If it's any comfort, I've seen crusty, jaded professionals react the same as you. My favorite was a Hollywood vocal coach to the stars say not "how did she do that" but "how did she know to do that"(totally dumbstruck). For vocal gymnastics, my faves are "Fly Like a Bird" and "Defying Gravity". Watching newcomers, such as yourself, discover the wonders of Mori is a joy to behold.

One of my favorite things to do in my spare time is watch reactors experience Akin Ka Na Lang, it is quite entertaining and you are no exception, You know how with a lot of singers they kind of sound the same after a few songs so you get tired of listening. That dont happen with Mori because she always sounds different, `the way she sings and her beauty just mesmerizes you. She exudes warmth and goodness when she sings and it definitely is Not an act. Hello, Alison. This is my most favorite Morisette performance on the Wish Bus. And I'm guessing it's the same with many others, as the more than 160 million views it has garnered so far. It's her original song, written for her to interpret way back in 2014 for a songwriting competition in a Philippine TV channel. It did not win in that contest. But her singing it live in the Wish Bus radio station 4 years later in 2018 made it famous, watched by millions, reacted to, analyzed and reviewed by thousands of reactors like you. It placed Morissette on the global map. So, when people will hear this song even in future generations, they will know Mori, just like "My Heart Will Go On" is to Celine Dion and "I Will Always Love You" is to Whitney Houston.🥰 In this song, Morissette was able to showcase fully her talent and singing skills and techniques, from her sweet, low register, singing like a Disney princess during the first parts of the song, then shifting to her high registers, the mind-blowing whistle note, and the sustained 14-second incredible belting, capped with a whistle note at the end. 🥰 I would say I really like your reaction to this, I will place this among my top favorite reactions to Mori. Wow your reaction was just like mine the first time I heard her and it was this song. Every song she sings blows me away. Hi Alison! Thank you so much for your wonderful, heartfelt reactions to Morissette. I wanted to share some background info about her, in case you're interested 😊 Morissette just turned 27 last month. She was 21 in this video. Her father was a rock singer and her original musical influence. Her first name is actually Johanne and her middle name is Morissette, having been named after Johann Sebastian Bach and Alanis Morissette (clearly a music-loving family!). One of the signatures of her voice is her use of grit/distortion/intentional vocal breaks, and I think this is her father's influence showing 🙂 She also had a bit of musical theatre training when she was on the Philippines' version of Camp Rock, and even though her main genre is pop, she does gorgeous renditions of music from other genres (including musical theatre) while staying true to her signature sound. She is incredibly resilient. When she was 11, she had surgery for a throat tumor and was terrified she may never sing again. Thankfully, that didn't happen! She did a number of singing competitions while growing up, including The Voice Philippines, but kept falling short of the very top. (As a longtime musician who lives in the US and isn't Filipino but has followed Filipino music for 30+ years, in my opinion this is because her voice and singing style are different than what is typically popular there. Lots of fans are obsessed with belting with as much power and ornamentation as possible). She will readily admit this became so discouraging that she almost decided to throw in the towel and give up on her dream. But her stint on The Voice opened doors with people who couldn't deny her talent, and she signed a record and TV deal with the largest network. Ironically, she became a member of a four-person group called the Birit ("belting") Queens on that network's weekly singing show. She can belt with the best of them, but her style leans more toward elegance than sheer, unadulterated power. In fact, when her initial contract ended about three years ago and she became an independent artist, she made a deliberate shift away from the "birit" style of singing. She also deliberately shifted away from using her whistle register so much, even though it's an ability she's always naturally had, largely because she didn't want to be pigeonholed as "that singer who can do whistle tones." I came across her by sheer dumb luck several years ago. Her voice immediately drew me in and sent me down a rabbithole. I was delighted to discover that the more I watched and listened to, the more impressed I was. For me, she really has it all - rock solid technique, stunning technical prowess, a voice that is both distinct AND known for its sheer beauty, an innate gift for musicality, magnetic stage presence, staggering versatility. In addition to her appearances with David Foster this past March, where he predicted she'll be a global star, at one point Mariah Carey's former producer Rhett Lawrence was trying to sign her to Capitol Records, called her talent "unparalleled" and said he thought she could be bigger than Mariah and the other stars he's worked with. Unfortunately, the pandemic got in the way of those plans and then she decided to get married and stay in the Philippines...que sera sera. Whistle tones, growls, and vocal breaks like she does, it sounds like like a forlorn cry, these are her trademarks as it were. She has kind of gotten away from them a bit as they are easy for her to do, but hard on her vocal apparatus. If I had one song to recommend it would be her singing, 'Could You Be Messiah' the one take version. Mori's gift for expressing the emotion of any song she sings, to me, is way more impressive than the those things she is known for. This song is a first line example of that ability. I was worried that you would fall flat from heart attack when you heard her "whistle" note and the long one breath run after the whistle note. Thank God you are all right. I find it interesting to watch and listen to reactions of different you tubers from different countries, especially when they react to Morissette's performance. Two parts, of this song, you'll see her breath control..... slaying notes , for 14 and 15 seconds...the first entering the first whistle....and then right after she shoots arm up on high note at the bridge. Quite frankly, after watching that song, Rise Up and Never Enough, you have to put her up there as probably the best female singer ever.

Mori is a lovely girl even in person. She's kind, bubbly and adorable. many youtuber, fans and reactors made their way through, and meet up with her... and they all say the same thing.
One of my favorite things to do in my spare time is watch reactors experience Akin Ka Na Lang, it is quite entertaining and you are no exception, You know how with a lot of singers they kind of sound the same after a few songs so you get tired of listening. That dont happen with Mori because she always sounds different, `the way she sings and her beauty just mesmerizes you. She exudes warmth and goodness when she sings and it definitely is Not an act. Except for Gusto Ko Nang Bumitaw (live band version) where she is totally pissed off and she does pissed off off the charts😄

Mori has sung this multiple times sometimes with whistle but not when she has another ten or more songs to sing, because of the danger to her vocal cords, if you want more whistle then try PANAGINIP on the bus from the same day Mori sang NEVER ENOUGH, it's a upbeat song and that beautiful smile when she sings and the Joy she has just singing, it's not just a job for Mori she just loves singing, ENJOY your Journey with Mori.

Hello, Alison. This is my most favorite Morisette performance on the Wish Bus. And I'm guessing it's the same with many others, as the more than 160 million views it has garnered so far. It's her original song, written for her to interpret way back in 2014 for a songwriting competition in a Philippine TV channel. It did not win in that contest. But her singing it live in the Wish Bus radio station 4 years later in 2018 made it famous, watched by millions, reacted to, analyzed and reviewed by thousands of reactors like you. It placed Morissette on the global map. So, when people will hear this song even in future generations, they will know Mori, just like "My Heart Will Go On" is to Celine Dion and "I Will Always Love You" is to Whitney Houston.🥰
In this song, Morissette was able to showcase fully her talent and singing skills and techniques, from her sweet, low register, singing like a Disney princess during the first parts of the song, then shifting to her high registers, the mind-blowing whistle note, and the sustained 14-second incredible belting, capped with a whistle note at the end. 🥰

Morissette just turned 27 last month. She was 21 in this video. Her father was a rock singer and her original musical influence. Her first name is actually Johanne and her middle name is Morissette, having been named after Johann Sebastian Bach and Alanis Morissette (clearly a music-loving family!).
One of the signatures of her voice is her use of grit/distortion/intentional vocal breaks, and I think this is her father's influence showing 🙂 She also had a bit of musical theatre training when she was on the Philippines' version of Camp Rock, and even though her main genre is pop, she does gorgeous renditions of music from other genres (including musical theatre) while staying true to her signature sound.
She is incredibly resilient. When she was 11, she had surgery for a throat tumor and was terrified she may never sing again. Thankfully, that didn't happen! She did a number of singing competitions while growing up, including The Voice Philippines, but kept falling short of the very top. (As a longtime musician who lives in the US and isn't Filipino but has followed Filipino music for 30+ years, in my opinion this is because her voice and singing style are different than what is typically popular there. Lots of fans are obsessed with belting with as much power and ornamentation as possible). She will readily admit this became so discouraging that she almost decided to throw in the towel and give up on her dream.
But her stint on The Voice opened doors with people who couldn't deny her talent, and she signed a record and TV deal with the largest network. Ironically, she became a member of a four-person group called the Birit ("belting") Queens on that network's weekly singing show. She can belt with the best of them, but her style leans more toward elegance than sheer, unadulterated power. In fact, when her initial contract ended about three years ago and she became an independent artist, she made a deliberate shift away from the "birit" style of singing. She also deliberately shifted away from using her whistle register so much, even though it's an ability she's always naturally had, largely because she didn't want to be pigeonholed as "that singer who can do whistle tones."
I came across her by sheer dumb luck several years ago. Her voice immediately drew me in and sent me down a rabbithole. I was delighted to discover that the more I watched and listened to, the more impressed I was. For me, she really has it all - rock solid technique, stunning technical prowess, a voice that is both distinct AND known for its sheer beauty, an innate gift for musicality, magnetic stage presence, staggering versatility.
In addition to her appearances with David Foster this past March, where he predicted she'll be a global star, at one point Mariah Carey's former producer Rhett Lawrence was trying to sign her to Capitol Records, called her talent "unparalleled" and said he thought she could be bigger than Mariah and the other stars he's worked with. Unfortunately, the pandemic got in the way of those plans and then she decided to get married and stay in the Philippines...que sera sera. At any rate, I am so happy you discovered her and encourage you to please continue exploring all she has to offer. She is absolutely the real deal, my favorite singer of all time, and one of the best singers I've heard anywhere.

Whistle tones, growls, and vocal breaks like she does, it sounds like like a forlorn cry, these are her trademarks as it were. She has kind of gotten away from them a bit as they are easy for her to do, but hard on her vocal apparatus. If I had one song to recommend it would be her singing, 'Could You Be Messiah' the one take version. Mori's gift for expressing the emotion of any song she sings, to me, is way more impressive than the those things she is known for. This song is a first line example of that ability. The link is below. Whether you just listen to it or react to it, it will alter your life. I have yet to make it through without crying like a baby, it is just that good. In fact I am tearing up just thinking about hearing it again.

I was worried that you would fall flat from heart attack when you heard her "whistle" note and the long one breath run after the whistle note. Thank God you are all right. I find it interesting to watch and listen to reactions of different you tubers from different countries, especially when they react to Morissette's performance. She never disappoints me every time I listen to her singing.

Two parts, of this song, you'll see her breath control..... slaying notes , for 14 and 15 seconds...the first entering the first whistle....and then right after she shoots arm up on high note at the bridge. This is a song , without evening knowing the language, it turns ones body into jello. You'll hear many claim, she is the best female vocalist on the planet today.....and.....I 100% agree.
