Dude, you rock! 40 years ago I got an after school job working for an engine shop that built motors for sprint cars and IMSA which turned into a career. You're doing a lot of things that we did then but with parts and tools that we could only imagine! After seeing TH-cam idiots post things like "why it's cheaper to replace an engine than changing a head gasket" or "resurfacing a cylinder head with sand paper" I was thrilled to see that actual intelligent engine building isn't a lost art! Keep it up, I'm now a fan AND a subscriber! Not sure where your shop is but if I'm ever in the neighborhood I'd love to take a closer look !
I'm curious, with all that fancy prep.....are you going to grind off/smooth up that narly casting flash on the sides of the drain back holes down in the valley?
That was the first thing I noticed. And it was still there at the end. I worked in a foundry for a long time and we always cleaned the casting before it left. or better yet we filed the cores so there wasn't very much left.
I would put that jewel in my 92 foxbody coupe I'm building and hurt a lot of feelings when I raise the hood and they see that distributor against the firewall! lol FWIW I like all brands and have had them all but definitely going this route on this build hopefully
Is the .100 you removed from the corners of the connecting rod shoulder going to affect the balance of the rotating assembly? Looking forward to the next steps of the project.
I would throw 2 blowers on it and stick it in my 96 k1500 with a beefed up 6 spd manual trans and transfer case. Put a 6 inch suspension and a 2 inch body lift with 44s.
Hey Jr when your finished being in total AWE of it's size it might be a good time to let you know among Big motors the 632 is just a puppy . Sure compared to your past motors its the biggest thing on earth .. but really it isn't its just the Biggest engine you have had in your garage .. You will likely find 1000 HP or even 1250 on Gas with NO Spray come rather easy ...
My c3 has a 632 TALL DECK WITH A BLOWER BDS 8.71 I have never used it yet, because I still have to fix a problem with the engine overheating. I had never seen this engine dismantled before because I bought the car like that. I am impressed .
i would have used an 11.625" tall deck for a 631 c.i. , however for a 10.2" i would only build a 545 or 549 or something like that. Custom steel rods. Thin pistons. true pure street daily driver NA only. 4.55" bore with a 4.85" crank and 8" rods. flimsy 1.200" piston with a 1.65:01 rod ratio. Better rod ratio than a 350 chevy.
That engine is too big for my 67 Camaro or my 69 Nova. It screams 60 Chevy or a 70 SS Chevelle. Whatever it's going in, it's going to try and twist it into a pretzel without a good stiff chassis. I'm watching the rest of this series. Maybe I'll just skip to dyno day. Lol.
Not in my opinion, too many problems with main webbing cracking. I had a Merlin III that was “supposed to be fixed “ but yet broke at the main webbing. Only a Dart block for me.

Another observation, NEVER grind the rod if at all possible, clearance the cam tunnel for room.....it won't hurt a thing to clearance the cam tunnel.
This is really cool and i love how thorough your explanations are about what you're doing and about the block. Keep up the awesome content!
Exactly what I was thinkin' and go over the rest of block. A gm mechanic taught me!!!
They make rods with a long bolt on one side and short bolt on the other so they clear . I have Scat rods like that in my big block .
I'd have to put it in my 68 396 Camaro I've had for 30 years, awesome engine keep the videos coming I just subscribed
Awesome work, Love how easy you make everything look, FYI I'd throw that 632 ci straight into a 57 Chevy 😎
My 68 pro street Camaro
Nice work. K5 blazer would be my choice.
That would fit nicely in the 1971 Monte Carlo packed in my garage
I'm curious, with all that fancy prep.....are you going to grind off/smooth up that narly casting flash on the sides of the drain back holes down in the valley?
That’s exactly what I was going to ask.
That was the first thing I noticed. And it was still there at the end. I worked in a foundry for a long time and we always cleaned the casting before it left. or better yet we filed the cores so there wasn't very much left.
This is why you get a raised cam tunnel :)
My yellow 66 Chevelle ss with m22 fourspeed
I would have to put it in a C2 Vette. What a ripper.
I would put that jewel in my 92 foxbody coupe I'm building and hurt a lot of feelings when I raise the hood and they see that distributor against the firewall! lol
FWIW I like all brands and have had them all but definitely going this route on this build hopefully
It would be badass in a lot of vehicles, but since I have a '91 dually I think I would put it in that.
Finally some good builds that's not some hokey back yard s*it.
freaking awesome video, so well explained
I just happen to have a 74 nova hatchback and 4L80e trans which would love to be attached to that monster
Is the .100 you removed from the corners of the connecting rod shoulder going to affect the balance of the rotating assembly? Looking forward to the next steps of the project.
Not enough to matter on a big block
I would throw 2 blowers on it and stick it in my 96 k1500 with a beefed up 6 spd manual trans and transfer case. Put a 6 inch suspension and a 2 inch body lift with 44s.
Love your videos where do you go to get one of these blocks
Yea 👍 good job thank you for pointing out details on block is there any way you could get weight of motor? Or if you knew roughly
It should go in a square body 4x4!!
It would go nice in my 1991 c1500 pick-up, but i would also need a different transmission for that bad boy probably a new rear end too
If i was rich, id put it in my 80 malibu, with twin turbo setup. Although everything would have to be built for it.
I have one in a 1968 El Camino pro street .
FYI, they are not referred to as a three galley or two galley. It's called priority main, which means it feeds the mains before anything else...

I'd throw it in an 84 Monte Carlo SS 😉
I know I'm late...71 Monte Carlo, plenty of room.
I would put this in my 79 chevette..😊
can you show the parts list please and thank you!
My 632 will be going in my 55 gasser
That should fit a 2008 gmc yukon sltII!
I put my 632 into a 55 Two door with an Manual ATI 2 speed auto Street Car on pump gas .
Into a 1984 landcruiser pickup or a chev firenza coupe or a 67 camaro
With those torque numbers,it would go in my 3/4 ton gmc
Corvette!!
95 camaro is what i would put that motor in.
I would i love to Put it in my 68 Nova
Put it in a G body with a manual trans. Let there be torque!
Is there a link to where the parts you used?
My c3 has a 632 TALL DECK WITH A BLOWER BDS 8.71
I have never used it yet, because I still have to fix a problem with the engine overheating.

Slammed C10 would be my choice
Do you build 11.700 deck hight or cell the blocks
How do I get started working in a shop like this??
1966 Biscayne
Throw in a 67 camaro is what I would do
Can this fit in a square body?
Is that 800 crankhp or rwhp
What happened to part 3-4-5??
Put it in a jet boat. They're always looking for extreme hp
I would put this in my 18 ft. airboat.
i would have used an 11.625" tall deck for a 631 c.i. , however for a 10.2" i would only build a 545 or 549 or something like that. Custom steel rods. my 86 S 10
Why would an engine block feature a kitchen commonly found on a ship?
It would go in a nova!! 60s
I would put that motor in a big tire Chevy II.
my 1986 chevysquare body....
4th Gen Monte Carlo SS
I want it
I would put this in my Boat with a 10-71 blower
motor in a Camaro?
How much for something like that lol
My '68 impala
I think a 71 Mach 1 mustang. Be cool
be great in a 60s nova prostreet car .....
I will swap it in my 1985 GMC suburban and sell the 454 for gas money
V drive day cruiser
Your making me sea sick
Id put it in a third gen camaro
Can't you keep the camera a little bit steady??
My head is spinning
800hp seems kinda low for a 632. A 427 LS makes that NA.
3gen camaro
lol id put this engine in an import. just to make people mad...like an Evo 10
It should go in a 68 camero
Trash Bearings ? Mock up Bearings sounds better.
camera wrk makes me dizzy.
All is definitely not the biggest possible
All that money and dont even clean the casting flash

I HATE YOU TH-camRS WHO ALL START BY ASKING US WHATS UP!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!. GET A NEW LINEEEEEEEEEEE
World products Merlin 4 block is much better
Not in my opinion, too many problems with main webbing cracking. I had a Merlin III that was “supposed to be fixed “ but yet broke at the main webbing. Only a Dart block for me.
