Long time no see! In collaboration with I AM THE MASTERMIND! Danganronpa Fanzine, I, alongside a few of the my fellow artists, put together an animation to celebrate our project's release! It actually makes sense that Tsumugi wins, this is because she's the only mastermind who was on top of both by knowing THEY and herself were fictional, the only mastermind without OP abilities who actually used her own wits to manipulate the entire killing game and frame another participant extremely convincingly. I think not many give her enough credit

Honestly, same. But i still don’t convinced she even is the mastermind. Our only sources if truth and lies are in the prologue and the ending. Danganronpa V3 was BASED on truths and lies. I mean, they could’ve used the flasbacklight to make her think she was the mastermind right?
But at the end i suppose she really is the mastermind. I agree, she’s my favorite one so far.
I kin her cause she had my favorite trial and she actually made sense and left clues. She was well written too. As other characters who were crazy I didn’t like as much but she just made it make sense. She had motive, drive, and showed a amazing trial filled with twists. I loved to see her cosplay as all the other characters.

If you had looked at the end, it shows who their mastermind designs are by, so it is sorta a au.
It's because in the other games (2 and V3) it gets revealed that they were both evil, the 2nd cast gets revealed to be the remnants of despair while V3 turns out to be really into the killing game and enjoy it. That's why the first game is the exact same but the other 2 games are different designs.

This is how I got spoiled for v3’s mastermind, but I didn’t know who tsumugi was. When I watched this video. So a week later I watched someone play v3 and completely forgot about this video. And then, when the last few chapters came around I had I feeling it was tsmugi, like this huge gut feeling that it’s tsmugi, and I’m pretty sure this where that idea came from.
So in summary I got spoiled without knowing I got spoiled- but at the end of the day it worked out because I wasn’t spoiled on anything I thought at the moment and I’m not mad about it so 🤷♀️

I love that the weapons are all references to mechanics in the game! Junko has pistols for Truth Bullets, Izuru has a skateboard for Logic Dive, and Tsumugi has a blade for Blade Rebuttal and the car for Psyche Taxi.

I love how when Shuichi takes the controller from Kaede, it references how Shuichi took Kaede's place as the protagonist when she died. This entire animatic is so cool! It's amazing!

Okay so the fact that kaede losses cuz she was the shortest lived protag. And shuichi winning cuz he not only ended his killing game but also all future killings games is just such good story telling.
I'm still a little confused in that point, does that means that all the story from THH, Goodbye Despair, Ultra despair girls and the animes were all a brainwashing to the characters and that they (whoever the mastermind is) make them believe that all the events that happened were real but actually they weren't?

This is a really satisfying execution. It's like all the students are playing with those who played with them, it's a symbolic message with a bit of innocence as the students are treating it like a friendly competition, and I also like how there are still some dead students there, showing how those who are dead can still be with you in spirit. At least, that's my interpretation of this execution.

I was actually expecting Izuru to win because he's one of the most powerful- (i heard he has all the ultimates) but Tsumugi winning actually makes sense aswell.

I’m sure it was mentioned but I’m sure the weapons used were references to various mechanics in the game
Junko has pistols which referenced the truth bullet mechanic. Which was the main mechanic of trigger happy havoc. Well it’s a staple for all the games but you know
Izuru has a skateboard referencing Logic dive. Yes logic dive used a snowboard I believe but considering the surface in this animation wasn’t snow, I fail to see how a snowboard would be effective.
Tsumugi has both a car and katanas
Katanas are referencing the rebuttal showdowns, with the swift cuts like a katana.
The car referencing the brain drive mini game
Other things I found include:
Tsumugi lost when being played as Kaede but came back and one as shuichi.
This is referencing the protag switch in v3. And maybe the ending as well.
Besides the main screens that show Kaede, Shuichi, Hajime, and Makoto playing with their allies and rivals being shown as well. There are more cyan screens that show other characters from the games as well.
An obvious one: Shuichi’s ahoge is the shape of Monokuma’s red eye.
That is Shuichi’s pregame outfit tie.
At 0:34, Shuichi has a more timid look on his face. But at the end you see that change

First of all, this is amazing, the coloring is just perfect. This reminds of an A.U.
where the protagonists are the masterminds/the ones in despair and the mastermind is the protagonist/filled with hope. Which is my favorite A.U. btw, But amazing job on the video!
The concept of this zine is exactly THAT tho :D. It's where *almost * (I said almost since Hifumi and Teruteru are left out due to lack of interest) all the other characters become masterminds. I reallly recommend checking it out on their ig. It's such an amazing zine hhhhhh

Wait I just thought of something, Tsumugi is actually really broken. If she can cosplay fictional characters, and from what we see can also copy their talents, that means she can not only be as strong as Izuru, but she can also be able to be as strong as characters like ultimate Kars, Joker from persona 5 and so on.
I don't think she gains any super natural abilities.

And I love the designs, and how each character was placed, the antagonist to the right side and sidekick left, its fun watching this and pointing out details you missed the first time you watched it,
