I play a lot of different games so my game knowledge isn't complete 😅 But from my experience:
- Predator skull is usually slow for me time wise? I did think about picking it up. May have been the better play
- Usually the ninja star item helps me clear rooms faster? Also not sure if that was a good play

@@puddingboxes i see, i mostly watch skul from beelz, so my knowledge so far came from him, from that your run, so far, what i see was :
- living armor and predator belongs to the same category of skul, which is power skul, while they're usually slow because they only have 1 dash, their dash dealt damage to enemies, it's just that living armor uses magical damage, and predator uses physical damage
- gunpowder sword and thief blacksteel dagger is a godlike combo because they make sure you have a high chance of crit and explosion, which mean you could clear room fast enough just with those 2 things without hidden blade inscryption, which clears room for more dmg increase items
- 4 courage/wisdom is crazy good to build up damage, it's so good it almost an always take for hard 10 to be able to beat it, mostly other that have amplifying text too
- 2 revenge inscryption is really good for reckless play as they allow you to heal when hitting an opponent after taking a hit, a rare resources that is hp
- at 12:03 i think i remember beelz said that if you didn't drop there, and instead take a detour, the enemy won't spawn and allows you to take the next room, not sure if it's faster than quickly annihilates them
well, this is just what i know as a random viewer, and honestly, i just butthurt with that 4 courage get thrown away, it could've been 4 courage with hope slahser twt), so, take this with a grain of salt :v

Yeah it's crazy to me that you got the WR even with some moves that could be seen as 'misplays'. Thieves with gunpowder is, for example, one of those as well as some rooms where you forgot enemies and stuff. GG dude, very impressive!

Why the pause menu before picking up items from the chests?

The in-game timer stops (Top left) when you pause. I do this to decide which item I want

@@puddingboxes Thank you :) I just started this game.. Nice run! My son couldn't believe that it could be beaten under 20 minutes when I told him about speedruns (he's 8.. I was his hero just for beating the tree and the sisters lol!).. We also just found out about the rookie mode.. Cheers!
