Glad you like it, I'm considering one (13") for my wife to replace an M1 Pro, she needs the lightest option possible due to an injury. Spec wise, I just pretend the 8GB models don't exist. I will not buy a crippled product. The £200 price tag for an additional 8GB RAM sticks in the throat, it is a rip off, but the M3 chip really needs 16GB in order to show what it is capable of. Overall, the 16GB model is better value, despite Apple taking the Mickey with the upgrade cost, because they are just so capable - and most people want _one_ general purpose computer to last several years. How can one predict exactly what you'll want to do, that the 8GB will never be an issue??
Hi Paul - this MBA has blown me away...those extra 8 GB of RAM have made a massive difference. I can now use this Mac all day for basic video editing etc with now problems. I can hand on heart say I think your wife will adore. It's just so useable and tactile...and fast! 👍🏻

My new MacBook Air M3 15 Inch (Silver) arrived yesterday! I am loving it so far!!!🧡 I got 16gb RAM and 1T storage as I'll be using it for writing mostly, but also photo editing, video editing, TH-cam vids, design work and a little bit of gaming. The MacBook Pro was just so expensive and heavy, the Air just seemed like the obvious best choice for me!! See how it goes 😃

Bought an M3 MBA this month. 15-inch in midnight, and it's probably the best Mac I've used for years. It replaces a 13-inch M1 MBA, which has been great, but was never a real standout. The M3 is only 8Gb because for my workflows and usage that is all it needs to have, and it has coped really well with all the workload I've thrown at it. That said, I wouldn't try any real 'pro' level stuff because - well, that's not what 8Gb is for. Best laptop since the TiBook in look, feel and the sheer beauty of it.

In the latest Premiere Pro updates, the way you make export colors look right when played using Apple hardware/software is this: In the Lumetri Color panel, click the Settings tab, expand the Project settings, and for Viewer Gamma, choose 1.96 (QuickTime). Before this change, Premiere Pro would export in a more standard Broadcast 2.4 gamma, but Apple set ColorSync and QuickTime to a non-standard 1.96 gamma which made that not look right.
So tempted by the M3 15" Air. Wish Apple would offer a 36 or 48 GB RAM config. May pick one up regardless. And folks are saying the scaled Retina resolutions are closer to the MBP 16" than the MBP 14"! If the M4 Air configs change, I'll trade up.
I recently got a silver 13 inch M3 MBA with 16GB/512 and think it's the best computer I've ever had. It's so nice to have this much power in such a small and light package. I just started using FCP with it as well, zero issues!
Great video man, definitely earned a subscriber. I’m currently sitting here debating whether to return my 14” m3 pro 512gb 18gb ram and order in a 1tb model but that will take weeks. I will probably just order a T7

hi Mark - first the horn...I'm not musical at all sadly. That was my grandad's alto, my dad played and my daughter also plays and works for a record label. Seems I'm the loser in the family! Now about the 15" - from my initial finds you'll be fine. As you noticed I was carrying out basic edits on it. I haven't yet seen how it handles plugins etc. I used Photoshop and Lightroom on it this week and those 16 GB are handling it all... I've been super impressed with it so far - a great machine Mark. I hope that helps

New subscriber. Deciding between the air & pro - want the air for its form factor ( love it ) but hesitant due to so many reviews focussed on thermal throttling. I do a lot of photo editing ( no video yet ).
Thanks for the sub! Well, I can only speak as I find and so far this Air has surpassed my wildest dreams...it's a lovely bit of kit that I love using...I don't know if that helps at all. Both Premiere & Final Cut have performed basic tasks and edits so well too
@@markhjones100 I would definitely get the pro with the two fans because as AI apps come to play in the future, there could be more intense processing going on and then you’ll be happy that you got the active cooling
I’m from Colombia and I’d love to buy a 16 gb MBA, but authorized retailers seem to only bring 8 gb models to the country. My only options then are going to the States to buy a 16 gb MBA or buy a MBP 14” with 16 gb that costs double the MBA M3. What do you think would be best?
I guess it comes down to money. How much the flight to the States would cost. Although the display on the MBP is smaller it is XDR but that said I love the display on my MBA and like the larger screen size. The specs are so similar - but I prefer the larger screen...all in all, I'd go for the MBA if possible. Hope that helps - let me know what you decide to do
@@DavidLewisTech That’s something else too. The cost of the MBA in Colombia is about the same as the cost of the MBA plus flights in the States. Perhaps a tad more expensive for the hotel. The real drawbacks are that I cannot finance in the USA without interest like I can in Colombia, and maybe warranty? I’va heard Apple products have international warranty, but I’m not sure how it would actually play out. I’ll have to think about it, sometimes it feels like too much work to buy a MacBook Air with decent specs.

depends on the spec of the MBP - but honestly I am finding I'm using my MBP less and less since I bought the 15" Air. It's just so damned good. I used it to record my podcast which I record via RiversideFM...
