If you like (Uncle) Henk so much, try this duet with Emma, the blond girl on the couch. They sing an Andrea Bocelli song called "Vivo per lei" (translated "I live for her" and the 'her' in this case is music). It's a must see. It gives me a 'grandfather/granddaughter' feel, the way he looks at Emma when finished, so proud. Please do search it, you won't regret it.

Floor and Henk have performed together a few times since this show. Check out their rendition of A Dangerous Game. Another stunner.
Poor Henk. He was SOOOO genuinely nervous before doing this. An opera singer using distortion is a distinct no-no. He joked that it was something that upon hearing of it, casting directors and such would be apt so shout, "Next!" But Henk totally killed it and wowed everyone.
And there was Floor enjoying every second of it! This is a great rendition of it, it’s based on the Disturbed version, amazing!

This was the first song on which Uncle Henk added distortion during the show. He did especially for Floor, just like in the Phantom of the Opera.
The idea of this show is to invite professional singers and let them sing songs out of their comfort zone. At the end a winner is declared but I never felt any of the contestants found that very important.
Henk is a opera and musical star. So this was definitely out of his comfort zone but he killed it! The fry part he learned for Floor for their Phantom of the Opera because of her rock background.
I would be so funny to see an American version of this show with all these auto-tune singers!

Great rendition of this song! You are really sharing great content and artists. You are missing one artist that your channel will never be complete without and that is SoHyang ( pronounced So hyoung). She is the female equivalent to Dimash. SoHyang is a South Korean artist. She has been approached by some major production companies but she refused even though it would make her more famous. She said she sings for God and wants to use her voice to comfort others who are going through rough times. She is a devout Christian and a cancef survivor. I recommend "Bridge Over Troubled Water" and "Arirang Alone" first. Hope to hear thdm soon! I want to tell you that the live you express for each other and for others spills through the screen and touches us! You are a special couple!!

maybe I should explain a bit who Henk Poort is for those who don't know him :
Poort is a baritone.
He followed a classical singing education at the Sweelinck Conservatory in Amsterdam.
He won the Cristina Deutekom Competition during his singing education.
Poort sang at several European opera houses, such as in Ulm en Krefeld.
He made guest appearances for, for example, the Dutch Opera, the Deutsche Oper am Rhein, the Hessische Staatstheater in Wiesbaden, the National Reisopera, the VARA (Opera matinee in the Amsterdam Concertgebouw).
Poort was a fellow jury member for the music program Una voce particolare.
From September 2008 to the end of November 2008 he took part in a theater tour throughout the Netherlands with De 3 Baritones (Marco Bakker, Ernst Daniël Smid and himself).
Poort made another theater tour throughout the Netherlands with De 3 Baritons from December 2009 to March 2010.
In 2017, Poort was one of the participants of the eighteenth season of the RTL 5 program Expedition Robinson, he fell fourth and finished in 16th place.
In 2019 Poort participated in Best Singers, where he took first place in the Dutch iTunes list with his version of “Sound of Silence”.
His cover of "Phantom of the Opera", together with Floor Jansen, was also highly successful.
Poort has regularly made guest appearances at Floor Jansen's shows since 2019, including at Pinkpop in 2022.
In 2021 they recorded the song Dangerous Game together, from the musical Dr.Jekyll and Mr.Hyde.
Poort has been married to his partner Marjolein Keuning since 1993. They have two daughters together.

Funny how Henk's performance blows David Draiman's version away even though Henk does it live without all the studio editing. Henk's power in his voice is unreal.
