  • Day 34 | Exodus 7:14-9:35
Ben and Michael take you into the heart of Exodus 7-9, where God unleashes the famous plagues against Egypt-not just as a judgment on Pharaoh, but to prove that the gods of Egypt are powerless before Him. You’ll see how each plague directly challenges a false god, revealing that only Yahweh is sovereign. But this isn’t just history-it’s a lesson for you today. What are the idols in your life? Whether it’s money, status, or security, this video challenges you to examine where you place your trust and turn fully to God.

This is the first time that I have heard about the plagues being directly confronting gods of the Egyptians. That is a great learning point. I had always wondered why these specific plagues. This shows the value of the podcasts! Thanks for the new learning for me today gentlemen!

One of the things I noticed was twice Pharaoh asked Moses to pray for him to get him out of the plague. How many times do we ask God to remove something and we will do whatever. He does and we don’t?

These were stubborn people. They had to be shown. Nations today?

Why did GOD allow His people to go thru the first three plagues?

I think He knew they had to be shown, He sees the future through hearts.

God is working through a calculated plan that allows Him to show greater, greater, and greater power, so that all of Egypt (and beyond) will know and fear Him (and, by extension, His people). Originally, He brings plagues but then He basically says "Just to show you how powerful I am, I'm going to partition My people off so that only your people suffer." God's people also needed to know His power, and they feel it firsthand in those three plagues. While not the primary reason for sending the plagues, it was important for God's people to know what He is capable of doing when He is wrathful.
