I have adhd and i got my degree in psychology with criminology specialising in learning difficulties so for study tips i have quite a few: pomodoro method (30 minutes of study 5 min break or 1 hour of study 10 min break) combined with the forest app (plant a tree and if you use ur phone the tree dies - the longer the study session, the bigger the tree); 'study with me' videos (i use 'study with merve' because theyre super long) - these are useful for people with adhd because they simulate the accountability of having another person studying with you so they keep you on task (theres research supporting this); noise cancelling headphones are a must because it's another buffer between you and getting distracted by your environment (lofi and indie folk music worked best for me with these but it varies from person to person); a book where you can give you can put literally any information pertaining to your topic (not like notes for studying just everything you think of in the moment cause with adhd you get fleeting thoughts and then theyre gone so giving them a space to live is super helpful- especially during essays, in case you think of something that you want to write about later or you suddenly remember an important learning objective) -post-it notes are alos good for this but with just the key points. good luck with your studying!!! xx
@@RhiannonAshleeVlogs The absolute MOST helpful tip for studying as a neurodivergent person is to apply for whatever disability program your university has. You just get a note from the doctor who diagnosed you and you can get extensions on assignments, extra time on exams, all sorts. during the pandemic i learned that i'm autistic, and i have elhers-danlos syndrom, POTS, and fibromyalgia. having the words to explain what i've always felt is SO incredible and i'm happy for you that you're going on this mental/physical health journey and allowing yourself to feel your feelings and being patient with your body and brain. i've been with you for over a decade now rhiannon and i'm endlessly mindblown at how similar we are as people. proud of you, keep going 🤍
I realised I was autistic last year at the age of 27, its so lovely to know I had neurodivergent representation without realising (you as one of my long term comfort youtubers) and I wish you all the best with your journey and starting a new academic venture!
Congrats on starting your course. I was the same in school turned up well until I was 14 then dropped out now knowing it was my ADHD since then I gained my BA and masters degrees from studying from home I found it so much easier doing it from home working around my own brain. Wish you nothing but luck in your study adventure x
I feel so proud of you rhiannon!! I've been watching you since the fashionrocksmysocks days. So glad to see you finding your feet again. I'm also going through neurodivergent/ chronic illness struggles (the exact same).... I hope to be where you are in life one day 🧡🧡🧡 watching your peaceful life is such a comfort for me. Also jealous of your coat
Treat study as a 9 to 5 job go into uni or library and work through the day schedule in break times. If you feel lazy the hour challenge works for me I have to study for an hour and then get a break where I go for short walk or get a coffee. Then repeat it. I have ADHD too and find it hard to maintain motivation levels. I have 2 degrees now a miracle in its self like you did not apply myself at school but seemed to be able to coast through never really achieving my full potential wasn’t till I was a Mum and in my 30s studying what I loved to make it easier to commit and focus to achieve. Getting out of the house to study during the day helped no distractions and because I got my work done it left me time in the evening for family time.
Learning how to study is a big part of starting university. There is no right or wrong way, it's about figuring out what works for you. For example, I used to write concise summaries of each lecture, in a way that I could go through it before the exam and use the summary to learn by heart or even do calculation exercises on the topic. It also depends on if you are a visual person or maybe an audible person. I am a visual person who likes to draw graphs and use different colours. This way my brain remembers better. A friend of mine used to record his summary and listen to it like a podcast to study for the exams. I'm sure you will find your personal style! Love your videos! Xx
I do not have ADHD but I struggle with concentration and memory problems after an operation in my head five years ago. That made me doubt myself and my ability to go back to school. Eventually I mustered up curage and now I am almost finished with my degree. My tips for studying is to take the pressure off, do not compare yourself with other people and how much they study, take lots of breaks. I meditate 5 min before I start studying to clear my head and 5 min at the end of my day to wind down. I also record classes on my phone and listen du lectures several times instead of taking notes. I find that it is easier to remember things if I listen with eyes closed. I hope my english is understandable. It is not my first language. Wish you the best of luck
All the love to you Rhiannon, I have CFS and man is it difficult.. not only physically but mentally also (so many ups and downs) ADHD ontop of that is so hard to manage, but from my experience managing is the best thing and taking it step by step :) You're doing great and I love watching your videos ☺
Hope you're not too nervous for your degree and good luck! I was in a very similar situation, also did fashion but since my ADHD diagnosis and starting my undergrad in writing (now knowing how brain works), Uni has been a breeze. Definitely let them know of your circumstances though and accept available help in terms of extensions. Strange tip but printing everything out and making up folders per module etc has helped me enormously making everything more tangible/serious.
I have adhd and the only way i can study unfortunetly is when i feel motivated to do so. so when i'm not motivated i try to inspire myself to, so i watch study vlogs on youtube, a short video on the topic to get myself interested on the subject, and have a list of >why< i'm studying that (at the moment i'm studying korean and my why is so i can understand the artists i like when they are doing livestreams...), so when it gets boring i try to remind myself of the end goal. I also learned that i don't do well with methods that have pauses in the middle, like pomodoro, when i get in the flow i can't be interrupted, so i have accepted that one day i might study for hours and hours and others i cant even be bothered, is just how my brain works
Khan Academy might be more US-leaning, but I found it to be a great resource for catching up on science and math stuff, if you’re looking for study aids! Good luck with your class!
I was diagnosed with fibromyalgia a few years ago by a rheumatologist and I completely relate to what you say about feeling like you have the flu, I always feel like I have a virus or viral fatigue and you feel generally rubbish I do find pacing myself, resting when my body tells me to but also trying to exercise and keep strong is helpful Look after yourself ❤
so run down atm with a stubborn chest infection that’s lasting weeks and this has just cheered me up, i’m looking forward to watching and unwinding with this vlog💖✨
If you create a shopping list in your reminders app, it will automatically categorise the items into shop section and the sections are in the rough order of the supermarket! ❤
Just catching up with your videos! I stated a degree in Nutrition this September after 10 years out of education! It's so nice to see other people starting late as well. We have just about finished our chemistry and will be doing biochemistry in January. All the science is quite overwhelming but just give yourself plenty of time to go over it, watch you tube videos, google things if you need it explained differently. But it is SO refreshing to be learning about stuff you're genuinely interested in! And some of the science stuff is quite interesting - even if it's not related to nutrition. Good luck girl!
I am also dyslexic, ADHD and I am Autistic. I have a degree in biology with a specialty in Human physiology. The best tips for studying for me were: (1) I put a few drops of rosemary oil in the binding of my school books, rosemary is very uplifting, energizing and helpful for memory. Also, smelling it helped me to shift focus from the rest of my life on to studying. (2) I found highlighter pen far too jarring to highlight important facts in my textbooks or notebooks. So using a small ruler and a mechanical pencil, I would underline important bits in the text and write keywords or abbreviated notes in the margins. When reviewing time came, I could just focus on the underlined and annotated bits. (3) I would treat myself to special teas to enjoy while studying, peppermint was my favourite as it was uplifting yet calming at the same time. Best of luck in your studies, you are a very intelligent young lady and you will be fabulous!! Cheers!! P.S. I am so happy for you that you have a diagnosis that will hopefully lead to the kind of support and help you deserve and need to improve your health and life!!
Loved this vlog! Just wanted to say that I (and I'm sure everybody else as well) really appreciate the effort you put in your videos and everything you do 💕 Wish you good luck on your studies and on your journey dealing with your health issues 🫶🏻 We're all here for you and cheering you on!! Lots of love xx
Such a cosy vlog 🥰 things that helped me study were doing a bit each day even if it was 10 minutes because it’s so horrible putting it off and then having to do like 3 hours worth all at once 😅 also maybe set a timer where you’re not on your phone etc then when the time is up have a walk or coffee etc ❤
You are the only TH-camr I watch regularly, I really enjoyed watching your videos. Your videos are very comforting, I always looking forward to watch it. ❤❤❤
going back into education as an adult is so commendable! I did an access course last year and i'm so proud of myself. If i had gone on to complete a degree then the course fee would have been wiped - hope it's the same for you
I LOVE your videos, they just make me happy.❤❤ Take it easy and if you are not feeling great, just take your time. Just hope you are feeling better ❤❤❤
The best channel on yt, I am here before you and Doug moved in together, you were my flatpack making hero, that is how I found you! I am happy for you that you have a diagnoses, it is a lot, but now you do not have to beat yoursellf up for being sick!! And perhaps you can learn what the best way of coping with it is for you! As long as you are making videos,😉😉Lots of love from perhaps your oldest sub, I am 65,now I sound like a pervert, but I am a grandma from The Netherlands
It feels very nostalgic to be able to watch new videos from you this often again, I've not been following the updates as much these past few years but I'm absolutely loving vlogtober 🍂🖤
Rhiannon, I can see you being a nutritional therapist. You are clearly really interested in food and nutritional eating. I do think it is easier going to school as an adult because you have more of a sense of self, self confidence and a good few years of managing time in daily life. Making lists to tick off one at a time is a helpful way to not feel overwhelmed with the workload. Go you!
Enjoying your cosy vlogtober-- missed seeing your vlogs and glad you're back. As someone with chronic illness I 1000% get what you are saying. I find the toughest thing about it, is not so much the pain, but the complete lack of energy to do anything...I'm so sorry you're experiencing that too. Throughout the various vlogs where you've shared some of your symptoms, I've noticed that there are a lot of similarities to what I've experienced as well. After a few years of trying to find out what was wrong, I also saw a rheumatologist and was also diagnosed with fibromyalgia and chronic fatigue...however, unfortunately the doctor at the time (I was only 17), gave me no other treatment plan other than taking painkiller. So I continued to find a doctor that could offer more help and answers to my issues. Eventually, after exhausting a lot of tests, I found a very knowledgeable doctor that listened to all my symptoms and tested me for Lyme disease, which came back positive. I found out that around 60% of those diagnosed with fibromyalgia, in actuality are dealing with Lyme disease because the symptoms are extremely similar. It was a long road for me to find this out and going to a lot of different doctors, so on the off chance, if this information might help you find answers and treatment sooner, then I just wanted to share it. I could be completely off base, but if you find the fibromyalgia treatment is not helping you, then you might want to look into the possibility of Lyme disease, since they have almost all the same symptoms, but different treatments protocols. Best wishes, and I hope you find all the answers and healing soon 💕
It’s funny you say that because I’ve always worried about Lyme disease and with all the tests I’ve had, I don’t think they’ve tested for that. They did test for Lupus which was negative but have been told it could still be brewing.. I’m keeping my fingers crossed it’s not!! Thank you for taking the time to comment and I hope you’re feeling as well as can be (I can’t remember the last time I felt fully 100%) xxx
At University I struggled quite a lot with the quick classes/teachers throwing information after information/nothing written on the board and I didn’t know why. Then I started taking notes, writing everything the teacher’s were saying and it helped me so much - turns out I am a visual learner. I need to read/write to fully understand. That’s why I don’t go well at all with audio books, I just can’t focus 😂 So, you asked for a tip: Find out which kind of learner you are and adapt the studies to it. It made a huge difference for me 🌷
I have adhd too! I was diagnosed with it this year at 31, even though I thought I had it for a few years before. I feel so much more confident about myself and have learnt more about who I am since. I’m going back to uni to study a psychology conversion. I’m really passionate about it so I know it’s something I’ll do well in
So excited for you to start this new chapter! My son and Delilah are the same age, your vlogs were such a helping hand for me always. I went back to University in 2019 and became a fully qualified Midwife last September! The studying and navigating everything in between can be challenging but you’ll find your rhythm and take it easy on yourself. I found keeping a small whiteboard in my study room to be really handy as it helped with breaking down lectures/topics down myself as well as brainstorming to be very helpful. I used to pretend I was teaching a lecture myself which was so useful! Found lots of informative videos on TH-cam to help too if I need to further break down a subject. My iPad and pencil were great for keeping everything together in the one place whilst being able to add diagrams- I used GoodNotes. Really important to figure out what learning style suits you best- try out the VARK questionnaire online! Best of luck as you start this new venture, I’m so excited for you ☺️🎊
US subbie here - My most universal study tip is to invest in cute stationary you’ll love to interact with to stay excited about learning. I love the paper and small binders from Kinukuniya 💕
I’m just catching up on your vlogs and oh my gosh it made me so emotional ❤ I can’t tell you how happy it makes me to see you posting again. If it’s not too personal, can I ask what made you want to go into nutrition? I really hope (somewhat selfishly - I’m in recovery from an ED) it doesn’t change your outlook on food and impact the wonderful relationship you currently have - one where homecooked meals sit alongside regular treats and processed items without guilt or fear, and there’s no demonisation of UPFs or sugars or fats etc. It’s such a rarity to find nowadays online and it would be devastating to see this change x
Honestly, that’s one of the many reasons I wanted to become a nutritionist, is because I want to help people have a better relationship with food whilst helping them reach their goals (whatever those may be) and ignore all the misinformation out there x
Some helpful tips ! I color code all my note books or use the Notion app To color code my classes in files and have the professor name and class number on the back of the notebooks . It helps when you have so much to remember . Set up your notes by week so, week 1 , week2 , week 3 etc … Good Luck I was so nervous to return to school at 28 years old but I enjoy my classes so much and I’m getting wonderful grades 🎉
Have had Chronic fatigue syndrome and fibromyalgia for over 30 years….. as well as endometriosis. It’s tough having invisible illnesses. Pacing is key… something that’s easier said than done. Especially as a single mum of two neurodivergent children. Xxx
I never really comment on videos but today I just felt I want to. I have been watching your videos (it feels like) forever :D I love your easy going style, your personality and I'm always so happy when you post a new video. I just want to send you love, big hug and good luck with your studies! 😇
Please look into eds & pots as your diagnosis symptoms are likely very similar to these. Also both pots and eds are very common in people who are autistic/ADHD, I am currently waiting for assessment for both 😊
For chemistry I would do a lot of extra practice problems! And don’t over think it, I personally loved chemistry. Also as a person who went back to school in my later 20s I had to re teach myself to study bc everything seems so different! I used to write everything down for flash cards when I was younger until I discovered quizlet!! It’s seriously a lifesaver!
I'm Audhd and was the same in school and uni. I'm currently doing college course and have learnt since having kids that the night before isn't working anymore for doing work 😂 so I give myself deadlines and "treat" myself as an incentive for any question I do. Even if that's just watching a TH-cam video and a cuppa. Works well for me. Also making a list, loving an app called Finch, as I feel a sense of accomplishment and accountability from ticking off tasks! Good luck on your course 😄
I myself am also chronically ill and I think the most difficult thing is having really good days and then really bad days and never knowing when which will happen and trying to properly convey that to everyone. I wish you luck in seeking the proper treatment! It’s not easy ❤
Yes I am chronically ill too and really agree 💜 Can also be tricky to get doctors to understand, especially when part of the 🦓 Ehlers Danlos & Co illness community. Plus have overlapping conditions. x
Hey Rhiannon! So glad you're posting regularly again. Just wanted to ask what colour your Clyde Trench is in? It looks kind of like a dark brown in the vlog, but can't seem to find that on their site. Thank you! ♥
I was diagnosed with both chronic fatigue/ME and fybromyalgie with 11 years old. It didn't really help though since there is no treatment and most doctors back then and still today smile at it and think it isn't a 'real' disease. I hope it will be better for you now that there has been more research and talk about it after long covid popped up. I have been bedridden since I am 17 but I also have a very long list of other severe autoimmune diseases such as Morbus Addisin, Psoriasis Athritis, extreme Osteoporoses and my body does not produce antibodies. I am a total wreck am in a comatose state for around 20 hours a day and need help 24/7 most of the time. My very rare best days are still spent only lying in bed but in less pain with a bit clearer head and slightly less exhaustion. Don't take my case as an example though. I know a lot of people with your diagnosis that still lead an extremely productive, 'normal' and fulfilling life especially with your wonderful supportsystem. I hope you feel a bit better knowing it's not just in your head. As we with 'invisible diseases' are so often shamed into thinking.
I have a friend with fibromyalgia and she often will go do cryotherapy. I know know not everything works for everyone and you probably have a lot of suggestions being thrown at you, but wanted to put this out there in case you wanted to look into it.
It must be such a relief to have a diagnosis of fibromyalgia. I hope you can find strategies to help you. My sister in law has fibromyalgia and finds massages help. Deep tissue massage, rest and being kind to yourself if you need to take a step back from doing things. I’m really interested to hear about your studies. Good luck with it all and well done!! 😊
I love watching your videos ever since the early TH-cam days!!! Aka leather jacket, ballet flats, bird cage on foot days 😘 I was wonderkng where your cozy bathrobe is from???
That's very me how your mind is about learning.... I wasn't the best at school either 😂 but cause I know I HAVE to do certain things I'm making myself 😂 I also have an 8 year old 😂❤ have watched since delilah was a baby ❤❤❤❤❤❤
The brand is Le Parfait and come in all sorts of sizes. You can find them online but some places really hike up the price. I’ve found one shop in my town that sells them and another in Brighton (Utility). If you’re ever in Homesense, it’s worth having a look as I found some in there recently too x
I’d say they’re true to size, as I got a size 6 because they didn’t have my usual size 4 in stock, but it worked out well as there’s room to comfortably layer underneath x
Your little health chat made me VERY emotional 😢 I totally relate to how you feel getting a diagnosis for an “invisible” illness, and finally feeling validated, and able to communicate and be understood better by others. I was recently diagnosed with hypothyroidism and hashimotos after having dealt with symptoms for as long as I can remember. It’s so tough, but it’s all a step in the right direction. Sending love to you, and anyone else who reads this with a chronic illness ❤
You’re sincerely my comfort TH-camr 😭 I’m so glad you’re posting regularly again ☺️
Same. My favourite TH-camr

Best of luck in your studies, you are a very intelligent young lady and you will be fabulous!! Cheers!!
P.S. I am so happy for you that you have a diagnosis that will hopefully lead to the kind of support and help you deserve and need to improve your health and life!!
Sending a hug
Loved this vlog! Just wanted to say that I (and I'm sure everybody else as well) really appreciate the effort you put in your videos and everything you do 💕 Wish you good luck on your studies and on your journey dealing with your health issues 🫶🏻
We're all here for you and cheering you on!! Lots of love xx
I enjoyed this new mic tryout.. I didn’t notice the hair on it at all, sounded really good! 😊
It’s so nice to have you back 😊
I love to see other youtubers doing vlogtober as well! Ive started it for the first time and I'm loving it 🥰 looking forward to watch your next ones ✨
"We don't need anymore mugs." Please don't let my husband hear you say that. He tells me that all the time. I respectfully ignore him lol
My husband says the same… 😂
I’m told the same and I also ignore 😂😂😂😂😂😂
Omg this must be universal :) mine sais the same. But I always need more mugs
Loving the regular uploads! So happy you're back❤
Such a cosy vlog 🥰 things that helped me study were doing a bit each day even if it was 10 minutes because it’s so horrible putting it off and then having to do like 3 hours worth all at once 😅 also maybe set a timer where you’re not on your phone etc then when the time is up have a walk or coffee etc ❤
You will ace these courses! You managed to get through with no revision back in the day. Amazing. This time around, it will be a total success.
Just love your cosy videos ! Your like the sweetest friend . Sending autumnal love 🍁🌻🍁🤗
ive missed ur videos, this is so nice :')
At University I struggled quite a lot with the quick classes/teachers throwing information after information/nothing written on the board and I didn’t know why.
Then I started taking notes, writing everything the teacher’s were saying and it helped me so much - turns out I am a visual learner. I need to read/write to fully understand. That’s why I don’t go well at all with audio books, I just can’t focus 😂
So, you asked for a tip: Find out which kind of learner you are and adapt the studies to it.
Best of luck as you start this new venture, I’m so excited for you ☺️🎊
You are brave sharing..Be kind to yourself..❤
US subbie here - My most universal study tip is to invest in cute stationary you’ll love to interact with to stay excited about learning. I love the paper and small binders from Kinukuniya 💕
Best of luck in your classes!
Where did you get your canvas tote from, the one with birds on at 17:09? It's really cute!
It’s an old collaboration from Sezane x
@@RhiannonAshleeVlogs Thanks!
Some helpful tips ! I color code all my note books or use the Notion app To color code my classes in files and have the professor name and class number on the back of the notebooks . It helps when you have so much to remember . Set up your notes by week so, week 1 , week2 , week 3 etc …
Good Luck I was so nervous to return to school at 28 years old but I enjoy my classes so much and I’m getting wonderful grades 🎉
Your comments much appreciated :) and thank you xx
Please look into eds & pots as your diagnosis symptoms are likely very similar to these. Also both pots and eds are very common in people who are autistic/ADHD, I am currently waiting for assessment for both 😊
Just getting my cosy spicey latte ready in the stove..... autumn Fairy lights on........ before snuggle up to watch this
I’ve returned to studying at the ripe old age of 44 and have found Lion’s Mane mushroom really helpful for focus and retaining information.
You could get an ebike with loads and loads of storage to go grocerie shopping too:)
HONEY CAKES ARE THE ABSOLUTE BEST
Thank you! ♥
It’s in the colour Dark Khaki ☺️
Hi Rhiannon. I’m contemplating on purchasing the Sezane trench coat. It looks so good on you 😍 is the coat true to size ? Xx
It is :)
@@RhiannonAshleeVlogs thank you ☺️
Who are you studying with , I keep looking but can’t decide who to go with x
It must be such a relief to have a diagnosis of fibromyalgia. I hope you can find strategies to help you. My sister in law has fibromyalgia and finds massages help. Deep tissue massage, rest and being kind to yourself if you need to take a step back from doing things. I’m really interested to hear about your studies. Good luck with it all and well done!! 😊
How do i go about getting diagnosed? i dont know how to tell my doctor because I've been ignored most of the time..
Being a visual learner, i love making mind maps !
I love watching your videos ever since the early TH-cam days!!! Aka leather jacket, ballet flats, bird cage on foot days 😘 I was wonderkng where your cozy bathrobe is from???
It’s quite old but it’s M&S and they probably still do very similar ones :)
When you was making the bread my eyes widened every time you said half an hour 😅
Are you and Anna Saccone doing the same nutrition course?
Love You❤❤❤
That's very me how your mind is about learning.... I wasn't the best at school either 😂 but cause I know I HAVE to do certain things I'm making myself 😂 I also have an 8 year old 😂❤ have watched since delilah was a baby ❤❤❤❤❤❤
I only wear my wedding band when I go out. I have it on a little stand to grab next to the dresser. Maybe you can do that.
I put mine on a necklace.
Where are your jars from with the colourful lids? They are a great size!
The brand is Le Parfait and come in all sorts of sizes. You can find them online but some places really hike up the price. I’ve found one shop in my town that sells them and another in Brighton (Utility). If you’re ever in Homesense, it’s worth having a look as I found some in there recently too x
For the stain on your sweater, try spraying it hydrogen peroxide 3% and air dry in the house.
Hello, thank you for making vlogctober i love watching cosy videos. Can you tell me where the black mug with the ghosts is from? Thank you so much!
Anthropologie! They’re already sold out 😭
@@RhiannonAshleeVlogs oh damnnn thank you anyways!
I too have fibro and chronic fatigue syndrome, were you given any medication?
where are the green gingham trousers you had on at the start of the vlog from?
What size is your arket sweater? :)
Do you tend to downsize for sezane? I always want to order but never sure what size i'd be?
I’d say they’re true to size, as I got a size 6 because they didn’t have my usual size 4 in stock, but it worked out well as there’s room to comfortably layer underneath x
What brand is the Mac? As I couldn’t quite catch the name. Thanks
Sezane :) always links stuff in the description if that helps x
I've always had a lot of health issues so I really emphasize with you on that ❤
Hey rhiannon, would you mind telling me what size you got the trenchcoat in? it would really help for reference :)
It’s a size 6 :)
@@RhiannonAshleeVlogs that really helped :) i got a six and it fits perfectly with a knitted jumper underneath it
What size did you get your lovely sezane coat in?
Mines a size 6 :)
@@RhiannonAshleeVlogs Thank you dear :)
Sending love to you, and anyone else who reads this with a chronic illness ❤
and you too ♥️
❤
I ❤ sourdough
The perfect accompaniment to a wet evening while I cook dinner 🥰
Sincerely hope you’re doing okay!
