  • In Part 2 of this Demo, I discuss lateral thinking vs direct line thinking, prey/predator psychology, & how to use approach & retreat to build your horse's confidence. I explain the difference in how horses - who are prey animals - and humans - who are naturally perceived by horses as predators - think & act.
Understanding the difference in how we think and how our horse thinks is crucial to helping them build confidence in us, in new environments, and with various obstacles & in creating a relationship & partnership that both parties equally enjoy! I demonstrate this concept by showing how to build my Right Brain Introvert mare's confidence with a plastic bag on the end of my stick that she had been anxious about.
In this multi-part series, I demonstrate how to use obstacles to improve your horse's confidence, connection, and motivation with both a right brain (more innately anxious) horse and left brain (more innately confident/dominant) horse & show you strategies for each.
A new part of this series will be uploaded twice a week so check back regularly!
