- Let's see what happens if we don't attack the Fire Vellumental in Paper Mario: The Origami King. Can we beat the Fire Vellumental Boss (aka Moltres) without attacking it? Or do we have to attack the Fire Vellumental to defeat it? In this video, we experiment with what happens if you don't attack the Fire Vellumental boss.

This is definitely not the strategy you'd see in a world record speedrun of Paper Mario The Origami King, but it's a safe strategy and a pretty unique/ unconventional way of approaching the boss. - เกม

@@davidmartins7003 I've finished Paper Mario The Origami King twice so far, and I have a bunch of video clips saved that I use for my videos, and I sometimes go back to certain areas for exploring/ testing out new ideas
On my stream, we're playing through the Paper Mario 20th Anniversary Mod right now, and we're on the second last chapter, so we'll be finishing the game most likely during tomorrow's stream :) Something really cool about this version of the game is that you can refight the bosses after beating the game and the bosses are much harder difficulty when you refight them! I'm thinking of doing Paper Mario Master Quest after, which sounds insane. Some of my friends have told me they've spent days trying to beat certain bosses

This is kinda like wat happens with rubber band
Once it reaches a low enough health it stops using its rubber bands and only attacks with snapback

I would love to see more challenges one I thought of is if you can beat the game with only the standard hammer and boots
That's a really great one, and in parts of the game where spikey enemies are lined up in a straight line would be difficult because you can't use iron boots!
@@ZXMany yeah so you have to find a way to make them in range for a hammer attack once I beat the game I'm gonna try my challenge
@@sebastiansanchez1012 Good luck! That's a really cool idea and it sounds fun. Make sure your HP is high enough, because there's a green streamer battle that is basically impossible to do that if your HP is too low

The Fire Vellumental is a unique boss because it's up is equal to how many feathers are on its body.

Can you beat the second phase of the tape and the rubber band boss without attacking it too? Cause their HP will get low too by their attacks.

Great questions! For the first question, it doesn't work for Tape: if he puts enough tape on the board, it eventually ends up healing itself, pulling back all of the tape.
For the second question, I think I might, I was planning on doing that with Final Fantasy Crystal Chronicles :)

the fire vellumental is kinda like tape,tape decides to roll tape around the field in phase 2,which does damage it,but obviously it wont kill it... at least i think it wont if it has max tape on the field
Tape and the Fire Vellumental are really similar, yeah! If there's enough tape on the field, the Tape boss will scoop it up and heal itself 😂 But yeah, both bosses won't defeat themselves with their own attacks, luckily they have that game mechanic in place!
I actually thought that i had to wait until the fire vellumental used so many feathers that its hp was low enough to finish it in one shot
the rubber band kinda do it, evrytime he sets rubber on the tiles he loses health but will pull that rubber back
imagine beating rubber band boss just my breacking the rubber it places on the field

Great questions! Tape ends up healing itself after using roll out a few times. It'd be really interesting to weaken it and see if it would roll out the last of its tape, hahaha
I'd also be really interested to see what happens with Rubber Band, I haven't experimented with that idea, that's a great idea!
ZXMany i think rubber band would just stop shooting number bands and force you to attack. It could allow you to beat it with just 1 1FO
@@finnvaneekelen7740 I was actually experimenting with that today :) When its HP gets low enough, it stops shooting out rubber bands, and you have to use 1FA to get it into phase 2. Once you're in phase 2, only 1FA can defeat it, so you have to use 1FA at least twice in the fight
@@ZXMany oh i thought if you got its hp low enough you could just kill it with an attack becasue it cant heal if its dead but that also makes sense
@@finnvaneekelen7740 Yeah, if you get its HP low enough and rid of all of the elastic bands in phase 1, all of your attacks will do 0 damage except for 1FA, which will do 1 damage and bring the boss into phase 2 :)

It's not just based off of Moltres, it's also based off of a Phoenix

@@ZXMany Yeah because the water and fire vullamentals are based on two mythical creatures, a Dragon and a phoenix, the earth and ice vullamentals are based on real animals, a turtle and a polar bear, but you figured that out already.

What if you make your attack points to 999999999999999999999999999 this maybe go through the defense of the head feathers
Great question! I have a video where we test something similar: in this game, Mario's damage depends on his total HP, so if we want Mario to do more damage, we increase his HP. I think certain bosses are given a high enough defence so that nothing can damage them except for certain moves (like the 1000-fold-arms), but I still have more testing to do :)

Part 1 make Fire vellumental lose all of its feathers
Part 2 heal
Part 3 use the water vellumental Magic Circle
Part 4 use the 1000 fold arms to pluck it

I thought about this! But I gave up because there were too many Molten Feathers.
Yeah, an easy way around that is either bringing a heart right up to Mario or putting an empty tile in front of him, so he won't walk on any of the feathers
