One thing to look out for is to check the mini UHF connector on the Brick. This has to be a weak link in the radio. They have a history of failing to contact the center pin of the mini uhf connector to the antenna. I had an issue on my unit where the output power was a few watts shy of the 40 watts that I had set the radio for. I used a sewing needle and bright light to realign the contacts within the connector on the back of the radio. We had issues with these connectors in the MAXTRAC and Radius mobiles back in the day. There are some radio models in Europe that use a BNC connector for the antenna connection. Far better than the cheap mini uhf that Motorola used on their radios.

I've seen some people break it down and install a BNC for this very reason. I agree that the mini UHF is a weak link and often times it goes overlooked. Thank you for commenting on the video.
