting to control the aircraft at all and choose the easiest option with regards to “choice” of airfield in which to attempt a landing at. The fact the decisions they made to attempt a crash landing near an airport ensured that some passengers had a chance of survival. There’s a similar story of an aircraft landing without hydraulics in the US. The damage was to the same part of the aircraft too, resulting to an engine fan exploding and it’s blades piecing vital hydraulic lines.

"early indication" = comment section of youtube thinks that holes in an aircraft which just broke apart on rocky ground, with its entire tail section doing a forward flip at 100+mph look like other holes in light aluminium which were cause by missile blast fragments, so that is definitely likely probably hopefully what happened. Intelligent indications suggest the crew reported a bird strike, not some Russian agents. Sanity also indicates that wing flap track fairing damage and perforations to the cabin behind the wing are consistent with mid air disintegration in operation of a jet turbine engine which ingested something other than air. The only in flight damage I could see came from video recorded in the cabin, yet everyone is talking about holes in the tail which CLEARLY were not present before it crashed into ground covered in rocks, as seen in HD footage of its flight prior to impact where it can be seen listing to one side, gaining and losing altitude several times.

This will be a little long so if you don’t like long comments, move on and don’t tell me it’s too long and you didn’t read it, since that’s your choice and I don’t need to know. I want to start by saying this first and foremost: *Let the investigation run its course*. I was working media in Donets’k in 2014 so this brings back haunting memories of MH 17. I do feel that this looks like the same thing as then considering the damage shown is reminiscent of any SAM where the missile doesn’t actually strike the aircraft, but uses a proximity fuse to blast pellets into the target.
This has happened on a number of occasions, though it is sadly at least the third shot down mistakenly by Russian forces, the others being the aforementioned Malaysian Airlines flight MH 17 hit by a Russian Buk-2 missile and Korean Airlines flight KAL 007 which was shot down by a Russian Su-15 after straying off course over Sakhalin, an area a USAF RC-135 was operating near and the Russian pilot only identified the 4 engines of the aircraft and assumed the worst.
It happened recently in Iran when they mistakenly shot down Ukraine International Airlines flight 752, and further back when the US Navy ship USS Vincennes shot down Iran Air flight 655 not trusting the transponder having picked up a radar return from an Iranian F-14 at the airport at the same time as the Iran Air flight was leaving.
The fact is, jamming and signal masking are being used by both Russia and Ukraine right now and these could have played a part or, like the other flights shot down, it could simply be down to a mixture of uncertainty and urgency. For all my anger at Russia for the war that has taken several friends from me, I do not believe there is anything more than mistaken identity as with all the others shot down and though those responsible in all of the previous incidents have never been held legally responsible, it may be less easy for them to live with the personal guilt each may feel, though I cannot do more than speculate on other people’s empathy and emotions.
Right now we have some clear signs of what happened, but the CVR will give a clearer picture of what the crew were dealing with after being hit. There’s a lot of similarities to the way United flight 232 came down with 3 pilots doing their best to control oscillations with the remaining engines until the breakup on landing, though as with this flight, there were many survivors as a result of the flight crews actions. It holds more similarities with the DHL A300 cargo flight shot down out of Baghdad in 2003, though crippled, the pilots managed to bring that flight back around. Sadly it seems this flight couldn’t manage the same but it does seem clear that the pilots were trying everything to the very end from flight data and witness reports.

That’s rubbish. You need to stop getting your information from call of duty. Proximity detonation AA missiles simply splatter the target with debris. That can be seen here. It takes out vital systems of the aircraft, leading it to eventually crash, which it did.

Russia's modern air defence systems can track and identify hundreds of targets at a time and would have destroyed this plane at altitude leaving it to plumet to the ground with no survivors. This aircraft broke up on hitting the ground. It deployed its oxygen masks at altitude and then decended to low level fligh as the mobile footage shows. To early yet to call it
