Perth is proactive, not waiting until it's too late, but instead building out aggressively. I look forward to videos when the current construction projects are completed. Perth also does a good job staying ahead of the graffiti. I live in a US city of about the same population with ZERO rail transport. No urban transit, no intercity, Nada.
Thanks for watching! Yes, it's a very good initiative by this current state government to make such a large investment in urban rail. It will keep Perth 'livable' for years to come.
What is disturbing is this short SIX km line has a 7min service between trains all the time apart from very early and late mon-sun, before all this railwork only the Thornlie train stopped at Burswood & Vic Park logically you'd FORGET the Armadale times, run only Thornlie times then both in peak times
Transperth doesn't use the AWS system. It uses an ATP system using transponders. Look in the four foot just before the signals. You should be able to see two grey plates on the sleepers. It's a European based system, I believe. I forget the name of it.
Thanks for uploading the videos. They’re great to watch. Question, where do the drivers start and finish work? I presume they’re based at a depot somewhere. How long is a working day for them?
Depending on which depot they work at, the drivers generally start at Mandurah, Claisebrook and Nowergup depots. The shift length varies from as minimum of 5 hours to a maximum of 9 hours.
Yes, there is new track being built. It is for railcar storage in anticipation of direct trains to Mandurah from the Stadium, via the new Thornlie - Cockburn link.
I love how it perfectly alternates between platform 4/5 at Perth and platform 1/2 at Victoria Park. Does a train leaving platform 4 always go to platform 2 at Victoria Park and leaving 5 always to 1 or not?
this is both the Armidale and Thornlie/Cockburn lines, and due to the rail works they have gone with keeping the principle "15"min between trains on EACH line despite only running this part, making it 7mins between trains on this section, this ends up they needing "FIVE" trains to fulfil the timetable requirements, this results in all 5 trains visiting both 4/5 in Perth and 1/2 in vic park over the day (side note Armidale trains normally do not stop at Burswood & vic park)
Another pleasure video this day. Weather was great, and the ride was grand. Thank you for the trip! 🇦🇺🙂👍🇺🇸
Posted just as Perth Stadium will not be skipped anymore after tomorrow...
Do you think the Stadium Express will be a New line and run everyday
@@1415Delta No why would they do that...
Ah because it's convenient @@TransportofPerth
Well at least Thornlie line everyday
@@1415Delta It literally saves like a minute on a trip barely anyone is making anyway.

This train runs from Perth to Victoria Park stopping at all stations.

Armadale. Armidale is in NSW.
I just wonder how you got this view?
Impressive
He's friends with a driver who records this for him.
@@TransportofPerth I bet that must be nice. Hope it is not that much of a hassle to record.
Where are the AWS Magnets that are usually in the four foot, is there a different system in Australia.
This ain't four foot. There are multiple different systems in Australia. Different signalling, different gauges, different power.
The 'four foot' is a generic name for the space between the inside edge of the two running rails.

@@BennettBrookRailway All very interesting. Thanks for the reply.
Is there a new track layout being build at Perth Stadium? Seems to be earth works going on.

please do a high speed for this
Does anyone know how much transperth railcar drivers get paid a year?
Base rate net pay is 75-80 000 dollars a year.
@@BennettBrookRailway thanks
Awesome
yo can you get your train driver friend to record a series driver cabin view on the mandrauh and joondalup line pls
I will definitely make the request.
Yeah especially after the Yanchep is opened
@@BennettBrookRailway ok thx
No
Why did they not remove Seaforth instead of Welshpool
Seaforrh services a retirement village very close to the station. It provides the senior citizens with transport options.
It Seaforth not Seaforth and can you please make more transperth train can video
Yes, I made a spelling mistake.
Me make little spelling errors all the times
Welshpool station has been demolished as part of the elevated rail project on the Armadale/Thornlie line. It will not be rebuilt.
