Dang, I wish I hadn't done my kitbashed Italian Paratroopers. That would have been fun. Combining British bodies, Polish Airborne heads, and a mix of Italian and German weapons.

Hey Jordan! I saw your kitbash contest for this year, I had a couple questions if you’d be so kind to answer them 🙂 Firstly, what are the boundaries with 3D printed parts and miniatures? Do we have to put the 28mm miniatures on their respected warlord games sized bases? Or can we make them a small diorama? (I usually use plinths to create a scene) Are we allowed to do show characters, like from band of brothers, the pacific, masters of the air, and etc? What’s your grading criteria? What earns the most points, kitbash level? Paintjob level? Creativity? Story? I’m sorry if this a lot haha, just a big bolt action hobbyist that enjoys contests haha. Was also thinking of bringing more friends to compete too!
Hi there! These are great questions! 3D printed parts are definitely allowed! Any medium really is appreciated, they all have their place! The miniatures don't have to be on game bases, but diorama elements won't be judged as part of the contest - just the miniatures themselves. Characters are great! I've seen a lot of historical inspiration this year, and inspiration from film is very welcome too! Grading criteria is pretty subjective, basically we are just looking for out of the box thinking! I will have a panel of judges who will choose their favorites, so everyone might be looking for something a little different, but i wanted to encourage creativity instead of having strict scoring criteria! Paintjob will not be graded, except that the model must have at least three colors, just because sometimes rough converting/ sculpting etc can be hidden a bit by grey plastic. hope this helps! Can't wait to see what you come up with! Deadline is April 1!
