So excited to make these. We’re in the UK and my partner is from South Africa, he hasn’t had these since he’s been over here so can’t wait to make them for him for a little taste of home ❤
Im so glad you are going to give it a try. You won't be disappointed! I also have a milk tart recipe video that is so South African. Let me know how they come out!
HI I'm from South Africa I've been living in New Zealand for about a year now and I love your recipes to all of your food can you PLEASE make droewors or BILTONG ❤
Hi Selena. I used milk from the fridge (So cold) and I keep a bottle of filtered water (Room Temperature). I don't think it will make too much difference, just make sure your syrup is very cold for best results. Are you going to try them?
Couple of questions on this, it is not necessary to kneed the dough? I have seen recipe's with egg, butter and milk and you have to kneed the dough and leave it for couple of hours before you can bake them... Is this not necessary with this recipe?
Not necessary to kneed the dough in this recipe. I filmed it as I made it, no extra steps. If you follow the instructions they will be delicious! Thanks for the comment.
I never measure the temp of the oil when I cook these. I do a test piece before doing a whole batch. As long as there is a bubble like in the video you are good to go. Just give them a turn after they are golden to get both sides! Have you ever made them before?
@@youreasychef Hi , never made them before but I am to start because I want to make them in Russia as part of my business.

You can leave in the syrup for about 60 seconds.
Love it❤️
Proudly South African!
One of my favorite foods from SA! 😍😍😍
Have you ever made them yourself? They are a different level to store bought. The freshness gives a melt in your mouth texture.
@@youreasychef yes! We made some just a few weeks ago actually. First time making them on our own 🫣 so good!
Amazing! Now you need to try my milktart / mulva mashup! You will thank me after😉
Does the water and milk need to be cold or warm

Vivienne, are you a qualified chef or a self made chef?.Either way your food looks delicious.
