  • Welcome to this video on How To Set A Tattoo Pen Voltage For Soft shading.
    I've covered similar videos in the past on how to set the speed and voltage of a tattoo coil machine though, tattoo pen style machines can be a little trickier to work out the speed.
    Hopefully after you've watched this video you'll have all the information you need to confidently set the speed of your pen style tattoo machines!
    The tattoo machine used in this video is a Dragon Hawk Mast Archer Wireless Tattoo Pen Style Machine. I will be doing a full in depth review on this machine in the coming weeks so keep an eye out on the channel to check it out and also receive a discount code.

    I'm fairly new to tattooing and this is the machine I picked up. It's been working wonderfully for me and I'm excited to see what you say about it. I did have some issues come up with shading and now I know why, I was running it a bit too fast and it wasn't coming out quite like I wanted. (still pretty good, just a bit off) Love the videos, they have been a big help picking up the new hobby and/or maybe profession in the future!

    I quit about five years ago due to low self confidence (no one ever actually complained)
    Did have some chat with you last year I think but I recently bought a cnc wireless (after a bit of research and you not hating it)
    Another £300 on needles and inks and the missus got me a real skin bundle for Christmas.
    It's all still in boxes (and tubes) but after watching this it might be unboxing time.
    I also discovered a fantastic app.
    You load a picture you wish to tattoo, pick a part of the picture and it tells you the exact colour from a range of inks.
    Ive got the colours to attempt a stitch tat (disney not surgical)

    Thanks Jono for another excellent video. I have seen your video on CPS with coil machines but since I have a pen style, that video really didn't help. So I am glad to see this one, especially since I am working on my black and gray reality tattoos. Thanks again! 🙏 Poppy

    There is always an option to listen how your machine sounds (I do that now and I usually go lower than recommended without any problems) or start lower and if you comfortable go higher.

    Hey Juno, firstly want to say I love your channel. I'm hoping you can help me with my dilemma. I really need to understand what voltage I should be running while packing black/color. Should it be higher than what I line with or lower? Same with shading I know it should be lower than what I line with but I don't know how much lower. If it helps I have a CNC Q2 machine with faulhabor motor they say rums at 6000 RPM. It's a 3.5 stroke machine. I line around 7 to 7.5. Depending on what needle grouping I'm running. I really really hope you can help me to figure this out. So my machine operating voltage is 6 to 9 or 10. Say to not run it over 10 volts. I did the math and to be running between 90 and 100 CPS I would have to run the machine at 8.5 volts and the max would be 9 9.5 volts. I don't understand cause I line around 7 to 7.5? Thank you for all that you do for us Juno. I really appreciate you brother!

    Hey man I have the Mast fold pro pen I asked dragonhawk what is the motor speed/RPM of the pen and they told me it's 8volt 65000 but the machine is 5v-12volts is that about right? For it or should they tell me 12 v at that rpm

      i just got the mast archer as well? what volt do you prefer to line and pack/shade at? also do you like the machine?

    • @nonnysbro
      @nonnysbro ปีที่แล้ว

      @@kNINER-tj6mq I've been doing most most my lining with 7RL at 8 volts (Precision carts if you're interested they are more affordable than Kwadron, but great quality so far) So far as shading and packing I use about the same volts unless I'm using a larger Mag. But I haven't used larger than an 11 Round Mag so far. I may adjust up or down from 8 while shading depending on the skin I'm running on. I've found different people's skin takes ink differently. On my own skin I can run 8 all the way, but I still get nervous and move slower on other people so I tend to turn it down due to my hand speed wanting to slow down. Also, I like the machine a lot for the price point. The battery life is great also. Sucks that you can't remove it and use another pack. But still pretty great.
