Most unique course I've played was a 9 hole course with mach 1 baskets that were rusted and the elementary school used it as a playground. I did make a course on my college campus with random targets
Oh ...the duality of disc ⛳ Seems like hell or heaven sometimes Mostly heavenly Such an oasis of tranquility and our sanctuary for an amazing and healthy hobby Hunter thanks for capturing this wonderful and resplendently interesting content!
Growing up in West Texas, crossing the Mississippi River was a rare treat reserved only for long family vacations. However, since moving to the Twin Cities a couple of decades ago, seeing the Mississippi happens almost every week. Taking up disc golf a couple of years ago, I have been very pleased to find that there are disc golf courses right on the banks of the Mississippi. It is amazing to walk up to a tee shot or toss one into a basket, only to turn and gaze out on the river and think about its over a thousand mile journey to the Gulf.
I got to play an 18 hole temporary course set up on and around the USS Alabama battleship in Mobile, AL. There were 4 or 5 holes on the battleship itself with some strategically placed nets to keep discs from going overboard. (many went over anyway lol) The rest were on the grounds of the battleship memorial that played all around old fighter jets, tanks, and WW2 landing craft. It was a lot of fun with families and children having a blast throwing frisbees, eating snow cones, hamburgers, hot dogs, and fireworks show after dark. Really cool disc golf experience.
I live 15 minutes away from this course, so I go here quite often. I absolutely love Silver Creek, and it's nice to see it get some recognition. Oh, and you didn't butcher the name Manitowoc either, you got it spot on 👌 hope to see you back in my neck of the woods at some point
Man, Silver Creek looks like the dream 🙌🏻 and a great looking opener to the video ✨ My disc golf resume is brief, so I don’t have a lot of variety as far as courses I’ve played. However, I would put Live Oaks course in Sumter, SC as one of my unique course experiences. It’s difficult for me to describe its uniqueness, so I’ll just sum it up with one word-whimsical. Thanks Hunter 💫
MAN, wish you gave the silver creek cup layout a chance/ would of brought a full experience/ an better visuals/ with top of the hill throw to the river/ it had short pads for use as well. but glad to see you enjoying the home course of Silver creek. lots of options with with 36 holes. an great place for all levels! enjoy your videos keep it up!
Whoa, where the f is the hammer and what are you putting with. Seems to be going in well for you! I was just in Green Bay for a wedding in July. My buddies sister told me to go play Silver Creek. The day I showed up there was an event going on. I walked up to the 1st guy I saw and said hey is there a tournament going on, he said "Yeah, the Silver Cup!" Cale Leiviska and Paul Oman just teed off and they are lead card, final day. Then he proceeds to tell me he's the videographer for the event and he drove me around on a golf cart for the next 3 hrs watching Mr Smooth and Taul Paul. That lighthouse hole is an unreal place! It's like your in another dimension where disc golf is God. So glad you got to see/play it. I am still blown away by it!!!!
Wow, that sounds like an amazing time! Those are hammers! Just finally got some in a different color! I show them in my "in the bag" video from last week!
The ants you were stepping on were genus Formica. Not the happiest ants on a good day, let alone when you accidentally mess with them! Most unique course was probably a temp course in downtown Peoria just before Ledgestone. Ace Race with a brand new putter they haven't even released the name of yet. It was a lot of fun trying to get the hang of the (flippy) putter while playing near the Illinois River. Otherwise probably The Canyons at Dellwood for most unique course (so far). Silver Creek has been on my want to play list for a while, so it was great to see you play it through!
I've heard about dellwood a few times! Are you the bug expert ? I wanted to message you a few over the last little bit! I thought we had a message thread, but I couldn't find it!
"We are going to full send our Sol " is one of the most unsettling things to hear out of context while passing by, or at least that's what my wife just told me. Lol!
Elkhart Lake is my hometown glad you enjoyed your visit dude! I heard about this Silver Creek being a bit of a mud pit on wet seasons but it looks good in this vid. Great shooting!
Silver Creek normally doesn't get bad at all. There's a few spots with a natural spring, and even that's not too bad. In 2020 when Lake Michigan was near record high, 3 holes flooded at one point after a rain storm. This year, even a day after a bad storm, conditions are fine.
@@pwebb34 agreed. Unfortunately, being a natural wetland, the state has heavy restrictions on what they can do at Rollin Ridge to help the problem.. and most of it is extremely expensive
Silver Creek has been on my wishlist for about a year. Mostly because it’s on that top 100 list and only ~5 hours around and down for me. Too many UP courses on that same wishlist for it to happen this year. Not really that unique, but we did toss our discs into the canoe and paddle over to a course. We played the 9 hole The Memory in Atlanta and then paddled back to the truck. Have also paddled to Deerfield in Mt. Pleasant to play. Cheers
nice video! - beautiful piece of land you're on! it's a ways from you, but if you're ever traveling, look up "trophy lakes dgc". the entire course is around and over water . . . and wakeboarding😎 - unlike anywhere else i've ever played.
Appreciate the course review! Would love to see a Creekside 18 course review along with the Pro Layout. Very fair review of the course, we are working on getting things updated before the 2025 USWDGC is held there. Feel free to reach out!
He used some short pads, but for the most part, criticisms were fair. I cannot tell you how many times I've seen people standing at 19 and teeing off in a random spot. We have thought about installing permanent teepad(s) on that hole.
@pwebb34 no, it's my home course and I'm part of the crew that run Silver Cup there. I'm also part of the 2025 USWDGC committee. So I don't work for the city, but I'm involved.
Absolutely gorgeous course!
The intro was a nice touch. With a course that nice, I could play that a couple times a week and not get board. Great choice!!
I agree with that 100% glad you enjoyed the B-roll! I love making it!

Most unique… hard, but whiskey hills on Memorial Day weekend. Fairway to Heaven has one of those amazing Lake Michigan holes

Who knew Wisconsin was known for more than just cheese?
Bonus points for "beware of ticks" nowhere in sight.
Absolutely all the ticks took the ferry to michigan
Knock on all the trees, but ticks aren't very common at that park.

No, I didn't, but I am starting to look into that if I take another big trip this winter! It's not cheap!
Beaver Creek in CO at 11.5k feet is the most unique place I’ve played. Nothing like mountain golf.
I played solitude in Utah, not sure the elevation on that one but it's up there! Definitely an experience!
