  • World of Warcraft can be a fun game, but assuming a tank or healing role can be a bit intimidating sometimes. For me, it was healing. I've loved healing in the past (wotlk), but since then I've mostly been a DPS main, only picking up healing occasionally when needed in raids, and I've never pushed mythic+ keystones as a healer.
    Recently, I've been wanting to heal again and play resto druid, but I was feeling really anxious about it. Until I found yumytv's resto druid video. So, here's how it changed my (WoW) life and helped me get through m+ dungeons like uldaman and azure vault.

    its so fucking easy to get healer anxiety these days man, people ignore mechanics and just expect you to deal with it as if they didnt do anything wrong. keep at it bud.

    • @IkazuJapan
      @IkazuJapan  3 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Yeah, the +2 uldaman that the video ended on actually had more than a few deaths, and we didn't actually time it, but looking back as I edited most of the deaths were just people not knowing mechanics and at the end one dps was even complaining that we didn't time it. Like, if they knew the mechanics, they wouldn't have died resulting in less time lost. I wasn't mad, cause you win some and lose some, but it's frustrating to even think about dealing with people like that.

      @@thegoldhuman9875 Thanks for this comment! I'm loving resto druid! Despite our hero talents not seeming as cool/flashy as others in TWW, I'm def maining resto/balance! I don't have many questions right now, but for sure if I do I'll ask! Thanks for the encouragement!

    I’m glad you found Growl. He’s a great resource. I tried to pick up MW at the tail end of season 4. Got into a nelth +2 and we wiped on the chain boss 2 times and then the tank quit. The first time I picked up MW was season 3 but I remember doing +16s. I also learned that for me as a healer, higher keys tended to go more smoothly due to “generally” less avoidable damage taken by the party.

    • @IkazuJapan
      @IkazuJapan  3 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      @@Doesin yeah, the chain boss can be a bit tough, especially if people don't know what to do with the chains. Most wipes seem to be mechanic related as opposed to being unable to keep up with healing. This season's starting point (lower keys) is certainly tougher than before since key levels were squished, so they're much more punishing I think.

    hey man Ive been healing for many years and its normal to feel anxiety. I used to play resto druid and I loved healing raids in WoD but I always hated healing dungeons coz it just wasnt that fun. In DF I tried my resto druid and even though I had some experience from the past it just felt like I was always behind and people were slowly dying. Sometimes it's worth to try to play a different class. Sometimes it's worth inviting some support players like a decent retri paladin who can help you out with some dispels, bubbles and stuff. It's great if that buddy knows how to heal coz they will keep their eyes at party frames and jump in any time its required so its less on you and with time you will gain some understanding and confidence. Helpful people in your group are always great to have. I main resto shaman now and it feels great. Everyone is familiar with me and they all feel safe. But I can rely on my group so no one is afraid. Good luck buddy!

    i started healing in SL on my pala that i raid led mythic with. i was super nervous at the start but healing is a experience thing. the more you do it the less scary it becomes. I also start talking smack back to the dps in my party if they blames me for them standing in stuff with "sorry bro, cant despell brain damage".

    This was my first ever season maining healer and I love it. I'm feeling really confident in m+ up to like +4 but I've found raid way more intimidating. Maybe I'll give it a shot this week.

    • @IkazuJapan
      @IkazuJapan  3 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      @@real.creature1 Wow! My healing opposite! Give it a shot, it's not as bad as m+, especially now at the end of the season, you can probably get into a group that is listed as "quick run" and most people will be really geared, making them quick fights with less intimidating healing.

    • @real.creature1
      @real.creature1 3 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @IkazuJapan gave it a shot and you're right, raid healing isn't so bad. The only hard part has been finding a tank who knows the fights 😅

    Keep up the hard work man, it definitely comes with more time and practice. Awesome to see you kept with it! Keep up the grind, and remember at the end of the day WoW is just a game, you can beat it, even if it's healing.

      @IkazuJapan I started dragonflight actually being apprehensive about tanking since I hadn't done it in MoP. I went back into it and now I pull large packs like a champ!
      When it comes to healing, Ken thing I keep in mind is healing first then damage. Master how your spells work and weave in the damage. I'm a cheater and play disc when i heal tho 😋

    • @IkazuJapan
      @IkazuJapan  3 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Nice! Yeah, in my dungeons, I've just been focusing on heals and leaving damage to be second nature. The most mana-efficient way to damage as resto druid seems to be cat form, but I get a bit flustered switching between forms cause I'm not used to it yet. Wrath spam is also ok though, so I just focus on damage and then get off a wrath or two when I can.
      Disc is actually very enticing! Voidweaver looks really aesthetically pleasing in TWiW too!

    I've recently decided to try healing too, tried holy paladin but the class fantasy for me is a bit meh. At the moment leveling a resto shaman.
    Would love to check out your healing m+ videos in the future.
    Though, adjust your speaking voice to be a bit louder in the videos. It's hard to hear if you're doing something else on your other monitor at the same time e.g. playing wow.

    when your heals do nothing, and the damage incoming is massive, it feels real bad. Just remember, not all deaths are your fault. People have defensives for a reason

    Incoming tank nerfs... how does this make you feel?

    • @IkazuJapan
      @IkazuJapan  3 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Honestly, I haven't looked at them yet. I saw that Dratnos made a video on them, but I haven't had a chance to watch it yet. Just starting healing, especially in low keys, I feel like the tank isn't usually the issue, it's the DPS that take more damage because they don't do the mechanics. Atm at my level, as long as a tank uses a defensive every now and then, I don't have a problem keeping them alive, so a bit of nerf probably won't change much, but we'll see how it shapes out.

    • @Aikicyoaz
      @Aikicyoaz 3 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@IkazuJapan yeah they are cutting tanks defensive layers and self heals. So you will now have to focus more on keeping the tank and bad dps alive

    • @IkazuJapan
      @IkazuJapan  3 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Hm... Well, I'll just have to roll with, since there's nothing I can do about it. Hopefully it's not an insane change that nullifies the increased health pools in TWiW, since that was supposed to be their fix to smooth out healing.
