I too, like looking at my wardrobe as a shop, my shop. Some may think it looks more like a thrift store, (LOL) but overall, I am grateful for what I have.

Thank you so much for this video! At 43, I'm just starting to get a better handle on my personal style. It was painfully bad. Like, everything-everywhere-all-at-one. It's ok. I'm not mad at younger me. The rule of three is especially helpful. I'd really appreciate more like this and also help with fit.

Maintaining/caring for your clothes is critical to style development. Also noticed the huge impact that your accessories have on each outfit. Please make an updated bag, shoe and sunglass video for. ♥️

Yes accessorising really is key too! Will definitely note it down for a potential video, thanks! ❤️

Great video! I love my clothes, for the most part, but like everyone I fall into feeling bored occasionally when I am stressed or don’t take the time I need to plan my outfits. I don’t mind the effort because it is also my creative outlet. Thanks for the reminder that this time is always worth it!

Hi Signe, great video. I've just donated to the neighbours some of my stay-at-home pieces that were good quality but out of style/frumpy-looking, I used to wear them around the house and even as nighties but I ended up hating the way I looked when I looked down at my body or caught myself in the mirror, finally I had enough and thought I deserved an upgrade. I would like you to make a video about stay-at-home outfits that still look nice and you're happy with when cooking, doing a bit of cleaning, etc. Most days even when I don't go out, somebody always sees me, a neighbour, an unexpected visitor, a delivery person, I still want to be dressed but maybe not wear my very best blouse when I'm making pasta sauce or light gardening.
Nighties are also a challenge, I don't want nighties that look like nighties, more like smart stretchy, skimming (but not shapeless) dresses. I am always cold so long sleeves, no pastel colours or patterns/Disney characters/florals that scream, "Nightie!" Any ideas please (that last but don't break the bank)?

Styling videos can be found anywhere but you are the only one who has shaped my perspective around styling in a healthy way and made it actually fun rather than stressful. Watching you feels relaxing and I take away so many ideas which I can personalize for me. Thanks for making me love what I have and buy what I know I'd love❤

I love shopping my closet and finding new ways to wear my clothes. I have 2 sometimes 3 personal styles so that totally works with style my original wardrobe

I do the same thing - I don’t put anything back into my wardrobe unless it’s 100% ready to wear. This makes getting dressed so much easier! Plus, clothes need to air and dry after steaming or damp-ironing or they just crease right away when we put them on. I just leave everything that needs attention, like washing, ironing, polishing, etc. in the little laundry area we made in our garage. I love it because I can leave my ironing board up there, along with my full-size steamer, drying lines and racks, and shoe-care stuff. An adjacent tiny room holds my sewing machine, table and supplies (I do my own alterations, mostly). I don’t put clothes in the dryer, it wears them out fast, so I have a big stand fan in my laundry area that cuts the air-drying time in about half.

"Effortless style" takes a WHOLE LOT of effort. You have to think about fashion and style so much more than the average person, so you can "easily" dress without any fuss.😅

My point exactly, it takes effort! But I also believe it’s doable to get there with more ease (in time) with the right knowledge and practice😄🙏🏼

My basics are simple dresses, and to a lesser extent, skirt outfits. I know I’m in the minority on this one, but because of my straight, narrow shape, I just can’t get a reasonable fit in trousers/jeans and shorts, so they’re really uncomfortable. I love the simplicity and comfort of a dress, to which I add accessories and generally, a blazer, my favorite jacket style. “Basics” or “essentials” are different for each person, I rarely want or would wear anything on those “essentials lists”. I also can’t wear any synthetics, even in blends, which complicates my wardrobe choices and definitely increases the cost, too.

I like A-line denim skirts for summer and also denim shirt dresses that I can wear with several buttons undone and a graphic T-shirt showing underneath. I also wear linen dresses and skirts, nothing too shapeless or boxy though and no pastel colours or big patterns/florals

We get conflicting messages about style, we are told to look both “effortless” and “intentional”. I tend to favor the latter, outfits are wearable art and putting them together is the greatest fun.

Practice and feeling confident and comfortable wearing them makes them look effortless as you move freely and naturally. The worst is when you wear a special outfit for the first time and you are so careful with it, it makes you look uncomfortable and self-conscious. That's why it's important to wear your clothes, get dressed every day, take a little time to try different outfits, hopefully we'll be happy with what we are wearing before going out and facing the world but also when you are just staying at home by ourselves.
