Hello Dennis, my apologies for late reply. October is good it’s the starting season. You can do casting almost everywhere. For shore use medium light rod, serie 1000/2000/2500 reel with 12 lbs braided & fluorocarbon. Lure soft lure 8 cm with 7 gr jighead. Hope it helps
@@dennispratt3344 i use 12lbs line braided line. Yes some people use bread or other baits like worms or fish but i do not practice this type of fishing. I use only artificial lure like soft paddle tail or rapala hard lures.

The thinner and lighter the setup is you will be able to cast more far!! Now there are different brands lile noeby, shimano, daiwa etc which has different prices depending on your budget. I advise you to pass by Techspot at rose hill. They will advise you bases on your budget!!
