I have been learning so many things in excel as I was involved in my internship in the very initial days of my Chartered Accountancy course and until now when I'm actually a Chartered Accountant. I'm so grateful and delightful to know all the brilliant smart things in excel from you and the best part is the Wow said by my colleagues when I use these new things in excel (not only shortcuts) which they got to know from me which I had learnt from you........Thanks for your support......Hope you will be teaching us more all the time..!!!
This top 10 of all could become the next hot video series...top 10 excel short cuts..top 10 excel mistakes...top ten excel interview questions....Top 10 excel functions...and so much more
My ten selections : Ctrl T for tables, Ctrl Shift T for totals on tables. Ctrl (move a lot) and direction keys (arrows, home, end, pgup pgdn). Shift (select) and the direction keys. Ctrl Shift and direction keys. Ctrl space to select columns. Shift space to select rows Ctrl + insert Ctrl - delete And the most useful, Ctrl Z. ... And f2, f4, f5, Ctrl Shift L, Ctrl alt L,... I just can't choose.
Hi Chandoo.. very useful video. I use each of your examples on a daily basis. I would also consider CTRL-Z for undo and CTRL-Y for redo as essential. There are so many good ones. You could easily make the list longer.. which happens naturally.. the more you work with EXCEL. Thanks for the insights. Thumbs up!!
There was time I was scared of excel during my childhood days and thought will certainly do something in my career where excel is not used. And my father scolded me one time why I ignore excel and I felt shy since I was growing and took it is as a challenge for myself and today I rate myself above 7 out of 10. If 10 is maximum .Chandoo classes is an added advantage for me .I love my excel also because of these classes as they are easy to remember. One request while explaining formulas pls maximise the screen for us to see in detail though the explanation is good.
I am glad that I use all of the 10 short cut key in my day to day work and good hands on,except F9 something new for me. Thanks for sharing knowledge Chandu.
Very very useful, thank you so much. One more suggestion for your kind consideration: "alt + =" very often used for summing up. Shortcut for the function: autosum
Hi Chando, I wish I had found your channel years back. Although most of these shortcuts are basic but I was not aware of few 2 years ago when you uploaded this video. I am now watching all your videos and learning alot.. Thank You so much! ❤
Thanks, Chandoo, awesome as always. 2 things from my experience. If we do Ctrl+A it will select all. Similar to Ctrl+shft+8 but much quicker. Another one is the paste special dialog box. Instead of ctrl+Alt+V we can also use Alt+E+S which is from old school excel and still works well with latest versions. I am sure many veterans might be using this now also.
Great tips. In fact, I too use ALT ES (and usually follow it with v - values, t - formats, n - links or f - formulas). As most people starting with Excel are not familiar with key sequence concept, I chose to talk up CTRL+ALT+V :)
Hey Chandoo good to see you after long time.i used to browes your blogs since 2010..Happy to say that i knew all of these formulas except Alt+Shit+8..instead used Ctrl+A
Chandoo you are awesome! I have been on your email update list for years and have showed many others how awesome your tips and tricks are, keep up the good work my friend.
you are UNIC,with your fine sns of humor...and timing for thuse jokes....when the circuites of brain are ready to be burned..it comes a joke .BRILLIANT!
This is brilliant...I thought I knew alot of shortcuts...but this had some I didn't AND they are all perfect for what I do!
1) ctrl t - Create tables
2) ctrl d - Fill down
3) ctrl shift L - Apply / remove filters
4) ctrl arrow keys - Navigation around worksheet
5) ctrl 1 - Format anything
6) ctrl alt v - Paste Special
7) f2 - Edit a cell
8) f4 - Change ref. style / repeat last action
9) f9 - Recalculate / evaluate portions of the formula
10) ALT key - access everything on the ribbon
huh, i've only used 2, 3, 4, and 10
Ctrl+shift+8
I used all except 9.
Thanks
you saved our 10 mins. 😂

Hi Chandoo, I always thought the D in Ctrl-D was for Down (from Fill-Down), as R in Ctrl-R is for Right (from Fill-Right)
