- Custom Knife Making: The Drop Point EDC knife with a hidden pin construction system.
Thank you for joining me on my channel. Today, we will be making a Drop Point EDC knife, using a hidden pin construction system, to not spoil the laser engraved handle scales. I made this knife using 5mm 5160 steel for the blade, 6mm Carbon Fibre tube for the pins and natural Micarta for the scales. Feel free to use whatever you have available or prefer. Don’t forget to like and subscribe.

Thank you Martin!
Dit lyk moer nice.!!
Baie dankie! :)
I love to see that you are a freehand grinder! Thats a good skill !
I try...it's still a skill I have yet to master...I suppose in time I will get there. :)
Wouldn't be out of place if I saw it in a high-end sporting goods catalog and/or retailer!
Thank you. That would be pretty cool.
I really like the build
All your hard work making the knife but the time to make the video do you make sheaths for for knives and are they man made materials or leather if so do you have any videos on the sheath makings
Thank you for watching. Yes I do make sheaths for all my knives. I use both leather and kydex. I will do a sheath making video in the future sometime.
Hey what was the oil you used on the handle at the end? Thanks!
That is boiled linseed oil...will probably get better results using it on wood than on synthetic material...but it looks good none the less.
Very nice , what is the brand of epoxy you are using and where can I get it in SA?
Thank you Michael. I use the "Bob Smith industries" slow cure epoxy. You can check out www.zeesknifesupplies.co.za. Keep well!
Hi! Good day Sir.. Im Kevin from Philippines .. Im just wondering if I could ask for old project knives that you made that you almost forgot and dont use?
I will be joining the ARMY next month it will be a great boost of moral for me 😁
Hello Kevin...thank you for watching...I don't have any knives lying around unfortunately. Good luck with your service in the Armed forces!
Where did you get that punch?
I bought it a my local hardware shop. Most hardware and automotive parts shops should have something similar
where do i buy this knife
I am sorry, this knife is spoken for. Thank you for watching.
What of the scale on the other side? 😂
What do you mean? It looks exactly the same. The piece of micarta gets split in half, one half for each side of the knife...
As a asmr lover I would suggest to duplicate this video without telling and include in its title “asmr version”. It might get more views. Like Florian potter does.
Interesting idea...thank you, i will try it.
Noticed you drilling holes in the blade on the drill press holding the blade with your bare hands. I WOULD STRONGLY CAUTION ABOUT THIS. I almost lost a thumb when the drill bit grabbed the steel and spun the blade at 2000 rpm into my hand then flew across the garage as I bled all over the place. Eight sutures to sew my thumb resulted so I only drill using a vise or clamped securely now.
Yes this is true, I learned that same lesson a long time ago. You dont really see it on the video, but i always drill on the slowest machine speed. If the drill bit bites into the steel its too slow to spin the blade and stops the chuck from spinning altogether. Also onviously never drill something with a sharp edge.
Full work, do you have a facebook?
No unfortunately not, but you can find me in Instagram.
Hello, hey do you have an email address that I could get in touch with you. I am a columnist for an outdoor magazine and I wanted to reach out to you
