- Of course we all know what blood is, and everyone has had at least a minor injury involving blood. But what is it exactly? What's it made of? What does it do? Why do we die if we lose enough of it? Let's check out each component of blood now, on both the cellular and molecular level!

I was in high school when I first started watching his lectures, didn't think I'd come here again, I'm a medical student now
SAME HERE!
Hey Professor Dave! Just wanted to thank you for the videos. It's really nice to have a single channel that explains a whole lot of stuff! I personally enjoy learning about a variety of things, so when I'm a bit tired of one specific topic I go read about geography, or biology, or something else.
It's nice to learn by reading but it's even better hearing someone who understands the stuff explain it, so thanks!
"But what is it exactly? What's it made of? What does it do?" that's legit me earlier today in the bathroom trying to remember what Van der Waals force is haha
Thanks ☺️ for your loss of the
This is very interesting. I liked your concise description of the different components of blood.

Thanks for all your hard work and straight forward and easy to understand videos! You make learning these somewhat difficult topics so much easier!

I want to make a game with my own spin on the concept of “what if the human body was just a little place with a bunch of little guys in it” focusing mainly on blood cells. This video is incredibly helpful to me in my endeavors, and it is also simply very nice to be able to learn more about anatomy. Thank you, Professor Dave! :-)
By far Theeee Best blood histology Video on TH-cam hands down 🙌🙌🙌

4:06 One thing I emphasize to my MCAT students is that there is a difference between oxygen molecules and oxygen atoms. Oxygen is diatomic in gaseous form so hemoglobin contains 4 oxygen molecules (O2) but 8 oxygen atoms (O).
Excellent explanation. Thank you .
