Skip still works 7/9/24. A extra hint for the timing. Use the Examples at the 3 frames the drink begins you need to fall. The Rupture Tear Cancel will register on a controller for the fall timing your controller will vibrate, but the cancel needs to be at the same exact time you would be hitting the floor. Landing on the invisible ledge the Rupture Tear Cancel helps increase the margin of error.

Was doing this glitch and wondering why it wasnt working. decided to try and take off all my armor, and also only had the rupture flask in the physick after realizing i had something else mixed in. worked perfectly following this video. Thank you!
In order to do it logically, or in terms of music, keep in mind that the potion blows up after 3 seconds. If one second is a measure, you end up with 4 bars of time, each with 4 counts. Start counting at the exact moment that the magic activates (when the yellow circle appears), start counting in 4/4, and when you reach somewhere between the second and third count of the fourth bar, hit r1. This seemed to work for me.

May 9th 2023 this does in fact work, just takes a lot of practice to get right. Doesn’t matter what you use or where you jump it’s all about the timing.

An actual amazing skip. Takes some time for sure to get it right but when you do, wow it's satisfying. Amazing description with the animations. I am naturally a dual katana player and this animation explanation told me everything I needed to know. Just need to be "hit" in the air while attacking.

wow this took me like 45 minutes. I'm glad I didn't give up. I died on the first fall like 30x before I made it to the 2nd fall. Once I sort of made it I had the confidence to keep going. Glad I did. Now I got my black bow to really start the game. I'm not even on Margit yet, HA! Thanks man! Doing a bow run this time so I wanted to start with something really good

In case anyone is struggling on Ps5. You can try lowering your framerate by choosing quality graphics mode, and enabling raytracing. Got it on my first try, after doing that.

I was having such a hard time that I thought it may have been patched. The slow motion example pointing directly to where in the flask animation and where in the fall to use it made me get it within 5 tries after watching.
I'm happy to hear the slow motion parts were helpful! I was concerned segments like that would give off the impression I'm trying to pad the video but my gut was telling me those segments would personally help me so I kept them in.

Thanks for the explanation got it first try, version 1.10. There is a somber stone 6 on the hallway outside, the abductors can be cheesed with the wooden rail on the elevator. On the building to the right there are several more smithing stones and other good items.

Guys after 1 hour I couldnt do it, BUT THERE IS ANOTHER WAY. I tried the taunters tongue method, make sure your level/weapons are within the low level pvp range. Get invaded, sometimes the invader spawns below and will activate the lift for you. Thats how i got it to work for me.

I can also confirm that this still works on patch 1.08, as I tested this morning. I'd be really interested to know your thoughts on whether it's any harder on 1.08, as I only tried it a couple of times on 1.07. 1.08 did take a few more attempts, but that could have just been me. @@josephsexton2404 to my knowledge the zip glitches were patched out in patch 1.12 which is when the DLC went live :/ Fromsoft fixed a lot of the cool exploits with the DLC update. What were you trying to accomplish with a zip glitch? There might be a workaround.
@@ryazarector getting into the rennas rise for the snow witch set. Would be nice to know if it's even possible to cheese it. Was just following a guide.
@@josephsexton2404 That's tough. There was a super difficult jump you can do with the broken walls around renna's rise and you could parkour your way up to the rise. It was incredibly challenging to get the jump right. I found it easier to progress Ranni's questline. All you have to do is kill Radahn and go into Nokron to grab the quest item and bring it back to Ranni.
Still works in 1.08. Just did it, only took a few tries. Sometimes you land and you think you're fine, but the fall damage gets you a second later. You just have to keep trying and get the timing just right

I got it after 7 tries at RL 1. I first got a feel for the explosion timing on solid ground (i found that swinging on the 6th count at ~ 115 bpm was pretty accurate) then it was a matter of drinking at the right time; you can line up a spot with the bow to be more consistent :)

I would honestly be shocked if fromsoft actually intended this interaction with the ruptured tear physic. Either way I'm so relieved that fromsoft have not patched this out. you helped e get it again first time seeing this video hit it first try been a while and havent tried it since needed to do it couldnt get the timing right came back to this video and easily got it thanks again
Yeah timing is the most important aspect of this glitch. It can get frustrating because there is not enough feedback during the glitch to narrow down what part of the glitch was off.
I expected this to be patched out by now, but it totally still works. Took me about 50 tries, but I finally nailed it thanks to the 4 count method and the slow walk over the edge. Definitely dont forget to R1 at the end of the 4 count or it simply will not work. Best of luck to ya, folks!
Thanks a lot for the video man, just now did this on PS5 latest patch. I was trying to hit the melee attack when i reached the start of wooden interior at the bottom, that helped a lot.

Wow awesome video! I was able to do this at level 1 (I added Radagon's Soreseal for extra health just to make sure) and it worked like a charm! This is on 1.10 BTW. Appreciate the video! Also I did this with no armor and no weapons, just using the fist

I 100% thought this had been patched. 100%. I was trying over and over for like, 20 minutes, and I told myself if I didn't get it by 30 it would just be quicker to blitz Stormveil for Godrick and get the Dectus Medallions to trigger Radahn, then cheese Draconic to get in normally. But at some point, it just worked, and there I was at the bottom. I will never be able to do this consistently, but now that I know it's still possible I'm probably gonna do it every new run, so thank you!
It is awesome you got this to work! I relate to your experience with this glitch. When I was capturing the footage I was ready to uninstall. At first it seemed easier and quicker to blitz through the game but then I realised there are somber stones in the Leyndell Sewers so it would be more efficient to go to Leyndell anyways. Have a metronome set at 60 bpm with subdivisions of eighth-notes, drink flash, walk off, wait for the 4th tick, then on the following eighth-note before the 5th full-tick, make the hit. Don't give up! It took me four hours straight of trying to get it correct. I had Netflix on during my attempts so it helped numb my brain from the frustration 😅 There is another way around the lift but it requires online. You gotta use the taunters tongue and get invaded. After an hour+ of trying I got it! My main problem was not timing flask correctly, I was constantly getting explosion far above the ground and for this to work it needs to explode as close to the ground as possible. I used bare fists and performed light attack so that my arm was pulled back early in the attack animation when the explosion occurred. I did it with 10 vigor so you don't need extra health. If you want to make it work try to delay drinking potion as much as possible, one time I managed to die from fall before it even exploded xD. If you are still high in the air after the explosion you will always die, you have to hit the ground during the s from the explosion. Many thanks Ryza your tutorial is very helpful :D

It is alright! This is a hard glitch to get. Took me weeks to get it right and even more after that to feel comfortable enough to make this tutorial. Perseverance is key! There are two other ways of getting into the Royal Capital. One is the taunters tongue where you bait an invader to activate the lift for you; and the other is wrong warping.
Here's a TH-cam short I made going over the wrong warp into Leyndell. I have not had free time to update the title but I have comments confirming it still works. th-cam.com/users/shortsLHeMWebu-h0?feature=share You might have to try warping to Castleward Tunnel instead of the Round Table Hold. Timing the force quit is the key to getting the wrong warp to work. Hopes this helps !
Still working, if you get rhe side animation but keep dying its probably because your holding down a button. After you do the attack let go of all inputs. You should do the side animation and stand back up before trying to move again
That is some good advice! I suspect that on controller those inputs or button pressing could be adding some interference. I play on keyboard and mouse so my mechanical keyboard is super responsive. I'm not aware if the same could be said of console controllers though.

I might be late to this glitch but if how I did it is of help to anyone then I'll just say that I aligned myself with where his figure showed in the slow mo version and when his character drank I matched the flask with something behind him like the statues arm and moved at that moment. It took me about 10 mins but yeah. Just find a point behind the character and make sure you drink at the same moment he drinks in the video.
Nov 2023 still working. Wasn't much of a hassle on PS4 but I was pulling my hair on PS5 version. Got it after applying quality mode, maybe the lower frame rate gives a more lenient window.
Yes I have seen two other comments before that have suggested that frame rates can affect the glitch. It is interesting! I think there is merit to this theory since the ZIP and mega ZIP glitches are affected by frame rates and performance.
Thanks for the video. I got it within 15-20min. I finally got it by 2-handing the beastman sword. Strangely enough, I got locked out of roundtable hold. I spoke with Melina in Lyndell but she never gave me access. I beat Margit and Godrick and returned to previous graces but no luck.
That is fascinating. I have not seen or experienced a glitch like that. Normally when you venture out of Limgrave Melina prompts you to go to Round Table Hold. Please let me know if manage to fix it; I'll conduct some research. There must be a way into Round Table Hold.
I figured out how to access roundtable hold. I progressed and beat Godfrey and Morgott and spoke with Melina at the grace there. She will give her standard dialogue after beating Morgott. Then exit the grace, and rest again. Melina will show up again and give you access to roundtable hold.
6th of August 2024. It still works, got it on 4th try. I used Black Knife heavy attack. It's not that hard or I was just super lucky. Anyway, Iron Virgin was down there waiting to congratulate me. Best of luck all!

In case anyone is struggling on Ps5. You can try lowering your framerate by choosing quality graphics mode, and enabling raytracing. Got it on my first try, after doing that.
That’s a genius idea!! Frame rate should theoretically affect the animation speed which could lead to an easier time doing this glitch.

Wow after hours this finally made it work thank you
I was having such a hard time that I thought it may have been patched. The slow motion example pointing directly to where in the flask animation and where in the fall to use it made me get it within 5 tries after watching.
I'm happy to hear the slow motion parts were helpful! I was concerned segments like that would give off the impression I'm trying to pad the video but my gut was telling me those segments would personally help me so I kept them in.
Time the drink and fall, right before the last floor ledge, slash.
Anyway this still works on the latest patch.

I do not like how a lot of video game guides pad and beat around the bush. At the same time I felt like slow motion would be so helpful so I tried to make it as clear and concise as possible.

Thanks for the explanation got it first try, version 1.10. There is a somber stone 6 on the hallway outside, the abductors can be cheesed with the wooden rail on the elevator. On the building to the right there are several more smithing stones and other good items.
Completely forgot about the somber 6 there! That makes the skip even more efficient for upgrade runs.

Guys after 1 hour I couldnt do it, BUT THERE IS ANOTHER WAY. I tried the taunters tongue method, make sure your level/weapons are within the low level pvp range. Get invaded, sometimes the invader spawns below and will activate the lift for you. Thats how i got it to work for me.

I can also confirm that this still works on patch 1.08, as I tested this morning. I'd be really interested to know your thoughts on whether it's any harder on 1.08, as I only tried it a couple of times on 1.07. 1.08 did take a few more attempts, but that could have just been me. Fromsoft fixed a lot of the cool exploits with the DLC update.
What were you trying to accomplish with a zip glitch? There might be a workaround.

@@josephsexton2404 That's tough. There was a super difficult jump you can do with the broken walls around renna's rise and you could parkour your way up to the rise. It was incredibly challenging to get the jump right.
I found it easier to progress Ranni's questline. All you have to do is kill Radahn and go into Nokron to grab the quest item and bring it back to Ranni.
Still works in 1.08. Just did it, only took a few tries. Sometimes you land and you think you're fine, but the fall damage gets you a second later. You just have to keep trying and get the timing just right

I got it after 7 tries at RL 1. I first got a feel for the explosion timing on solid ground (i found that swinging on the 6th count at ~ 115 bpm was pretty accurate) then it was a matter of drinking at the right time; you can line up a spot with the bow to be more consistent :)

Fantastic skip. It opens so many possibilities at the start of the game, almost as if it was intended.
I would honestly be shocked if fromsoft actually intended this interaction with the ruptured tear physic. Either way I'm so relieved that fromsoft have not patched this out. The took out all the torrent glitches so I expected this one on the chopping block too.

Yeah timing is the most important aspect of this glitch. It can get frustrating because there is not enough feedback during the glitch to narrow down what part of the glitch was off.
I expected this to be patched out by now, but it totally still works. Took me about 50 tries, but I finally nailed it thanks to the 4 count method and the slow walk over the edge. Definitely dont forget to R1 at the end of the 4 count or it simply will not work. Best of luck to ya, folks!

I was trying to hit the melee attack when i reached the start of wooden interior at the bottom, that helped a lot.

Wow awesome video! I was able to do this at level 1 (I added Radagon's Soreseal for extra health just to make sure) and it worked like a charm! This is on 1.10 BTW. Appreciate the video! Also I did this with no armor and no weapons, just using the fist

just want to say that this skip still works in whatever patch we are on now for march 2024. it took me a few times but i finally got it to work

I 100% thought this had been patched. 100%. I was trying over and over for like, 20 minutes, and I told myself if I didn't get it by 30 it would just be quicker to blitz Stormveil for Godrick and get the Dectus Medallions to trigger Radahn, then cheese Draconic to get in normally. But at some point, it just worked, and there I was at the bottom. I will never be able to do this consistently, but now that I know it's still possible I'm probably gonna do it every new run, so thank you!
It is awesome you got this to work! I relate to your experience with this glitch. When I was capturing the footage I was ready to uninstall.
At first it seemed easier and quicker to blitz through the game but then I realised there are somber stones in the Leyndell Sewers so it would be more efficient to go to Leyndell anyways.
If you did once than you can definitely do it again!

Have a metronome set at 60 bpm with subdivisions of eighth-notes, drink flash, walk off, wait for the 4th tick, then on the following eighth-note before the 5th full-tick, make the hit.
(tick 1 starts when you press the button to drink)
Visual example:

- = eighth note

It could be both things! Every little detail matters for doing these glitches. Fromsoft patched out all the easy ones and left the tough ones.

Attempted this for an hour straight. I'm giving up, better luck to the rest of you.
Don't give up! It took me four hours straight of trying to get it correct. I had Netflix on during my attempts so it helped numb my brain from the frustration 😅
There is another way around the lift but it requires online. You gotta use the taunters tongue and get invaded. Then the invader activates the lift to get to you.

After an hour+ of trying I got it! My main problem was not timing flask correctly, I was constantly getting explosion far above the ground and for this to work it needs to explode as close to the ground as possible. I used bare fists and performed light attack so that my arm was pulled back early in the attack animation when the explosion occurred. I did it with 10 vigor so you don't need extra health. If you want to make it work try to delay drinking potion as much as possible, one time I managed to die from fall before it even exploded xD.
If you are still high in the air after the explosion you will always die, you have to hit the ground during the s from the explosion.

It is alright! This is a hard glitch to get. Took me weeks to get it right and even more after that to feel comfortable enough to make this tutorial. Perseverance is key!
There are two other ways of getting into the Royal Capital. One is the taunters tongue where you bait an invader to activate the lift for you; and the other is wrong warping.
Here's a TH-cam short I made going over the wrong warp into Leyndell.
I have not had free time to update the title but I have comments confirming it still works.

You might have to try warping to Castleward Tunnel instead of the Round Table Hold. Timing the force quit is the key to getting the wrong warp to work.

Still working, if you get rhe side animation but keep dying its probably because your holding down a button. After you do the attack let go of all inputs. You should do the side animation and stand back up before trying to move again
That is some good advice! I suspect that on controller those inputs or button pressing could be adding some interference. I play on keyboard and mouse so my mechanical keyboard is super responsive. I'm not aware if the same could be said of console controllers though.

I might be late to this glitch but if how I did it is of help to anyone then I'll just say that I aligned myself with where his figure showed in the slow mo version and when his character drank I matched the flask with something behind him like the statues arm and moved at that moment. It took me about 10 mins but yeah. Just find a point behind the character and make sure you drink at the same moment he drinks in the video.

Nov 2023 still working. Wasn't much of a hassle on PS4 but I was pulling my hair on PS5 version. Got it after applying quality mode, maybe the lower frame rate gives a more lenient window.
Yes I have seen two other comments before that have suggested that frame rates can affect the glitch. It is interesting! I think there is merit to this theory since the ZIP and mega ZIP glitches are affected by frame rates and performance.

Thanks for the video. I got it within 15-20min. I finally got it by 2-handing the beastman sword. Strangely enough, I got locked out of roundtable hold. I spoke with Melina in Lyndell but she never gave me access. I beat Margit and Godrick and returned to previous graces but no luck.
That is fascinating. I have not seen or experienced a glitch like that. Normally when you venture out of Limgrave Melina prompts you to go to Round Table Hold. Please let me know if manage to fix it; I'll conduct some research. There must be a way into Round Table Hold.
I figured out how to access roundtable hold. I progressed and beat Godfrey and Morgott and spoke with Melina at the grace there. She will give her standard dialogue after beating Morgott. Then exit the grace, and rest again. Melina will show up again and give you access to roundtable hold.

6th of August 2024. It still works, got it on 4th try. I used Black Knife heavy attack. It's not that hard or I was just super lucky. Anyway, Iron Virgin was down there waiting to congratulate me. Best of luck all!
