After 3 years, tell us how much time you've spent dealing with weeds and grass growing in the gaps.

How many bags of mortar mix did you use?

After 3 plus years what would you change to make it better?

Have you ever used these blocks to build a small wall for a garden bed?

Matt, I have a smaller driveway project planned. Was wondering about not having any mortar mix between the blocks - will that hasten cracking of the underlying mortar due to rain? I'm asking because all the belgium blocks serving as driveway borders in my area have mortar/concrete mix between them.

Not sure but the mortar mix worked for my project.

Why can’t you dig down and put couple inch crushed stone, then couple inch of screening and tamp down level?

are you being frugal or do you genuinely like the look of just butting them together? be honest with your self here… its not much money as a diy or to pay and get it done….

@@vdubskiee5356 Thanks for the reply. I definitely like the look of mortar but if I diy it as an older guy I'm concerned about all the bending and such on my back, and getting someone to do the work in this area amounted to - are you ready for this - 9K. So I've got a younger guy lined up, he's my landscaper and a bull, and he'll do the heavy lifting for the project. But you're right and I appreciate your insights.

I would've placed stone where grass meets sidewalk!!

17.80-20/ft is a good range to be in. Assuming 10ft/hour.

What was the mortar mix you used? for a similar project I'm working on - someone told me 1 part Portand, 2 parts sand.
