My mom and dad went ballroom dancing. My dad died when my mom was about 68. She went ballroom dancing again a bit later and she enjoyed it. Got her out with friends. It was a good time for her until she hurt her knee. She was quite the fashionista until her death at 95. The tattoo is lovely. Sorry for your loss.

my grandmother passed away the beginning of november. she was more than a grandmother to me, she, like your mom, was my best friend and my mom all in one. like your mom, she wasnt judgemental and was a huge supporter in me starting my youtube journey and was one of my first subscribers and always wanted to know about new dolls coming out.

as for tattoos, i love them. i was 18 when i got my first one and at 34 i have over 50, getting inked is just as addicting as collecting dolls lol. your tattoo is beautiful!
Hi Melissa, firstly I cannot explain how much joy watching you brings me. From 2015 when you taught me adults collecting dolls were cool and then to helping me so much with my mental health journey from learning about your own, and now to just feeling that you are a very bright light in the world where there’s a lot of darkness (“be the light house!”). Thank you so much for your videos!
Secondly, I haven’t got any tattoos but as someone in my mid twenties I got my ears pierced for the first time ever yesterday, which is something I never thought I would ever do but love that I did it!
And lastly I hope you are as okay as you can be in this time and that you and your family are well.❤
I'm so sorry for your loss. I've lost two uncles last year. One died on June 20th during my Niece's graduation. He somehow fainted and could not be saved. And the 2nd one died on December 6th from pneumonia and Braindead.
I just want to offer my condolences. I'm happy you were able to be there with her in the end. I went through a very similar situation/process with my grandmother a couple years ago, and I wish I got to be there for her more than I already was.

Also, I agree; screw it! Haha. The other people who would "judge" you have no bearing on your life, and don't pay your bills, so pay them no mind. It's a really good advice to prioritize yourself and do things that make you happy.

It's always so nice to spend time with you, chatting and looking at dolls. Your channel is one of my ultimate comforts, and it was really nice to see you again today. My condolences on the loss of your mom. You spoke eloquently about her, and your memorial tattoo is stunning. I have four tattoos myself (got my first at 25, took a 7 year break, and then got the other three), and it was certainly hard for me to overcome other people's expectations of me and their opinions of me based on my tattoos. But at the end of the day, I felt like my biggest regrets in life had been the things I had not done and wanted to do, not the things I had done. I'm so glad that this is a journey that you have started for yourself, and I cannot wait to see what other gorgeous art pieces you get!

I’m so so sorry for your loss. My mum is my best friend too and she’s 58 and disabled so I’m cherishing every day with her. She’s so supportive, she buys me dolls for my collection, she’s amazing. I love your channel and you inspire me so much. I’m getting matching tattoos with my mum soonish 💕

Im disabled, and people often judge me for having tattoos and piercings because its not a common thing to do (they say) when using a wheelchair. But I think that this life is way too short to live like others want you to live. Have a Merry Christmas!

My condolences for the loss of your mother. My mom passed away when I was 25 years-old, and because of several factors, I never got a chance to spend much time with her in the weeks before she died. So, it sounds fortunate that at least you got to do that. You seem to be on the right track for healing. Knowing when to say, “Screw it.” is a good start. I’m sending good thoughts your way.

First, Melissa, I am sooo about your mom 😢 I'm sure she's incorrectly identifing animals in a greater place and in peace LOL (hopefully that's not insensitive, I think she'd appreciate it).
Secondly, I ADORE the interview with a vampire show! The movie is good too, but imo the show is way better mostly because the characters are more fleshed out and there's more going on, and also LOUIS AND LESTAT ARE ACTUALLY CANONICALLY A COUPLE which I love! To be fair I've never read the book/books, so maybe there's stuff lost in translation so to speak, but yea, just my thoughts. I got my first at 16/17 in my state if you had parental approval you could get one. It was a lil blue bird, and i since gotten a few more. I love them sm! They oddly comforting and the end result is beautiful !

I got my 1st tattoo when I was 19 but it was with my mom who got her 1st tattoo for her 50th birthday(that was back in 2010). It was something she'd always wanted to do but never had so we went together. I've got 5 now, my 2nd of which is a blue butterfly. I love the design of yours, very pretty.

I’m sooooooooo very very very sorry about your loss. I completely understand. I lost my mom who was also my best friend on December 8th 2020. Grief can Be long lasting and life-changing. Life is short, so we should all learn to enjoy each day as a gift. And yes to do things that bring us joy my mom teacher of that too.

I'm so very sorry to hear about your mom. I wondered if her health had worsened, since we hadn't see you for a while. I know how close you were and I know how much you'll miss her. May her memory be a blessing. ETA: I have 7 tattoos (and would have more if I wasn't on blood thinners) and got my first one when I was in my 30s. I love them! Yours looks great, can't wait to see the next one!
I'm so sorry for your loss ❤ what a lovely tattoo! I got my first 4 months before I turned 18 and kept going. Today I have a full sleeve and another one in the works and both my legs tattooed. It's very therapeutic.
First, I’m really sorry about the passing of your mom. Even the way you said mommy kinda brought me to tears.
Secondly, thank you for all of your inspiration to just find joy in life. I’ve been lacking a lot of joy in life and I plan on bringing that back because of you.
Thirdly, no tattoos as of yet but I am planning (sooner now because of you) of getting a version of Glory from “Buffy the Vampire Slayer”’s line about being crazy, calling herself the One Eyed Chiclet in the Kingdom of the Blind. I’d say how I’m doing it but I’m torn between two designs, but rest assured Chiclet’s will be on my arm. Yes the gum. 🤣
Lastly, I’ve been up to working a buttload as a doll collector with two service jobs. I can’t say that I find joy in either of them, but they provide me with the joy of new dolls so I’m kinda at a crossroad job wise. Doing therapy and psychiatry appointments regularly and making sure the physical aspects of getting older are in check. You make me want to live a long, carefree life. I'm so sorry to hear about your mother :( She sounds a lot like my mother was. We were also very close and I lost her three days before Mother's Day two years ago. I sadly, wasn't able to be there when she passed and have felt so bad that I couldn't. It has been a hard road for me and I wish I could have looked at things the way you do. I'm happy you have found such inspiration, and are reaching for joy in spite of losing her.
