Fun fact! The shoebill can also be seen in your inn room at the Crystarium!

I remember that (5.2 spoilers) rynne was with a shoebill in the amourat area and the characters comment on it too, how a shoebill could appear underwater.
There's a line Emet says towards the end, that gives me the feeling his character is also a reference to Jareth, David Bowie's Character from Labyrinth. Along with saying some similar phrases, a bored seemingly immortal ruler / king, who can turn into a bird at will (Shoebill vs owl), and has seemingly infinite power, but is powerless against some mortals.

Im gonna be honest, I feel like you dropped the ball with this one. Usually the ice burg videos are interesting to watch, but this one had a lot of dumb fan theories or things that are claimed to be theories that are explicitly shown. No one actually believes namazu are lalafell. Miqo'te dont have human ears. Yes Zenos killed himself and was later brought back due to experiments done on him. Meol is ground up sin eaters. Theres so much more interesting lore tid bits and developers facts you could have used for this video.
Yeah that's why I typically make my own icebergs instead of using others. But then people complain that it's too lore based/common knowledge and not 'obscure' enough.
There's really no pleasing everybody. But oh well. I am planning on going through the FF games in a 'revisited' series where I correct my mistakes and add new entries that people have suggested.

@@Maker1 I can definitely understand that. FF14 as a whole is a colossal video to try and do something like this on. As mentioned though, I do greatly enjoy your other iceberg videos and have genuinely been surprised to learn a lot of the things you present. If you do decide to do another FF14 one in the future I would highly recommend reaching out to some of the 14 content creators for some help with coming up with more interesting and less meme-y things.

The Warrior of Light being a primal is a neat theory, but I feel Shadowbringers put an end to it hard.

Who the hecku would think we (player WoL) could be a Primal? That theory sounds like it would be made by dumb people... Unless I'm missing something?

@@Star-Gazor I think it's fair to call him a primal, since it's possible that he's not even the original Elidibus, sacrificed to create Zodiark. But trying to apply that to the Warrior of Light doesn't work at all; if we're an Ascion, we're Azem... The one who rejected the idea of summoning both of the them. And we're sundered.
@@thecthuloser876 I think Starbtle was making a joke about Elidibus taking the form of the original Warrior of Light, in the Seat of Sacrifice, and calling a Primal. That's why I say "I see what u did there", and then talk about Elidibus more. And then, it's also why I specify "player WoL" in my second part of my comment lol
You do not always fight primals alone. The Pool of Tribute quest summary says you enlist adventurers who are fishing nearby to aid you .
Eh, I wouldn't put too much stock into duty descriptions trying to bridge the dissonance between being completely alone at a point in the story and then fighting in a group. But that's just me. Everyone else can choose to believe what they want, the game allows enough freedom for that.
@@thatguywhothinks8159 okay if duty description don't matter then I can def tell you that most primals you are told to gather allies or the primals themselves directly mention having to deal with more than one adversery for example

@@jonathanarvizu1403 Then can you tell me where those adventurers go afterwards? Only in dying gasp and seat of sacrifice do we have the excuse of "they get sent back to their worlds". This is not the case with any other trials. And also why I say that there is enough room open in how they tell the story in trials that both super solo soldier and master group tactician are valid interpretations.
@@thatguywhothinks8159 theyre adventurers there's nothing more that matters about them. If the story tells you "hey go form a group and storm the Vault" like they did then thats what happened. Otherwise then I can agree with your idea of an open interpretation. Our characters are both strong individuals but also good leaders by lore. One thing that I'll throw out there though cause I dont remember if it was mentioned but maybe those "adventurers" who are just other players to you also so you as just any other adventurer cause they themselves are the warrior of light.
Also maybe WoL solod ifrit I don't remember lore about that one.

This is kind of a pattern tbh. Genuinely enjoy the videos, but there doesn't seem to be much interest in corrections for certain games.

Yeah, now that I've seen more of his videos I've noticed alot of mistakes. Hopefully he reads these. Would be better to take more time to fact check the info and make sure the images in the video are correct. Lots of wrong images. I do like the concept of the iceberg vids tho...

@@VeryProfessionalGamer there is a really valid reason for syrcus to be a roulette choice most of the time. It has to do with strippers.
Namely, gear strippers. People who qualify for other alliance raids, but just before they click df, take off some of their gear, so their IL is not enough for duties above Syrcus.
They do it on purpose, since CT raids take least time to do and they want to be done with roulettes asap.

Lalafell crowd noise is part of a multitude of the original five races voice being put in a crowded enough area, limsa is where you usually hear this but it happens anywhere with enough people gathered, such as lucrative fates being spammed by everyone or even new expansions' first areas.

A lot of these theories have to be old and just left in the video because they existed. Like they made sense at one point but have been hard confirmed false.

WOL is a primal - more or less deconfirmed in shb
every primal is fought alone - the npcs always reference WOL bringing their strong friends to combat primals and go into dungeons
Nanamo really died - This implies that nothing from heavensward onward happened at all and it was just a dream??? Whose dream
Exarch clone - There are two versions of Graha from different points on the timeline. when they go back to the source, his soul inhabits his original sleeping body in the tower.
Meol is just bread - he did say this was just a meme theory i guess lol

The Ixals as allagans one is just dumb. Aside from the fact that the text said that Ixals were made to serve Allagans- we actually get to see several individuals that either are allagans, or clones of them, in the crystal tower. Seems like old Allagan nobility were basically giants.
@@AsaelTheBeast Yeah, the Ixali originally were feathered ones created by Allag the same way every other weird Chimera was. It just so happens some escaped and eventually bred out, losing their feathers. You can see original Ixali clones INSIDE the Aetherochemical Research lab, literally a whole side-quest about this.

For the powerman 5000 song. The song When Worlds Collide is around 20 years old. I rememeber that song from Tony Hawk pro skater 2 back on ps1.

@@nickiacona There are alot of songs that sound the same. Many artists in EDM genre use samples from some songs and change it up; so i wonder if that happened here. But from i understand is that it sounded too much like it. I just dont get how fans can think a 20 year old song copied from a game that came out about 9 to 11 years later.
@@MattBryantSulos The similarity in tracks is excusable; the both open with the same lyric "What is it ---" is ... Kind of damning. And Worlds Collide is a VERY old song, which puts the blame squarely on SE.
The Crystarium as it appeared in the 2005 tech demo was not referred as such in 2005. Somewhere along the line the tech demo material for this city was lost to time, but due to player interest in this city being in the game, the dev team created the Crystarium from scratch in the 2005 tech demo’s image.
Some theorize that the tech demo crystarium was most likely a prototype of limsa due to it being near the sea, before making it what it is now :0

Fun fact from West Shroud.
Linchweed still exists within the game, its one of the maps for custom matches for The Feast pvp mode, so, technically, west shroud is still in the game.
The Second Coil of Bahamut is also in West Shroud. though we're only above ground in T6. And you can of course see the damaged West Shroud off in the distance from every area of the Shroud (except for East), especially when flying.

I remember when world's collide came out and yeah its the same when people say Johnny Cash wrote hurt.

I just fought the Lakshmi primal and they told me to gather my adventurer friends to help take her down. The game in no way points to you fighting primals alone.
There are 3 more here.
1. The reason why Mor Dhona was placed in its category in teleport page is because of PS3 limitation. There weren't enough memory allocation.
2. Speaking of PS3 limitation, the first Crystal Tower Raid has multiple zones which includes loading lines. This was placed because PS3 only had 256MB of available RAM.
3. In another crystal tower raid series, Amon is Emet Selch. If you look closer, he does the iconic finger snap during one of the mechanic. This is also confirmed later in Shadowbringer by Emet Selch admitting he was somehow involved in Allag and the Crystal Tower.
Ain't Amon Fandandiel? Not Emet Selch.
Im going to be honest, making a XIV iceberg is hard, because there is so much deep meta lore, memes and just things about the game people know in general, that you could add on hundreds of things and still have room to go.
It would be the same with Warcraft. There are so many things that are just in-jokes with the community and others can be weird rabbit holes.

imagine instead of being innovative for FF16... they gonna make another single player game... instead of innovating they are going into the past. the future is in multiplayer action combat game with good fun gamestyle like Arena or Capture the flag or King of the hilll... also innovation ability to tame open world monsters as your mount or open world raid bosses players could fight over for... check ou the Kings Avatar animation to learn how to actually make complete mmorpg moba game
the game has some really good PvE elements, music, zones bosses, story.. but its not a complete game
lack of social features like chat bubbles, smaller nameplates aka small text font size option (last time I checked there was only normal and big option=) and no vocie chat. you have an outdated combat and subscription model with convoluted login/register/buy game systems. u lack social and PvP updates. u lack innovation. u don't even wanna complete game. u don't combine PvE elements with PvP. like open world raid bosses where players and guilds would fight to contest them. they could drop epic mounts. or exp/gear tokens that could be 1 alternative to story progression. or the ability to tame open world monsters as your mount. but most good mounts are locked behind a paywall or insane grind. u don't have Frontline sound or graphic notification. the lack of PvP mounts/events/quests. u only care about PvE and story players.u focus on shemale model instead of updating your game lol. also no blue mage in PVP (most good MMORPG animations main character is classless class. from Kirito to the main character in the Kings avatar animation. u don't have a single good 4v4 map like Heavens Arena from the King's avatar. FFXIV community could learn a lot from the Kings Avatar animation from Tencent. your combat too. 20 years behind. no skillshots or dodges, not even hybrid action combat like gw2, let alone true action combat like smite or Vindictus...2.5s global cooldown time with tab target combat in 2021... and they thought they are gonna solve the issues of combat by just adding crazy animations...but that cluttered the game and now they cannot even lower global cd time because of that. lack of social interaction. because u only have chat box that gets spammed whole day and emotes. emotes are nice but feel like u also need chat bubbles or voice chat. games 15 years ago successfully implemented chat bubbles. also new players cannot their content on ffxiv reddit, u have blocked comments on your FFXIV promotion videos so people cannot discuss it.... you take people that care for the game and complain as "toxic"...

doesn't change the fac the game has 500 ms animation lock + 2.5s global cd tab targeting combat. 20 years behind. they thought they will fix the combat by adding crazy animations, but that also just cluttered the game. mybe they could lower global cd to 2 second but anything lower hard because crazy animations. but the core problem si still there. tab targeting combat. not even hybrid action combat with skillshots and dodges. elt alone true action combat like Smite, Vindictus r the Kings Avatar animation. WoW TBC, for example, ahs bunch of instant casts too but only 1 second global cd. also wow tbc has chat bubbles and voice chat... ffxiv only has emotes and chat box. and it sux watching into chat bo whole day that get spammed. it is not socially interactive. or actually good 4v4 map like heavens Arena from the Kings Avatar or open-world raid bosses where players and guild could fight to contest them....or ability to tame open world monsters as your mount....innovate....more PVP events/rewards/mounts, combine PvE and PVP elements... and ffxiv community often mix competitive spirit and rivallry with toxicity

The fact that he's an alternate timeline version of himself isn't hidden information at all by the end of Shadowbringers, and is an integral part of the story. In 5.3, it is directly addressed that there are two of him and we even bring back his soul and memories to fuse with his original body after his Exarch body is consumed by the Tower.
I think "Exarch clone" that deep on the iceberg has to mean something else, like maybe a theory that the Exarch is actually a clone of the original G'raha Tia who died in that timeline or something like that?
Voice 7 was not a diffrent voice actor, it was a file error
Crystarium of today is a reference to that 2005 demo, but not the same place
1:23 There is some evidence that Allagans MADE Ixals, but they weren't Ixals themselves. The in game text support this- but more importantly we actually get to see some allagans in the crystals tower. Emperor Xande is a clone of the original emperor, And some of the bosses are also listed as being Allagans. Basically? Allagan nobility were fucking giants.
5:13 not true. In game dialogue and journal entries refute this multiple time. Although there are at least a couple confirmed in universe to be done solo.

4:54 If you wanna see all Cloud Strife dialogues, you can go into chat log settings, where you can change colors of text chat/system logs and so on. The dialogues are supposed to be the examples of the changes.

Heya! Thanks for making this! If it's alright, just want to make a few clarifications and corrections. Any theories in these corrections are ones that have been disproven through the events of the story (likely after the original theories were posited), not to disagree with speculation and "this theory is stupid". Mainly doing this for my own catharsis. The video creator can probably ignore all of these if they want to. I'm not your dad. XD
@2:20 - The section of the Gold Saucer with the mountain is known as the Round Square, not the Lone Square.

In the story, it is deduced that the lock on the Crystal Tower was broken by Garlond Ironworks, who released G'raha Tia from a proper temporal stasis (which allowed the various bosses in Syrcus Tower, such as Glasya Labolas, Amon, and Xande himself to survive as if they'd never aged a day while also never setting foot outside the tower prior). Working with the Ironworks team, G'raha used the Tower to travel time and space to The First. And while merging partially with the Tower did slow his aging, he's still the same character, and in fact, in 5.3, when his body is claimed entirely by the Tower, his mind and soul are put into his past self on The Source. No clones here, just temporal counterparts!

The reason you see no one else doing them is because, in essence, the fight already happened, you are the one who the story says participated in the fight, and so if you see no one and you never did the fight, it's because the fight hasn't happened yet. If you see no one and you did the fight already, it's because the fight already happened.
proto ultima is a Dun Scaith miniboss that replaces the encounter after Ferdiad Hollow, given that someone in the instance has the proto-ultima quest. It doesn't replace Scathach ("the succubus"), what are you talking about.
The miniboss battle that it replaced is against a succubus and some slimes (maybe other things, I cannot recall now).
1:54 - You can see beardless Cid again in the beginning of the Bozja questline and you see him earlier in ARR in flashbacks. Most people didn't know that Cid originally lacked facial hair because that was his appearance in 1.0 and before the Seventh Umbral Calamity. It's explained during the 2.0 MSQ that Cid was traumatized by the events of the Calamity and suffered from amnesia as a result, going under the name Marques after he was found by Father Illuid in East Thanalan.

Warrior of Light being a primal that was being tossed around in the early days. We eventually would get _a_ Warrior of Light as a primal, but it's not your character. The calamity was in reference to something that was hinted at in A Realm Reborn and later Heavensward when characters were talking about the balance of light and darkness. As we later learn, this is somewhat true but it was initially understood as if doing too much good would destroy the world and you being so powerful at this point would have repeated it. Instead it was in reference to light and darkness as primordial elements instead of good vs evil.

The Black Crystal on Thancred's body was destroyed at the end of 2.0. Lahabrea spends the rest of 2.0 recouperating from his injuries and he dies before Thancred returns in Heavensward.
The theory makes no sense considering Thancred's ladies man attitude was at its most prominent in 2.0 and never sired any children. His aether flow being damaged has nothing to do with infertility and given what we later learn of him, he would have avoided having children so as to not complicate his work because he had a tendency to _overwork_ himself.

well I haven't seen it in FFXIV, but in FFXI I saw the GM jail back then XD. My character glitched out during a disconnect while in a cutscene and got stuck in a transitional area that doesn't really exist, the only way the GM knew how to fix it was to send me to the jail where they could just home point me back afterwards. The GM left the convo open until I repeated the cutscene and confirmed that the issue didn't re-occur!

most of these aren't really hidden facts, and Y'shtola lost her eyesight because using the spell "flow" to travel the lifestream with thancred in order to flee the banquet was cast improperly, as Matoya stated, it's why thancred can't manipulate aether anymore, and it's why even though (spoiler) Emet managed to pull her from the lifestream in the first, she suffered no ill effects (end spoiler), and Zenos did die, the autopsy report in-game lore stated his wounds were grievous, that no man could have survived it.
Less that it was cast improperly and more that the spell itself is just dangerous and unreliable.

I have big plans for my channels when I move into my new place. Until then I'm forced to work with what I have available to me. But this is only the rough and rocky beginning.
My goal has always been to deliver information and content that I find interesting. I rarely share my own opinion and I obviously don't show my face or personal aspects. I'm kind of just neutral faceless voice delivering research about people's passions. I'm not exactly Mr. Personality, charming and full of charisma haha.
And the hate comments about pronunciation/delivery are ever-present whether I record or not. And since my living situation doesn't allow for quality recording right now, this just made sense. I recognize it's not perfect, but it's currently my best option to make content. I'd rather make slightly subpar content than no content at all. And even though I want the best possible content, I still have to make end's meet.
I'm at this for the long-haul though. I plan on continuing to improve, grow, and share my interests and creations with the world. So while it may not be optimal right now, it's only going to get better, and I'm 150% committed to this. And this is only the metaphorical tip of the iceberg for the content I want to create. I have a ton of other projects in the planning phases that I'm excited to get to work on and share with everyone.

To be fair, I probably wouldn't have even thought about how your voice is good if it wasn't for the whole TTS thing. As for mispronounciations, we all do that, don't let it get to you too much. Good luck with your channel and revamp though, i'll check on your channel every once in a while to see when you stop using the AI. At least for me it ruins the video since it's scratchy. I'd rather you would have just used one of the normal TTS voices that everyone has used for years since they always sound pretty clear and don't have the "scratchiness" or "fuzziness" of AI.

To answer the iceberg the "Warrior of Light" is a broad term that refers to legends of a selfless altruistic adventurer who did countless good deeds in service of light's name sometimes even sacrificing his or her own life in the process.
many would come to possess this title but only one in particular stood out above them all he was ancient man from a lost civilization known as Amarout he had been know as "Azem" a former member of the governing body of Amarout know as the Convocation. this man was well respected and revered amongst his peers garnering even the admiration of the convocation's chosen leader at the time Elidibus who aspired he would one day be just like Azem, but regrettably that dream never came to pass but those memories carried over to the convocations' created primal version of Elidibus, who took it upon himself to summon a visage and avatar of light sporting the same looks and design of the poster boy hero of the original Final Fantasy game who was simply known as the "warrior of light"

Don't forget that Elidibus was the FIRST Warrior of Light, not Azem, and the one that started the legend. He also periodically took on a persona and was a Warrior of Light over and over again throughout history.
Azem's soul shards is/are (theorized) to be a recurring reincarnation that is an influential Warrior of Light through the ages, but Elidibus is the same person and has never died (until...well, you know). Thus they've both (theorized) been the Warrior of Light through different ages, though Elidibus was the first and was the same person playing different parts, unlike Azem's (theorized) shards which actually lived and died and were reborn later.
It should also be noted that there are more than one Warrior(s) of Light. For example, 1.X players are Warriors (plural) of Light, and Ardbert and his party were also Warriors of Light who had their special Crystals to prove it. Unulakai and the woman who would become...uh, you know (IF you did all the Role quests in ShB and the bonus one, anyway) were also Warriors of Light from the 13th that fell to become the Void.
So Azem is/was not the only Warrior of Light - through history nor in the present day. And Elidibus, in fact, was the FIRST Warrior of Light.

(Lahabrea seems to be the actual leader in most instances even going so far as to council and advise Elidibus at times) this Elidibus gave his life up so Zodiark could be born, the "elidibus" we then know is a primal that was willed into existence by the members of the convocation (not including Azem who defected) to act as a counter balance to Zodiark's tempering acting as a mediator between the forces of light and forces of dark.
the "elidibus" with which we are acquainted with is only the memories of the previous title holder and not the actual person. note while he says "i withdrew myself from zodiark for them.." this is a false statement he was saying this line as again the "memories" of the previous Elidibus came flooding into his collective mind.

In 1.0 when you were summoned by the crystal, it was implied you were ripped from your home plane of existance and plopped in the middle of all this bad shit that was yet to be, crystal charged you with stopping it. The succubus in Dun scaith is still there and isn't Unlockable, it's there by default. Proto-ultima is the Unlockable mini-boss, triggered by players having the relevant quest active to spawn it. Thing is, since DS is an alliance raid, and those have 24 people, it's entirely possible that the majority of runs just end up with Proto-Ultima due to just as little as a single person having the quest in most runs.
as far as I know: the succubus was the original boss during the raid and they replaced her with proto-ultima after sb release? Larryzaur mentioned it in one of his lore-videos, too

Now a days it's pretty much almost confirmed that since Zeno's was a direct descendant of Emet Selch (confirmed by Emet that he did indeed start the royal bloodline) after he was infused with the fabricated Echo then died it awakened his Ascian powers to its fullest.
We aren't sure as of yet the extent of those powers, whether he is more like the unsundered Emet (as he is a direct descendant) or the lesser sundered Ascians like Fandaniel.

50th percentile is, by definition, the median (which is close enough to average in a normal distro) so blues are actually above average, and greens just below average. Purple is past that, and orange is the top 10 percentiles. Above that is pink (99th) and orange (100th). 0 (which means you're both the worst parse and there's a calculation error) is still grey.
A lot of these are explained inaccurately, especially the things connected to 1.0. 1.0 was a completely seperated game.

For example, (almost) all events in 1.0 are considered canon to 2.0-Present's story, including the taking down of the servers. Even when the 1.X players make a wall around Ul'dah with their Gobbule mounts, there's an NPC in 2.X that mentions that event.

@@SaloMatt that one was weird to me because they basically redid the whole game - though it's fair to note that the Black Shroud WAS more changed than anything else. Like, almost nothing is the same and some areas even aren't where they should be (in terms of north/south/east/west) from 1.X to 2.X+. The other regions they tended to keep things MORE OR LESS where they were originally (or destroyed them totally), but the Black Shroud had some places disappear entirely and others move around or even take new forms.
...except Thousand Maws. That's apparently identical, though obviously now instanced (you can even see the collapsed tunnels that went to the 1.X areas). I think the only other thing that did that was Cutter's Cry and Dzmael Darkhold...I think? They even put on the map the 1.X areas that you can't go to in that faded/washed out color, but you can see the entire 1.X dungeon on the map today.
Some areas were relatively unchanged before and after, and they remade Gridania and Ul'dah VERY faithfully to the originals, even the parts you can't go to. Gridania had a number of changes, though, and the Black Should is completely unrecognizable with only the Slyphlands maintaining that kind of feel, and even not fully.
So I think it IS fair to say that the Black Shroud, in particular, had a total rework.
@@SaloMatt You're referring to when they were talking about how the West Shroud is still around? It's probably just awkward wording but they aren't wrong. In-universe the West Shroud still exists as part of the world's geography, it's just that players can't access it. They explain the reason for that, as well as all of the other general map layout changes as just the land being reshaped by the damage caused via the Calamity. The West Shroud got hit so hard that there's nothing of value left there, but it IS still there technically.
